I guess I am not doing ER on 2/20. Maybe 2/21...going for another S&S tomorrow morning. I am so exhausted from all these meds. My E2 dropped from 2064 to 1000...weird but they say it's normal because of the Cetrocide. All other numbers were good so they are not worried. I have so many personals I would like to do, but my computer is still broke and it sucks to type on this IPOD. Good luck to everyone on 2ww, doing ER and ET!!!

Hi Ladies!

Without further ado, we POAS'd this AM and it was POSITIVE!!! We did two just in case - and not only was it positive, it turned a pretty dark pink line immediately. So I'm sort of thinking we might have two buns in the oven!

Gi - check this out: http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/0218/washington.html

I'll do all the personals later! I just wanted to share the good news. We're heading in for our beta blood test this AM. I'll let you know this PM what the number is.

YAYAYYAAYAYYA!!!!! DId I mention it's also my BIRTHDAY??? 33 is my lucky number :-)

Hi girls.

Merri~ Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D cannot wait to here Beta news

Sorry about lack of personals...emotionally I do not have the engery right now. Plus, yesterday I typed up this big long post and lost it! AHHHHH.............

Well beta yesterday was 29...so its dropping, as expected. But that was not the most disappointing news as I was prepared for that. I got my explaination of benefits from my insurance company...I noticed my cycle from 2/1/10 was billed and it more than doubled payment from my previous cycle in 9/09. I called the insurance company and low and behold...my clinic re-negotiated with the insurance company to raise its payments. Good for the docs...terrible for me as we have a lifetime fertility cap. Bad news, with the increase, we do not have enough money for another cycle... We just bought a new house...assumming we had 2 tries at IVF and expected things to work out....now that they are not...not sure we have the $$ to chance on doing a self pay cycle. I had always thought if next cycle did not work and we became self pay, any money to borrowed or spent would be towards adopting. IVF is too risky, especially with egg quality issues and donor eggs is so darn $$$$$. Well, to add insult to injury....DH informed me last night he was having second thoughts about adoption!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTH!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????? Even before we were married we talked about adopting....it was soemthing I thought we both always wanted to do! Now, he drops this bomb on me. I am devestated. I so wish we had not bought our new house....especially if I knew the outcome. Am I being unreasonable?????

Miyaya - I had to jump in, I'm sooooo sorry for your loss. I also had a chemical pregnancy and it was heartbreaking. Then I mustered up what little energy to try to start another, and I also found out we were running out of insurance money. We are going to have to put a considerable amount of our own money next cycle. We also switched clinics because my current clinic was entirely to expensive. This new clinic only charges $5,500 + meds = $8,500 approx. I've heard alot of IVF clinics are losing business, bad for them, good for us  Maybe hunt around you may be surprised what you find. My new RE even has packages like 1 fresh/ 1 frozen for $7,500 + meds. My new RE said they even get patients from out of state and stay in a hotel next to the hospital for a couple of weeks. Right now I have to do pretesting and I have gained a ton of weight, so I'll be working on those issues for awhile. Sometimes things have a way of working themselves out :D

Karen,

WhooHOO for great beta #!! You are moving right along. I am so happy for you.

Merri,

congrats on your BFP. That is wonderful. Cannot wait to hear your beta #!

Lauren,

hang in there. The last couple of days before ER are long and uncomfortable physcially. You will get there!

Miyaya,

I am so sorry to hear about your insurance issues. I hate insurance companies.....don't get me started. I gotta say my mouth dropped open about your DH dropping the "maybe I dont' want to adopt bomb". WTF???? Ok, deep breath. Maybe he is just really disappointed (as you are) about this last cycle and still in shock. Maybe he will come around when he see's there is no way to financially swing a self pay cycle (with no guarantee of outcome). AIso I would talk to RE and tell him your issue and see if they are will to negotiate the price (they did it with insurance company to get more $!) so maybe he will take less for a self pay and not having the hassle of filing insurance paperwork.

afm, had Sns today. Lining is at 12 (which is better than last time, I think it was an 8 or 9) and my ET is scheduled for 2/25. Nurse said "more fluff" in lining is good. So I am trying not to get too hopeful, but my PMA is coming up!

Lauren -- I'll probably to go ER 2/21, so I'll be right there with you!

Merri -- Happy Birthday and congratulations! :D That is awesome news. Can't wait to hear your beta!

Miyaya -- So sorry for your ordeal. I totally hear what you are saying about stressing over the costs of IVF. We are self pay all the way as we work in healthcare for companies that are self insured so therefore, no fertility benefits. My clinic charges $9,500 + meds per cycle. I bought a "shared risk" plan which includes 3 fresh cycles and any frozens for $23,500 + meds. I'm on fresh try #2. If the three tries don't work, then I get 80% of my money back which I plan to put towards additional cycles. As for adopting, I think couples should go for it if it makes them happy. There are many adoptions in my DH's family and it's wonderful. Maybe your DH will come around... the devastation you guys experienced is still new. Bring up the topic again in a few weeks. Things have a way of working out. Look at what happened for Katie99! I hope you find your happiness as well.

AFM -- So I FINALLY saw RE today. I told him my wishes for a 5dt. He went into the "great debate" around the various theories. He agreed a 5dt has considerable higher success rates but with only a few embies, that waiting until 5 days might end up with nothing to transfer. I said "well, isn't it possible that those that don't make it to 5 days, couldn't be a positive result anyway". He agreed that's a great question and said if I can find a way to do that study then he'd do it...lol. Ugh! Basically I'm looking at between 3 and 6 eggs. I have a 20mm. 18mm, 15mm, 12mm, 11mm, 10mm, and a couple in the 7-8 mm range that will never catch up :( . Now my fingers are crossed for good quality eggs and high fertilization report. Last time I ended up with 3 embies. I was so hoping to get more this time. I'll likely have ER on Monday 2/22. I have acupuncture again this evening.

Hey ladies,

Merri OMG Big Congrats on the positive test!!!!! Another one to our list keep them rolling girls!!! Thanks for the cool link, j loves hurling and big GAA fan!! Cant wait to hear your beta xx

Katie i just so love your RE!!! You will be his proud success stories he will tell other couples when they are ready to give up, my motto Never Ever Give Up xxx

Miyaya i am so sorry over your chemical i think i may have forgotten to offer my condolences when the boards were down, i truly am sorry. I really hope you get your finances sorted and figure some way out, here in Ireland its all self pay no such thing as insurance. As for your husband it may just be a difficult time for him at the moment, give him a little space then sit down when you are nice and calm (yeah easier said than done esp.if he agreed on adoption), i really pray and hope your new home will be blessed with the sounds of children soon xxx

Lou i hope you have some good eggs in there too and 100% fert rate wouldnt it be great, we have ec on same day.

Ronda love your PMA you will get your BFP this time, faith only wanted you to use up all your frosties thats all and it will be worth it xxx

Karen Yeah great 2nd beta you must be delighted

AFM triggering tomorrow nite!! Have 16 good sized follies and few immature ones hopfully we wii get some good eggs. ER is 9am on Monday then transfer thurday oh how i hate the days inbetween!!!! Think the neighbours thought i was a burglur today, i left my car keys in the car and j went to work in my car, he locked the front door so i was locked in, i didnt realise till i had the dogs all ready to go for walk, they were barking like mad so i decided it would best for us all to jump out the bay wndow in the front of the house, thankfully no one saw me but didnt get away with it trying to get us back into the house with my non too sexy bum trying to break into my own house!

Hi everyone -

Wow so much excitement around here! I love it!

MerriHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! OMG! Could you think of a better b-day present? I hope your clinic calls back soon, we are all dying to make it official!
cant wait to hear your beta number! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Laurenyou're almost there! How are you feeling? Ooooh, your ER is so close now!

Miyaya - Dont even get me started on those ins companys  We have been totally self pay throughout this whole thing. It is so hard. I dont understand why your DH is now getting cold feet about adoption? I'm with Gi it is right after a chemical, its easy to forget sometimes that men have their ups & downs with ivf too. I'm hoping that he will settle down, when some time has passed. Have a huge open hear to heart with him and get all your feelings out in the open. Big hugs

Ronda Yiipppeee for a 12mm lining! Your uterus is all ready to go! I think theres a BFP waiting for you...

Lou I get what you mean about a 5dt. But I think when your RE says theres a risk of having nothing - than thats too scary! I'm diminished ovarian reserve, so I know the fear of not enough eggs. And its awful feeling.I mean, why risk it? I think as long as you dont have a set transfer amount in your head, then ET everything that looks good on day 3. Within reason, of course. The odds of triplets is less than 5%, I'm not sure of twins though

Gi - tee heee! "Gi the burglur!" Ahhh, its happened to us all at one time or another - for me, its always the car - I've lost count of how many times I've locked the keys in the car! GRRRR! Always so embarrassing too! YAY for triggering! And you've got lots of eggs! :D the few days between ER and ET are like the last days to get the house in order, last days of anything physical, ( I meant activity - no minds in the gutter, please! ) oooh and the last glass of wine with dinner! Get ready - you'll be PUPO next week! :D big hug & kiss to your Mam! - xoxo
PS - sorry both of dogs (and DH too) snore like bears!

Hope Are you PUPO yet???

Sarahhope that your ER went great and you're now home and resting up :D

hugs & prayers to all of us - xoxo

Katie-- I see your point. My clinic will not transfer more than two embies unless you are over 40 or have crummy looking embies. Mostly because their success rates are > 50%, I think. Their twin rate is 25% when two are transferred. I found a discussion on-line that a Dr. Smith in New Jersey had with some patients. His views a pretty much exactly mine on the 5 day transfer debate whereas my RE has the "let's get 'em in theory" if there are 4 or less. Read this and tell me what you think if you don't mind. http://www.sharedjourney.com/articles/3vs5.html. Now I'm just waiting for the call with instructions  . I'm hoping to go another day or maybe two before trigger but I have one follie at 20 mm (how big can they let them get????), so he said it depends on my estrogen level. Waiting is hard for me as I am an impatient person to begin with! Oh, and to top it off, he said it seems a very small (5mm) polyp that wasn't there before is now right smack dab in the middle of my uterus! So if this is a BFN, they will send me to have that removed before continuing.

hello ladies, Good day! I hope everyone is doing fine. DH and I decided last night that we'll postpone the cycle to another month to see if I'll feel better. After going to emergency room and urgent care last week because of anxiety attack, the soreness of the electric shock attacking my body is still here, and the shivering internally is still there making me very fatique. Fortunately, I have appointments available next week to see a new therapist about chronic illness, my PCP, and a psychiatrist to prescribe me the safe med for going through the cycle. I hope I can feel better in this month can go back on the road. Love you gals! Don't work too hard! XOXO

Hi ladies!

Just got the call from the lab -- Beta HCG is 267!. Whooo hooo. We are way ahead of where we were the first time we got a BFP. I'm taking it as a great sign.

I promise I'll do personals later. Thank you everyone for all your well wishes and congratulations! DH and I are walking on air today :-)
