Hi Becks! So glad to see you again! Can't wait to hear how your adoption process is going...I see you started last week. How exciting! I so admire what you're doing honey.

I am starting to get extremely nervous now. Test date is a week today, 1st April. I was very calm and relaxed about it up until now but the closer its getting the worse I am feeling. I know we are so blessed to have our little Ruby but we so dearly would like a sibling for her. And I think because I know this is our last chance I feel even more anxious :? To be honest, I have no idea how I got through it last time, I didn't even have Ruby to keep me busy! It must have been down to the incredible support from the lovely ladies on here!

I know there's nothing I can do but wait now, but as you well know, its hard...

Looking forward to catching up later.

Hi Ladies,

Becky glad all went well, good luck for tomorrow.

Ems, nice to see you we cycled together way back with sophie. Got everything crossed for your current cycle, keep the faith.

Carolyn, how are you doing?, hope your getting into a bit of a routine now and everything is falling into place. Before you know it they will be sleeping through. On a positive you do soon forget the sleepless nights, until they are ill and you get them again!!Big hugs.

rachel, hope the girls are ok and daisy is feeding better.

Sarah, glad your adoption is going through, hope it does not drag on too long, you sound busier than ever, i don't know how you cope.

Sophie, woo hoo congrats on your starting date, hope it all goes swimmingly for you.

Hope, miracle, Vicky, Charlie etc hi to you all.

AFM, Oliver has yet another infection, ear this time Sooooo fed up of all the ilness we did so well last year. Plus they are both cutting their eye teeth all 4 at once, nightmare. Hopefully that will be the last for a while. I am at work as one of my staff has gone off on paternity for 2 weeks. His partner is being induced today.

Missed you guys. :(

Sorry I don't have time to properly catch up... i hope i can do some this weekend. we've been out of town for the past several weekends - except one, and that one I was practically crawling on the floor between the bed and toilet.
Image

thanks for all the encouragement - after talking to a pharmacist, I decided to hold off on asking the RE for more/increased meds. She highly recommended I stick with what I have and not to increase. So... I've been sticking it out. End up throwing up a bit more, but still less often. Only 1-3 times a day, instead of 6+. honestly, i dont' know how anyone has more than 1 child. working full time, taking care of ds and dealing with this is wearing me out. hugs to you all.

becks, so happy to hear that things are going well with the adoption process! yay!!

hope to catch up soon.

Hello Ladies!!!

Lara, keeping my fingers crossed for both you and your sweet girl! School is going....very stressed at the moment. I am ready for a break! BUT...I keep on going! I have finished course one in the cake classes...I cannot take course two yet. It was too much for me, School, work, keeping up with the house...I am a stressful person as it is!!! XXXX

Becky! Great news on your class! Keep us posted lovely!!!! XXXX

Sophie!! WOO HOO!!!!! How fantastic is that? You will be starting in just 12 short days!!!! Do you know how many you will transfer?? XXXX

Charlie, where are you in tmt? Have you started drugs yet, or are you waiting? XXXX that dinner sounded fab!

Hi ya Hope! WOW 8 weeks already! I am so, so sorry you are sick. That just stinks. Where you sick with Gage? I hope it calms down for you really soon. xxxxx

Beach: So sorry to hear your baby boy has an infection again. Your little ones have been having a rough time haven't they? I hope he is better shortly! Poor thing! XXXX

Wishful, *hugs* you are having a hard time too! Both babies have colic?? POOR THING YOU! I know, you wouldn't change it for the world. I am still over the moon for you!!! Get some rest when you can! xxxx

Sara: Thank you lovely. That is very sweet!!!! XXXXXXXXX

AFM...well, we will be starting in just days! I am excited, but I have misplaced my PMA. I keep thinking that if it doesn't work, we are out all of that money...I know I am not spending near what you ladies spend on IVF..but it scares the heck outta me still. I hate that we have to pay to TRY for a baby... Anyway...enough of my gloom!

Loads of hugs to you all!!! XXXXXXXXXX

Hello ladies!

I hope everybody had a great Easter weekend! No chocolate for me, I'm on a diet (with a nutritionist), but I've lost 10 pounds already! Yay! I want to lose more, but I consider my weight to be baby-ready! :D

Hi Becky! Oh behave, baby, writing from work! ;) That's the spirit! I'm so happy that things went well and I can't wait to hear about what's next!!!! :D:D:D:D

Hi Ems, so, any news for us? *hugs*

Jayne, hi there, how is Oliver now? You sounded totally swamped with work and motherhood, I hope you were able to get some rest during the weekend.

Hope sweetie, it really sounds like you,re going through a rough patch... I,m so sorry to hear that MS is still there. I'm glad that the meds make things a little bit better, but still throwing up 1-3 times a day is way too often... :( I really hope things will get better soon. Remember, each day that passes brings you closer to the 2nd trimester... bye bye MS! :D Have you tried acupuncture?

Hi Carolyn! Oh gosh, colics, I remember those. We only had two solutions: a car ride or a baby carrier ride. Ironically, the baby carrier ride seemed to work way better with daddy. How are you, dear?

Hi Rachel, so how did the apts go?

Tracy sweetie, how are you? Still jealous of your cake decorating lessons. ;) The only frosties we have left were frozen together, they were 3. We have to thaw all three, see who survives and we'll transfer all the embies we can. I really don't feel like I'll become pregnant with multiples. But I definitely feel a BFP coming. Tracy, you've been with us through countless treatments, you know that PMA comes and goes, sometimes several times a day, an hour, a minute! It IS a rollercoaster ride after all. Yup, when you think of all the money you spent on tmts, it's depressing and it seems really unfair. But wait until you hold your baby in your arms, you'll focus on something else, I promise you that!

afm, back to work since the 1st, I like feeling like I have a purpose again, the commute is hell as always, but so far I've only been doing scientific work, which is great! :) Been to Quebec city for the weekend, we had summer-like weather it was amazing!

Hugs,

Sophie

Hi Ladies :)

Well …. Where do I start? First off ….. lovely to see this thread up an running again, will have to add the newbie’s (and the returning oldies lol) to our list.

Altho ive said it in the other thread ….

Ems: CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP :D :D :D it will be lovely to have a wee sibling for Ruby … well done my lovely. When is your first scan etc, will update you on my list woohoooo!! xxx

Sophie: Hey my lovely, have to say your wee man is too GAWJUSS for words :D . What a pretty picture he is with a mop of dark hair. How u getting on hun, have u started the d/r yet?? An you’ve lost 10lbs …. WELL DONE, that’s fantastic, ive eaten so many easter eggs that it will take a good while to get rid of them lol, but am starting again today (notice I said ‘again’ lol) Will tell Aunty u said Hi, im sure she will make an appearance soon and let u all know how she getting on …. I’ll make her hehehe xxx

Carolyn: Your not wrong about the weather here hun  lol. We had blizzards an our elect was off for 18 hours (not happy) but Brian being so clever, cooked us tea on our gas camping stove hehehe, and he bought a generator so we at least had heating and the TV – have to get our priorities right LOL. I guess ur away now, back on Sat. I hope ur having a lovely break with ur parents, imagine having to hire a trailer hehehe. Those boys of yours are so adorable, I love the babygrows u put on them … so cute :o) xxx

Miracle/Traci: Hello my lovely, wow – ur starting on May 3rd … will deff get u on the list, and don’t u worry ur pretty little head about counting down with us … we are counting down with YOU hehehe xx :D

Rachel: The whole process of the adoption takes agessssssss  so need summit to take my mind off the wait, any suggestions lol? How did the hosp appt with Daisy go hun, and whats happening with you? Are u back at work yet? Your pics of Ruby & Daisy are beautiful hun, ur one lucky lady. Hope all is well xxxx

Sara: How are things progressing with you hun, any more news on the adoption?

Vicky: How about u hun, have u ovulated on the clomid yet???

Hope: Lol @ Queen Becks – aint been called that in a long long time – its great to be back :D Thank you hun for your story about your friend. We are hoping to be able to foster (with the intention to adopt) basically what that means is that they will let us foster our child before we adopt them. That way we have a better chance of getting a younger child. We will only foster on the understanding that the child we foster will be up for adoption, otherwise having to give them back after a few mths would break my heart. I hope the sickness is easing off somewhat for u hun, theres nothing worse than feeling so sick all the time, especially with Gage to look after …

Jayne: What do u mean the boys are nearly 2!!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!  I cannot belive that! Where oh where did the time go to??? Its not long ago u were posting pics of double buggies and which ones u were gonna pick … arghhhhhhh wayyyyyy too fast lol.

Franca: Hello and welcome … xxx how are u doing? You must be close to EC by now yes? Or have u already had it done? I was on Suprefact when I did my IVF hun, I know im a little late, but if there are any questions u need answering, ask away. Please come an let us know how ur getting on, an I can add u to our list xxx

Charlie: Welcome back Hun xxx When do u start tmt for your FET or are u still at the thinking about it stage???

OK, my ‘preparation to adopt’ classes. VERY informative, very true and we thoroughly enjoyed them all. On the last day we had 2 adopters in to answer some questions we had, they told us all the story of how they came to adoption and how the process was for them. There were MANY times when I welled up with tears (of happiness of course) when they were explaining how they felt the very first day they met their son/daughter … it was so lovely to hear. One of the guys from the couple pleaded with us all to stick at this process, he said there will be times when u want to walk away and if it hadn’t been for his wife he would have walked a long time ago, but he said if u stick at it, the reward when u first hold ur child in ur arms, and when he calls you mummy/daddy – its worth every fight u put up to get them (that had me bawling lol)

Next stage for us now are the ‘police’ and ‘medical’ checks and giving 4 referees … we have to be sure we get them right as this is very important in the process of adoption, they rely a lot on what people have to say about you. Also my boss has to do a reference for me, but he is ok with this and has known throughout every stage of our adoption and all the treatment we had so is very supportive.

The checks should take about another 8 weeks now, so wont hear nothing until they have been done, then the home visits start … we are hoping to get it done once a fortnight and should only need between 6 – 8 visits, so maybe this will all be over for us by Oct/Nov (but we aint holding out any hope of that) then we have to get to panel … what a palava, but it will be worth it in the end …

Wow! Ive deff talked way too much today hehehe, ive a lot to make up for an u know me, once I start an I cant shut up LOL …. Better get back to work tho, catch u soon ladies

Xxxxxxx

Queen Becks :) wow... the adoption process is quite intense. i had heard it was, but i can't even imagine. your story about the father begging you to stick with it and saying how worth it everything is when you hold them and when they call you mummy and daddy - had me bawling too.... ;) what an amazing gift for both parents and child... i'm sure it is grueling, but what a wonderful, amazing outcome. i'm so happy you've got the ball rolling! ;)

sorry no more personals right now... just got home from work and one of my DSS is here (spring break) - so we are hoping to do something fun this afternoon. AND the good news is that i'm actually feeling PRETTY GOOD!! dear nausea- you can stay away, it's ok... we've had our time and it's now time for u to go... forever! ;)

oh, and sweet quick story - DSS went with us to our first OB appt today... so sweet. he got to see the U/S and the baby WAVED at him!!! :D he was so excited. seeing the pics are nothing like seeing the movement as it happens... he feels so special... what a wonderful moment!

oh, and becks, next time u update the list - if you want to change mine to Gage born Dec 2008, that way you won't have to update monthly.. as he's already 16 months... TOO FAST!!!

hugs & kisses...

Hello

Can't stay long, just wanted to say Hi and hope all is going well with you all, Becky will be starting our home study round July same time as you!!

Sophie you started your treatment yet think it was the 11th?

Miracle how are you doing is the time dragging?

Carolyn how about you have those babies started to settle into sleep at all?

Hope, hope the ms is abating a bit now,

Ems congrats on your BFP!!

Rachel hows Daisy doing?

Hi to everyone I missed xxx

OK gota go my father in law is waiting to walk me back across the mountain!! We are stuck in Spain due to the volcano and not sure when we are going to get back home, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeese send us some sunshine it is freezing cold and raining over here!!!!! Will try and log on again and see you all in a few days only have limited acces to a pc here out in the back of beyond!! But hey you know me always a bright side, I am not stuck in an airport, not trying to find a hotel room as we have a nice villa to stay in and at least if we do get some sunshine this week it will be worth the stay because we have had no sun so far!! I may come back with a tan yet and the girls are quite pleased abut missing school for a week too!!!
Annnnnnnnnnnnd I get another week of relaxation instead of running around like a headless chicken like I normally do, I am really re-evaluating my crazy work schedule whilst I have been sat in the villa watching the rain come down, time for a change me thinks!!!

Take care mi amigos!!

Love Lee xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Finally I am a mummy, we are about to adopt our beautiful little girl xxxxx

Hello ladies!

Okay, let's keep that thread way above those nasty ads. Pffffft where are the admins? 8)

Becky,
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! So touching indeed! It's GREAT that they had couples giving testimonies of their experiences! Wow, must have helped a great deal, made it more real, tangible. It is long indeed... And I think it depends on the country you want to adopt from. Here in Quebec, it takes around 5-9 months to adopt from China (though the delays change often), but it can take up to 2-5 years to adopt from Quebec (go figure). It's too bad that DH absolutely doesn't want to adopt, because I would certainly have considered adoption for a 3rd baby. Ah, well, he doesn,t want to 3rd baby anyway, lol! I'm rooting for you dear, and I'm sure you'll go through the roller coaster ride like the queen becks you are! :) And if they need testimonies from us, we can sure sing your praise like there's no tomorrow! Would look great in your adoption file, don't you think? ;) Thanks for taking care of the list sweetie, it looks GREAT!!!

Hope,
Oh, the baby waved at his/her big brother? Isn't that JUST TOO CUTE? :D What a wonderful moment indeed, you guys must have felt so close and happy all together. How is the MS now? Wow, you're almost ready to start your 2nd trimester. I hope you won't have too many headaches. That's what I remember the most from that transition... and of course, saying goodbye to Diclectin and the fatigue! Are you still on many meds for the MS?

Franca,
Hi dear, any news? Test day must be any moment now? I'm sending lots of baby dust to you! xxx

Lee,
Oh, you poor thing, trapped in Spain with nothing to do but relax and spend quality time with your loved ones! ;) hehehe I don,t know if I should cry because of the weather, or be happy for you! Yeah, the crazy lifestyle... :( When you stop and look at all the time you spend rushing and running, you start questionning some things. What are your options, work-wise? In my case, it's the commute. Because of my transfer to another hospital, my commute passed from 1:30 to 2:30 each day. Ah, well, it's only temporary, but it's surprising how little free time I have left once everything is done in the house. By the time DS sleeps, I'm really tired and I don't feel like doing much! Good thing though, we bought a numeric recorder and we record the things we want to watch on TV. Not only do we save time by skipping the commercials, but I watch much less TV that way. No more zapping. Please, before you leave, go watch a flamenco dancer in a nice cafe and have a little thought for me! ;) Muchos besitos querida!

AFM, well I've started my meds on the 11th (good memory Lee!!!!). It's been going well, and AF seems to plan her arrival for today or tomorrow. That means transfer day should be around May 5th-7th, something like that, and test day in a month. Other than that, nothing much to report. I'm doing lots of research work right now, I like it. I'm about to start writing an article on my data analysis, and I,m preparing a presentation for september. Now the rhythm has slowed down a little bit and just reading scientific books and articles tends to get a little bit boring. Hehehe I'll try to get out of my office and go read outside, or in a library or at the cafeteria to get some diversity! ;)

Okay, take care ladies, looking forward to having some news!!!
