Gi -- Yes, I am somewhat relieved. Now comes the wait! Embryo quality is something I'm struggling to understand and how it relates to outcome. Seems every clinic has their own grading as well. The more I read, the more confused I am!

Kerribell -- Beta today! Can't wait to hear your number Miss + POAS girl! So exciting! :)

Sonya -- I put in 3 because the 3rd one wasn't "freeze quality". RE said adding the third ups my odds by about 5%, so who knows, right? My fingers are sooo tightly crossed this cycle I fear they'll break before the wait is over!

Katie -- No more shoveling for you! But WOW... that sure sounds like A LOT of snow!

Meganlynn -- Any results yet? Did you break down and POAS? Fingers crossed for you too!

Ronda-- I'm hoping for two BFP's for us on the 10th! Should be a lucky day, right?

Hope -- Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts!

Merri -- Only a couple more days for you to wait for your u/s! Hopefully it will go by fast for you.AH is assisted hatching. I hadn't heard of embryo glue either. But here's the explanation I found for it. EmbryoGlue® media is designed for embryo transfer. It contains hyaluronan and nutrients that are required to support the embryo from transfer to implantation and the biomechanical interactions during implantation.
EmbryoGlue® facilitates rapid diffusion with the viscous hyaluronan-rich uterine fluid, and contains recombinant human albumin to ensure safety, efficacy and consistency.

Lisa -- Wow! You've been busy researching your options. Sounds like you've done a great job gathering information. I really hope this doctor in San Francisco can help you guys. Best of luck to you!

Claudia -- I'm not nuts yet...lol. But ask me again in a week! Right now I'm just enjoyin' the possibility of being pregnant and trying not to fantasize too much just in case I don't get good news. Ugh! Good luck on your next u/s! I hope you get good news.

AFM -- It's only 2dp3dt for me. I'm doing well. I went for a massage yesterday, it was nice and relaxing. I have another acupuncture appt for Friday. They told me after transfer to come back in 5-7 days. I've been trying to research embryo quality and outcome because this time around mine weren't " but there's not much out there. My clinic grades 3 day embryos by number of cells (8 or more being best) and degree of fragmentation 1-4 with 4 being the best. Two of my embies were 8 cell grade 3 and the third was 8 cell grade 2. Because I had a 3dt, who knows what they would have looked like on day 5? I guess I overanalyze EVERYTHING, huh?

Question for all you BFP ladies --- did you have a 3dt or a 5dt, how many did you transfer, and what were the grades of your embryos (explain your clinics scale since a 1 is the best at some clinics)? I know blasts have a different scale altogether vs the 3 days.

Hi ladies,

Lou my clinic doesnt give grades so at least i havent another thing to over analyise  It just goes from one nerve racking moment to another!!!

Dandme just making amateurish cards for myself anything to keep busy!! Though back to work tomorrow

Lisa i really hope you get the answers you are looking for from this doctor its great to get another opinion.

Claudia this is never ending for you, will they just give you a break all ready!!!! Come on 8!!!!!

Ronda this 2ww is doing my head in all ready and i am only 4dp3dt!!! I have 4 tests staring at me everytime i open up my underwear drawer!!!

AFM so the nerves have officially kicked in!!! I am analysing every symptom or lack of symptom even though i know you shouldnt but its sooooo hard. Whats unusual is this is my 6th 2ww and every time i have always had sore bbs from the progersterone around 2 days after starting it, i am on it a wk and nothing!! i think they may only become tender from me poking at them to see it they are tender!! Have very mild AF cramps only on off not regular, and odd time lower back pain. So anyone who has done 3 day transfer when did you test, i am half tempted to test at 7 days so i can get a negative and then keep testing and comparing??? Oh but i am so nervous at the thought of testing but i know i will do its a matter of when. I have my next session of drip wednesday and i soooo pray its not a waste of time and that there is a little baby in my belly.

gi xxx
p.s would someone just knock me out know and wake me up when its all over

Hi, ladies -

I have been lurking on this board for months and have been part of the March/April board for the past few weeks. I was on this site 2 years ago when I had my DD through my first round if IVF w/ICSI. It's so nice to have people to talk to that get it :) Anyway, I thought I'd share my info on my last cycle that Gi and someone else (can't remember who off the top of my head) requested:

I did a 3 day transfer of 2 8 cell embies (I was 29 at the time, so my clinic only does 2 at that age unless there are several failed IVF cycles and/or poor embryo quality). One was a grade 4 and another a grade 3 (on a scale of 1-4, with 4 being the best). They also do a sub-grade but I'm not sure what it was on either one. I got pregnant with my DD from that cycle. I have endometriosis and my DH has low everything about his sperm....I think his morph this time around is 0 too. We'll see how that turns out at retrieval tomorrow.

My clinic only does a blast transfer if there are many 8 cell embies on day three to watch. They do a 5 day transfer in order to pick the best of the best (the best of the 8 cells) and to eliminiate high order pregnancies. When you only have 2 or so good embies, you know which are the best so they do a 3 day transfer. They take all embryos to day 5, even if you transfer on day 3. Whatever looks good gets frozen, otherwise they are not. You get a fert. report the day after ER and then that's it! No more updates. If your embies are good enough for a 5 day, they call you the morning of day 3 to tell you. I'm not sure if you get a grading report at that time or not - I've never made it to day 5. Last cycle I had 16 eggs retrieved, 15 were ICSI'd and 9 fertilized. I had lots of 6 cells mixed in there - all of different grades. None made it to day 5 to freeze.

I have ER tomorrow and will probably transfer on Friday. I forgot how bloated you get after trigger - not fun! Good luck to everyone on here! I can't wait to hear how everything turns out for all of you! Oh, also, I POAS like a mad woman last time. I started on day 7 or so - got a negative, which was good. I wanted to see that the trigger shot had left my system. I got a positive on a digital test on day 9. I POAS every day after that to make sure it never changed :) My beta was a 339 so my clinic did not do a second beta. They only do a second if your numbers are low. They do the first beta 14dp3dt or 12dp5dt.

Hi ladies - Just a few personals!

Heek - welcome welcome! You certainly have had some exp with all this madness- so glad it went well for you before -- here's hoping it's 2 for 2!

Lou - First cycle I had 5daytr with 1 Grade 1AA (best) blast - it was an elective single transfer. Second IVF cycle - 3 daytr with two 8 celled Grade A (best embies) with less than 5% fragmentation. Both time I got BFP - first one m/c. Here's hoping 2nd one we go all the way!

Gi - Crazy woman - back away from the stick! It's too early. With 3 day transfer, personally, I wouldn't trust anything but a POAS starting with Day 12. Day 11 would be pushing it, I think - but that's just me! I did POAS on 14dp3dt and got two lines as soon as the pee hit the stick   TMI :!:

My beta today was 189. My nurse told me I was very pregnant. Funny thing is that I was in line at Walmart when she called and there was a very pregnant lady in front of me and behind me.

Someone asked when I POAS. It was 12 dpo, or 9dp3dt. They transferred an 8 cell grade A (best) and a 9 cell grade B. You know, I was really worried when I got the phone call for the first embryo update. I was told "unfortunately, none of your four embryos are growing as fast as we would like to see them at this point. Hopefully they will catch up". In the end, they all caught up, two were transferred and the other two made it to blast and were frozen.

Hi everyone -

How are you all doing? I've been reading but not posting because there isnt anything new with me, same old same old.
I have another u/s tomorrow- so hopefully I'll have some good news then.

Kerribell - CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D I'm so happy for you! Come join us on the pg winter thread!

Lou I hope you're not working those crazy hours and being on your feet all day. How are you feeling? Resist the urge to google too much, it only makes you stressed - try to stay busy. Yes, I know its impossible thats why I said 'try'. We transfered 2 frozen blasts. One was hatching ( I think that was the one that stuck, because the other one was described as 'a little flat, but rehydrating well" HUH? It was grade 5A with 5 being the highest. You know all this means nothing though, right? Theres been many girls to get a BFP with an average rating and plenty of girls who were bfn with a high rating. Theres just no telling.
I have everything crossed for you as always :D

Lauren Whew! now down to a 5 day wait! You can get through this! Just hang on a little longer

Ronda Let the house go if your DH isnt taking care of things as you want to be. you can clean it to your liking later, the Fab 4 have to settle in right now!

Gi Stay out of the underwear drawer! I think thats the first time that I've ever said that! I'll repost the embie chart as soon as I finish this - xoxo

Merri Yay for the 3rd! I know your u/s cant come any sooner! :D Any more shopping yet? he hee

Tiger You have a big decision to make - you have to go with your heart. But how great to have such a specialist look over your Dh's chart. I know its hard to wait for the results though... yes, the price of all of this scary - but worth your BFP - X'd for good results!

Claudia Eeek! That first phone call! That must have set you off! Whew! for hearing that it was incorrect! I'm still sending you super thick vibes!

Sonya How are you feeling? I know how hard it must be on you to have to wait this long. Its the same schedule in the UK, I think. Hopefully your early scan put your mind at ease a bit. Just 1 more week, hang in there honey

3 Day Transfer:

1dpt... Embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt... Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt... Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt... Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt... Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt... Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt... Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt... More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt... More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt... HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

5 Day Transfer (if your transfer is done on the 6th day please adjust according to the timeline based upon how the embryo was doing by 1-2 days {e.g. blastocyst was hatching from the shell}):

-1dpt... Embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt... Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt... Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt... Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt... Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt... Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
6dpt... Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt... More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt... More HCG is produced as fetus develops

lou,

Come on lucky March 10!!. My DD and I both have birthdays in March, so I am hoping for good news. In response to your question on BFP, when I had by last DD, it was a 3 day transfer, two 8 cell A embies transferred (A being the best). I am hoping for my BFP as one of my embies this time was starting to compact to go to blast (of course one was last time too, so who knows!)

gi,
I totally hear you about the hpt's staring at you. However I agree with Katie, stay out of the underwear drawer...hehe, that makes me giggle! I am much more emotional about this cycle and I am only 4dpt. I am guessing its because I know this is the last one for me. I too am questioning every symptom, I have lower back pain (sometimes), crampy, and some sharp pains around my right hip bone. Could be something or could be nothing??!

Katie,
Good luck on u/s tomorrow. I cannot wait to hear if both of your blasts attached to momma! I am trying to let things go, and just take it easier. I have already delegated my dh to pick up the dogfood, softner salt and a few other heavy things I normally take care of.

kerribell,

Congrats!!!! That is wonderful!

Lou - I agree with Katie. I have heard of ppl getting BFP with low grade embryos and ppl getting BFN with perfect ones. Hopefully the next week and a half will go by fast!

GI - My bbs are usually sore starting after the ovidrel shot and lasting the 2ww. This time they have not bothered me at all. I have had some cramping in my lower abdoman the past few nights so I hope that's a good sign.

Kerribell - Congratulations!!!!

Katie - good luck with your u/s tomorrow. Thanks for the transfer chart. I printed it before but I left it at work. I was just thinking about searching for it.

AFM - I am 5dp3dt. My blood test is Saturday, which is only 10dp! I want to POAS too, but figure the earliest I can do it is Friday. I am glad I don't have them in my underwear drawer like GI does lol, cuz I would probably waste them. I have to buy some soon!

Oh Ronda - Your youngest DD was born on my 1st wedding anniversary. I am thinking that our due dates will be right around there when we all get BFP!!!!

Just too tired to do personals today although I read every single bit of news... okay. I do want to do a shout out to Kerri and say congrats, girl! You knocked up!

Oh, and I don't want anyone to think that in Canada they do u/s later than normal.... I am just in a smaller northern community (about 30,000) people with one small lab and two techs. they are worked to the bone, and I am not a 'medical emergency' so they are not too willing to accomidate my anxiety. If I were in the city near my clinic they would do all the u/s I wanted, and a LOT earlier.

I still don't have many symptoms, just occassional feelings of 'icky-ness' and fatigue and sore/itchy boobs. Peeing quite a bit especially at night, but that's about it. Maybe I'm just going to have a nice, easy first trimester!

Nothing new in my life at all, I will come down and do personal in a few hours....
I wnat to confess my future sin: I always swore I will not buy an HPT unless I know it will be positive but now I see everyone is doing it with great result so I will go and buy some. I have planned to POAS on Friday (9dpt), if negative, on Sunday, if negative again then I will do one more before the beta test on wednesday... so now let wait for Friday... and sorry I will do personals this afternoon, I am lazy to do it again, I had a long long list.....

Here we go girls.... I hoep everyone is full of PMA :D :D
Lou: Are you ready for triplets? I was ready somewhere that embies quality was important but not the only important factor for great pregnancy rates. Many women were pregnant from medium or poor quality embrios and many other women were not getting pregnant from perfect quality embies. This is why each clinic grades their embies differently because it is very subjective. I hope it works for you. Your beta test is before mine even if your ET was after mine… Cannot wait to hear your positive result…
Kerribell: CONGRATULATION… This is great news… :P :P :P
Katie: Tomorrow is your u/s, whaooo finally; I am so excited for you. Keep us excited….
DandMe: I was reading your blog yesterday. I really enjoyed it.
Hope: beta is tomorrow but you already know you are pregnant… Let us know what ‘s your number….
Claudia: I am sending good vibes so you get an 8 on Thursday
Tiger: I am impressed with your doctor in San Francisco… This is really great to have the option…I would try to get the positive and negative of all option and at the end, I would relax in silence and listen to my heart. Try to shut down all the noises in your head, the money issue and everything else. Take the time to listen and to do what feels right for you and your husband so you don’t regret the decision you take (whatever it is). Good luck and keep us updated…
Gi: Is your beta on 3/11 like me. I am sure we will get 2 BFP… I am having the exact same symptoms as you: no sore boobs (unless I poke them to make sure they are sore), weird on/off stomach “noise or tingling”, on/off mild back pain…I will POAS on Friday so let me know what you get and I will too…
Lauren: How do you feel? Any symptoms? Beta I son Saturday, whaoo this is early, great so you don’t have to wait forever…

Updates: Nothing is going on in my life at all. I am preparing for a job interview tomorrow but this is it. I am reading “Three Cup of Tea”, (great great book) and trying to stay busy. (I have been visualizing my 2 embies getting into my lining… they better attach themselves well…come on babies stick in there, get comfortable and grow…) 8)
I am supposed to clean the house and do laundry but I have been very lazy… Cannot wait to have a job so at least I can share the house duties with dh… :!: I am sorry if I forgot someone in the personals. I am sending love and PMA to everyone…
