dogzrule-I'm glad you enjoyed your baby shower! I bet you just love seeing all the wonderful things and the teeny tiny baby clothes. I can't wait for my shower!
Well I failed my 1 hr glucose test. Somehow I knew that was going to happen. I will return in 2 weeks to do the 3 hr test. Keeping my fingers crossed that I pass that one! But everything else was good. Blood pressure, weight, measurement. I will start seeing the OB every 2 weeks now. YAY! That's going to make the time go fast!!
My doc admitted me to the hospital last night because a test he did came back positive. I forgot what the test was called but it checks the fluid around the cervix, which you secrete during contractions. My cervix went from 2.7 cm?/ to 2.1 cm/ in one week. When the test comes back positive, there is a 50% chance I would go into labor in the next 2 weeks...which is scary because I'm only 30 weeks this coming Monday! Plus I haven't fely ANY contractions!!! So they admitted me, gave me a shot of Terbutlane which makes you feel like you've done speed, and then gave me Procardia in a pill form every 6 hours. The contractions stopped;-) They also gave me the steroid shots for baby's lungs, if she decides she wants out early. I was souch a basketcase yesterday. Today I'm better and was sent home on strict bedrest, for a week for sure, then they'll recheck me, but most likely the remainder of the pregnancy. UGH!!! I am just praying she stays in at least 6 more weeks!
Tia: Oh gosh. u poor thing. Must have been quite a scare but am glad they've managed to control things. Rest up and keep telling u're little one to hang in there for at least 6 more weeks. Lots of hugs to u. Thinking of u.
We're completely snowed in here in DC. i feel bad for folks that are due this weekend. what a mess. anyway got lots of movies and books to keep me occupied.

Tia - Bless your heart honey. I had no idea, I haven't been on here in a week or so. Are you okay? How are you coping with everything. I am so happy that you are being monitored so well, it seems like you have excellent doctors watching over you. Chelo must enjoy getting to spend extra time with his mommy. Just know that there are great strides in medicine these days, I saw a show yesterday where 5 babies were born at 24 weeks and they all were perfectly healthy. You are so much further along then that. Try to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet cause baby will be here soon. I will keep you in my prayers.
All - I also had the most wonderful baby shower. An absolute dream! Something I never thought I would have. We had a co-ed and a little over 40 came. I had so much fun putting everything away this morning at 6am. I am doing well on my diabetic diet and feel so much more healthy, I am no longer swollen and have so much more energy since I cut out the sugar. Our little grl is so active now and we did a 4D ultrasound the other day and I got the absolute cutest picture of her, she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Oh, and we started lamaze classes and we watched the actual (unedited) birthing video and all I can say is OUCH!!!!!
Thanks for the well wishes Cressy and Babies! I'm doing good...just doing some continuing education online and staying somewhat productive. I went to the doc yesterday and he rechecked my cervix...it was similar to last time at 2 cm. He said continued meds and bedrest until 36 weeks when they will stop meds and let me do some activity because I'm considered "full term" then I guess. He said I could attend my coed baby shower this Saturday and that I',m able to go get my hair done-yay! It's basically like getting one outing a week and I'll take it!
Babies: How is th snow now?
Cressy: I'm so glad you LOVED your shower. I'm sure it was soooo wonderful having all your friends there and to put away all her presents
Hi Tia - I have been following you on facebook to see how you are doing. Sorry to hear about bedrest for that long but I am sure it will be worth it in the end. I hope the next few weeks fly by for you.
All your baby showers sound great, we should really start doing them here!
Well, I finish work in three weeks and am due in under 7 weeks now. I hope he is not too late, I really want as much time as possible with him before I go back to work in November.
Well, I started my hospital bag after my SIL was horrified that I had not done it! I found the bag I was going to use is too small for everything on the list supplied by the hospital.
We have both been well. I am feeling huge now and have horrible stretch marks on my front! I have been having really weird vivid dreams the last couple of weeks, anyone else?
Take care all, keep rested and well!

Well, I am ready for the baby now. I can't think of a single thing I need. I even went and puchased some formula, just in case.
I'm feeling great. Not exited about the delivery at all. In the lamaze classes I have been taking, they have pretty much terrified me with the videos.
I had the sweetest dream that I was giving my daughter a bath but nothing too vivid yet.
Super excited to make it to my 3rd tri-mester.
The diabetes has been manageable and the diet made all my swelling go down and I feel so much healthier now... and have much more energy.
We did another 4D ultra-sound and got to see our daughter and she has a lot of features from both of us (my checks, daddies nose). I could go broke getting those done but they are so worth it.
Me too!!!! I really don't like that fact that I have to actually click on a thread to see what it is, but before I could hover and the beginning would pop up. Grrrr.
I have a cold. Second one this pregnancy but I don't feel like death this time. I also have pink eye!!! I have NEVER had it UGH!!!! I have a completely clogged nose, incessant coughing (which means little sleep), the beginning of an ear infection (doctor told me to hold off on the antibiotics unless the pain gets unbearable) and pink eye. All at the same time. Shoot me now lol!!!
cressicaw - I totally know what you mean about the videos they show at the birthing classes. It makes me SO VERY happy that I am having a C-section. I know that sounds horrible to some people, but I am truly grateful. I cannot believe we are almost there ladies!!!!! YAY!!!

I hate the layout as well. Why do they have to and change things that are working perfectly well.
Totally agree on the videos. Did not need to see them.
Can't believe we all have made it this far. Not long to go now. She is so active these days. My shower is next saturday and then having one at work the following week. The only thing is that my crib and dresser has yet to arrive. Ugh! Hope it comes in time.
Hugs to everyone!

It actually took me a while to find the website. I agree with all of you..not crazy about the changes.
dogzrule- sorry about the cold & pink eye. The pink eye is the worst! And highly contagious...ugh. I think I have a slight sinus infection. My nose keeps running and my left ear feels like it's under water. Very annoying!!
I had my 3 hr glucose test Friday. They said if I failed I should get a call today (Monday) and if I pass then I wont hear from them. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't call me!! Everything else was ok. My iron is a little a low but not enough to give me iron supplements. Just need to increase the greens and red meat. And so far I've gained 23 pounds. Not too bad.
I hope everyone is doing ok! We're all on the short list ladies
How is everyone doing?! I posted awhile back, but apparently it didn't show up.
Things are ok here. I am at the dr 2x/week for non-stresstests. Twins have looked great so far. I've been having a lot of contractions. I have 1-2/hour that are strong enough to stop me in my tracks or wake me up if I'm sleeping. I'm still on home monitoring so that helps keep an eye on things. I was doing some research last night and most sources agreed that the average date of delivery for twins was about 35.5 weeks, which is 2.5 weeks away. We're really hoping to make it that far. Actually that falls exactly on my birthday! I've already made is further than any of the doctors thought I would, especially without having major complications along the way. I would like to make it those next couple of weeks for lung development, but from what I read if I do go soon the babies should be o.k.! They might need help with breathing for just a small amount of time. We all know the longer they stay in the better off we all are though.
I hope everyone is weel, I can't believe we will have our little babies soon!
I finished work today at last! I am so relieved as my legs are swollen and my back is quite painful now. I feel huge as well. So I plan to get my feet up now. My work got me loads of presents, I really can't believe how generous they are!
I have a glucose test tomorrow which I'm dreading. If our little Freddie has not arrived before the 25th I am having a membrane sweep, which will be at 39 weeks. The doctor said he would like to have the baby delivered by my due date
Take care all and looking forward to hearing how you are all doing

Hey. I guess everyone is counting down the weeks now. Am still working but will start teleworking after next week till the end. need to save my leave. also been getting lots of back pains and pains all over--always trying to figure out is this a contraction or just additional stretching. hopefully i'll soon know the diffference. after 36 weeks i will start getting non-stress tests done because of the gestational diabetes but otherwise all good.
hugs to everyone and good luck! can't wait to see pics of everyone's little ones soon. we've decided on the name Riya for our baby girl.

With this new layout, I can't re-read who I wanted to respond to.
Someone mentioned that their baby may be born on their birthday. Mine too. They are scheduling an induction at 39 weeks and that falls about 10 days after my birthday.
At my last check-up they said they are doing a ultra-sound at the hospital at 35 weeks to see if they need to deliver sooner. I am measuring 3 weeks larger than I should be, baby is growing like crazy. This is a symptom of diabetes. Babies gain a lot of weight. I have a feeling that she will be delivered early.
I am almost 33 weeks and my tummy is sooooo big. I wounder how much bigger she could get in 6 weeks. Scarry. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room. When she rolls over I can see a huge mass roll around my tummy from the outside. It is starting to get a little uncomfortable. She always dances for about an hour after I eat.
Now I am wanting to do IVF again in a year cause this has just been such a great experience and I haven't even had her yet. I am turning 34 on April 11th and am feeling that clock... tic tic tic.
This has been such and incredible blessing. I thank God everyday that we are going to have ou little girl. LIfe will never be same!!!!
