Merri; you are above the guideline so that's wonderful! Keep your energy positive (like I am one to talk) and yes, relax, relax, relax!

Katie; I would crawl over broken glass on my bare knees if I could get an ultrasound. If I were close to my clinic they'd give me one, but I'm in a smaller northern city with one lab and they are 'booked solid'. I'm just not willing to spend two days and another $1000 for a ten minute ultrasound 500 miles away. I guess I'm NOT willing to crawl over broken glass after all! LOL I agree that staying home is a good choice. A day or two is not going to make one bit of difference. I still envy all th early ultrasounds!

Lou I am so excited for your ER - hope it is totally painless and with EXCELLENT results :!: I always enjoy reading your posts and am anxiously following along.

Claud; I'm hoping your lining is just perfect for your transfer..... make sure you update asap. Keep everything crossed for a great number.

Gi, I agree - all it takes is ONE. How are you doing? What's the latest update? Isn't your clinic calling daily with the update? I'll bet all of them make it - it'll just be choosing the right one. My doc came to me when doing my ET and said they had three nice embies.. but he only wanted to transfer two. I was so sad thinking that I wasn't giving that third embie a chance...it was really kind of freaky how I thought of it as a baby right there and then.

Sarita; Did the doc give any reason for the fever? I hope things are good now. Good luck on your beta on the 5th! How are you feeling, still on bedrest? will you poas before your beta?

Lauren, good luck with your ET tomorrow. Do you know how many you have at this point?

AFM, I have my next beta Thursday and get results when I see my new doctor on Friday. I am crazy wanting an early ultrasound. My symptoms come and go - today my bb's were so sore I literally ripped off my LaSenza pushup bra when I got home and dug out a very old sports bra. Still no nausea...

Just got back from my SnS and still at a 7!!! They said they would give me to Friday but if it didn't increase to an 8 they are still happy with where it is...so while I'm hoping, wishing, praying to grows I know that at least I will be moving forward no matter what! (Unless it decreases by some crazy chance!)

Will catch up later w/ personals

Claud I've heard anything over a 6 is good enough.... take time out to do some quiet meditation! I was on clomid for a year (stupid small town doctor) and was terrified my lining would be too thin... but I think I was about a 8.3 or something. I had acupuncture that I think helped... maybe..

Trust your clinic - and good luck! When do they do the thaw? How many do you have in storage and how many will you transfer?

Claudia,

At least you are maintaining at this point and transfer is going to happen. Hurray!!

Lou,
cannot wait to hear how ER went!

Katie,
I will be checking the board to see how your u/s goes. No, I haven't been googling on # of embies transferred......the stats show that most times, all embies don't take. Last time we transferred 2 really nice embies and 1 so-so embie and BFN!. so I am trying just to take it an hour, or minute, at a time and not get ahead of myself.

Sarita.
Hope your fever goes away and your embie sticks like glue!

Merri,

Your pregnancy sounds like it is doing great. I know its hard not to worry, but I have a good feeling about your pregnancy! You are going to get to hold your baby before you know it!

afm, just got call from RE's office. 4 embies made thaw, so as long as they continue to do ok, we are going to transfer 4! I am going to call later this afternoon to see how my babies are doing. I am getting so nervous. DH is able to take me this time, well I will be driving and he will be sleeping!. Appointment is at 7:30 am, which means we have to leave the house at 5 am. Ugh! It will be worth it however when I get my BFP. PMA, PMA, PMA!

Ronda-4 made the thaw?!?!!? That's crazy but I truly hope one or two stick and that it was all worth it in the end!! Get a good night's sleep since tomorrow will be YOUR day!!!

Lou-can't wait to hear from you!! Fingers crossed for you hon!

Katie-YAH for ultrasound today!!!! Soooo excited for you to see your baby beans!!

Sonya-They defrost the morning of the transfer and let you know in the afternoon how many I will be transferring (My RE only wants to do 2 if they are "perfect" 8 cells but will do 3 ONLY if they have lost cells and don't look as good as they did before the freeze). I have 11 snow babies so hopefully they defrost nicely so I have more to work with in the future!!!

Sarah-hope you feel better! Are you taking anti-biotics for the ET? Maybe that made you sick????

Merri-your numbers seem fantastic but I know it's stressful to have to go back again for b/w  Hopefully the numbes keep rising nicely and they schedule your SnS.

gi-Hope your embies are doing well and htat you are all ready for your transfer tomorrow since they WILL make it!!! YAH for almost being PUPO!

Lauren-thinking of you today! Good luck

AFM...going to acupuncture tomorrow morning (hopefully before the snow begins to stick) and I am giving one last ditch effort to get my lining to an 8!!!!! fingers crossed

Katie99, I'm actually in my 2ww right now. I have my beta 3/1. After listening to some you girls last time talking about an antagonist cycle, I asked my RE about it . He said he didn't think it would make much difference, but would do it if I wanted. I got a whopping 6 eggs this time (only 4 the last two times). Four fertilized and they put two back on a 3dt and the other two actually made it to blast and were frozen. I've never had anything left over. That make me feel more confidant about this cycle.

Ronda – 4 embies is terrific news! You’re so close to being PUPO…That should give you a terrific chance for a BFP. Good luck with transfer – those little embies will be safe and happy tucked back in Mommy v. soon!

Claud – 7 is a lucky number! If anything over 6 is fine – then are golden  At you are maintaining, and that is the important thing. PMA PMA. Can you take a nice relaxing bath, or do a little shopping or treat yourself to a pedicure?

DandMe – Good luck with your next bw! I am surprised your clinic still wants you to keep coming in – I thought once your numbers are pretty high, they wait til u/s? I’m sure your next number will be as equally fab as the others have been!

Kerribell – Two blast freezies and two transferred? That is fantastic  Best of luck with the 2ww! I hope you are putting your feet up and relaxing!

Lou – We are dying to hear! Hope ER went great and you aren’t feeling too sick. Best of luck and we’re all pulling for you!

Gi – Any news yet about transfer? How many are you hoping to transfer?

Sarita – Hope 2ww is going well. How are you feeling?

AFM - Went in for bw this AM. DH will get the call this afternoon. I think I will ask him to tell me what the number is, I'm hoping it'll be above 900. If we get a good number, I'm hoping that will put me a little more at ease. Best of luck with all you pre-transfer/2ww ladies!

Hello all!!

I've been lurking since our sad news, but wanted to share "the rest" of my story, in case this happens to you or someone you know. But first - katie - I am just so, so excited for you!!! I can't wait to hear about your u/s.

Ok - so my initial beta on Feb. 6th was 18, 2 days later it was 19 and 2 days later it was 21. We kept waiting for my #'s to go down and thought it was a chemical pregnancy. About a week later, they checked my beta again, which was a 65. On Monday of this week, it was 193. All of that to say that my betas aren't where they are suppose to be for a viable pregnancy, and we now know that we have an ectopic pregnancy (where the embryo attaches in the fallopian tube). RE did an ultrasound yesterday (it's been a LOT of extra doctor's visits), and there was nothing in my uterus. So they continue to draw blood every 2 days. If my betas don't start going down, then they'll give me a shot of methotrexate, which will stop the embryo from growing. If we don't take the shot and the embryo keeps growing, then we'll have to have the embryo (and maybe a fallopian tube) surgically removed.

It's been hard with the "hope" that maybe it's going to turn out to be a viable pregnancy. So, I've learned that when you get a false positive, you want your #'s to go back down, so you don't have to drag out the process for several weeks. A BFN is certainly hard, but this has certainly been more difficult.

Anyway, we're getting through it. DH and I still don't agree on what step to take next (either IVF or adoption), but we're getting there. I just wanted to share in case this happens to anyone else down the road, so you'll know what to expect.

PMA for those with upcoming betas and ultrasounds!!!

J and C~ I am so sorry hun. Thank you so much for updating us. I kinda know exactly how you feel, while we are unsure if mine is chemical or etopic...my beta's have been playing games too. I go in tomorrow for another beta to see where my numbers are....which hopefully will be back down. Infertility is cruel....You are right, its hard enough without the false hope. I hope for your sake, you can do the methotrextate versus surgery to avoid one more complication.

DH and I have started looking into adoption as well. While we will likely do one more IVF cycle, we know we will not continue indefintely and want to know what we could be getting in to. So for the last couple days I have been researching domestic in state, domestic out of state, international and foster care adoptions. I am not sure which is worse, IVF or adoption. In terms of expense, its about the same....more in some cases and the legal risk period seems as emotional as the 2ww. Plus, we found out that an in state domestic (private versus through DHHS) for us is 35K with a 5 year wait. That was disappointing to us, as my son would then be 7 years old and we would be over 40. Not sure I want that age difference or to be starting over again when I am 40+. We wre kinda hoping for an early retirement  Oh I do not know. As I said, infertility is cruel.

So right now, unless my re says something totally off, DH and I have decided to go back to either clomid or medicated cycles without IVF until late summer/spring. Emotionally I am not ready to do another IVF to get a BFN and then have to say "now what". I mean, I am already researchign plan B but in my heart, I am not ready to go there. I know my delay may seem silly....but I am not ready. Who knows, DS was a clomid baby just 2 years ago...I could get lucky right???

This is it, I am PUPO...we transfered 2 embryos of 8 cells each. they said they were good quality and I have the pictures... This is really great. I everytime I go to the batroom I am afraid to loose the little embryos but this is not logical so i think of something else. Bed rest is pretty good, DH is doing everything for me and friend should come by tomorrow. I know it is supposed to be 24h only but since I have nothing else to do I will probably rest tomorrow as well...

Lauren: GL on your transfer today. You are transfering 2. When is you beta test? Mine is on 3/11, this is a long time...
Gi: GL on your transfer tomorrow. How are your embryos??
Sarita: Are you feeling better. What did your RE say about the fever...
Lou: is your egg retreival today? How did it go...How many egg did they get. Good luck...
Claud: I would also trust your RE, if they say 7 is good, then it must be okay. The important part is that you are not cancelled
katie: Did you go get your u/s? It was supposed to snow today as well...

Well I am feeling better. I did talk to my RE about the abdomen pain when he called me with updates and he said it was not uncommun. Yesterday I was feeling really bad (worst then the day of retreival or the next day) but today it seems everything is back to normal. So I am glad....Beta test is 3/11 so I will have to be patient...and last year I promised myself never to use the HPT again unless I was 100% sure to get a positive so hopefully I dont break down and dont use any evil stick...
Good luck to everyone and I am thinking of everyone. Sorry for whom I forgot....

Had my ET today! Out of the 13 eggs that fertilized they implanted 2 grade A 8 cell embryos. My RE said he could not ask for better quality. They were able to freeze 5 (one 7 cell and four 6 cells), so I am happy
about that. I have a really good feeling this time because I was dealing with my RE who knows me, for both ER and ET. My test is March 6, which is not too far away! They wanted me to go the 7th but I asked for one day early. It's a Saturday night and I have to go somewhere. I told my RE if positive I can celebrate, if negative I will get drunk...lol!

Positive thinking. Why the 11th? That's over two weeks!

Good luck to everyone. I have to do personals when I can get on a real computer.

Quick post....

ET went well this morning. RE said at first he drained 2 follies & didn't get an egg from either but the embryologist looked closer & they were both there! All in all, I got 7 eggs! He said he expects not all will be mature & fertilize but we are optimistic. DH's sample was better so they gave us the option of not doing ICSI, but RE suggested it since we had a good fert rate with it last time. So we are doing ICSI. I'm sore & tired so I'm gonna rest up. I'll update with a fert report tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Love you all!

lou,

Hurray for 7!! Lots of fertilization and dividing dust coming your way! I will keep my fingers crossed that your eggies fertilize and divide, divide, divide!

Lauren,

You are PUPO!. Sounds like your embies are great quality!. I am hoping for a BFP for you.

Positivethinking,

Hurray you are PUPO too!.

Claudia,

how are you holding up??? getting nervous about your transfer?? You are going to transfer 2 right?

J&C,

My heart is breaking for you. What an awful thing to happen. I am so sorry. I will pray you don't have to have surgery.

Miyaya,

I am glad you and DH are working towards an agreement. You do what you feel is right at the time. There is time for Plan B.

afm, I just checked with the lab (tech had talked to my DH and he didn't know what questions to ask). 4 embies are still doing well, so we are going to transfer two 7 cells (all intact); 8 cell (7 cells intact); 6 cell (3 intact). Tech said the 1st 3 embies look really good and the last embie is average. So I am revving up my PMA and getting excited! OMG, I cannot believe I am going to transfer 4 embies........I pray one sticks, 2 would be ok, anymore would put me over the edge! PUPO here I come!
