Hi Everyone! Sister's wedding was a success!! It was so much fun & everyone had a great time - my husband performed the ceremony and he did a wonderful job. It was a smaller wedding (~100 people) so I got to see everyone and chat with family/friends that live all around the country now!

Went to my RE appointment this morning - did an ultrasound and they said my lining was a "9" (no idea what that means!) and that's right where they'd like to see it so we're still scheduled for next Monday morning (5/3) for the transfer. They said I'm doing great/right on track with everything so that was a relief! I'm so hopeful for this cycle!!!

They marked 2 spots for my husband to give my progesterone shots (that start tomorrow) Those are my least favorite but since I've already done them in my previous cycle, I at least know what to expect!! My DH has done it before, but I think he just wanted to make sure he was doing it in the right spot!

Hope everyone has a great week - I'll catch up today/tomorrow and then do personals - but I just wanted to give you guys the update!!!

Yaaaaay! I,m really glad you had fun at your sister's wedding!!! I'm also looking forward to a special wedding in June: my very first friend is getting married! When we met we were around 3½ years old, can you believe it? We were best friends in junior school, and then I moved, but we kept in touch. It will be amazing to catch up with my oldest friends, see their children... even my grandparents will come to the ceremony; my friends remember them well! So, what was the theme of the wedding, did you have nice weather, how was the food? (sorry, Martha is rearing her ugly head, I know... )

My my, no wonder you sound so joyful, it's all good news!!! :D:D:D I'm pretty sure "a 9" means that your lining measured 9mm, which is a nice comfy pillow for your embies to bury into! :) I think they want it thicker than 7mm or something like that. Wow, next Monday, I bet you'll be counting the days! How do you feel about being PUPO again? :D

AFM, the clinic called. Turns out I can stop the antibiotics tomorrow because I've had enough to have the desired effect. If I start estrogen patches, FET will be delayed two days because of the different dosage. I decided to stick with the pills because FET would be on a Sunday, which means I won't have to miss work... antibiotics are hard on the stomach, so we figured if we stop one of the two problematic meds, it might just do the trick. Since yesterday, the cramps have improved a bit, so... I'll give it a try. Bye-bye antibiotics fatigue, yaaaay!

Hugs,

Hi Girls! We went on a trip to visit family overseas for the past 3 weeks and we are back now. I need to catch up with everyone. We start meds tomorow and my second AF just came today. I have my baseline US and everything tomorrow. My approximate ER is 5/9 and ET on 5/12.

Bei - great list! I start stimms tomorrow! Fresh cycle. I used to keep a list for our other IVF cycle and I know how much work it is so thank you very much for your time! Plus it is a great way to have a quick update on everyone if you don't have time to go back!

mcfarland - great news on lining, crossing my fingers for you!

PMApsy - good to see you here Sophie! How was your date?

Kiz - so sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you and DH.

Anissa - hope you are feeling better, I also am sending you baby dust!

Purple - wow, I can't even run a mile! Tell me how you did this! That is amazing! I need to exercise more, I had gestational diabetes so now I need to kick butt and exercise so I don't have to take insulin shots again :(

Hi Ladies!

It's Monday! Back to the grind. Well, the weekend was not good. I got AF right on schedule on Friday afternoon, so I went into the clinic first thing on Saturday morning. I was so excited driving there, ready to get the show on the road! We started the u/s and everything was going well and then she went to my left ovary and a huge cyst has formed. They said, oh looks like we have a cyst...then I start sweating ...sitting there wondering what this means...they continue to the right side..all looks good. So I sit up and I'm like what does this mean? Well because of the cyst we cannot start this cycle. They are worried that with the meds that it could cause the cyst to continue to grow. I was totally devasted. Started completely bawling in the appointment and completely vented to the pour nurse...if it's not one thing it's another thing! When am i going to get a break. And to make matters worse, I just spent $400 on an ultrasound! The nurse felt so bad...of course.

I left the clinic completely bawling and was a crazy lunatic in the car by myself just bawlings and whaling away. It was just the last straw. I've been so strong throughout this whole process and taken the news day by day and continue to move forward. But, at that moment, I just couldn't handle any more bad news. I just want there to be one dr's appointment that I don't get bad news at. I just want to try...each time we continue to get cancelled! It's just so completely frustrating.

So, now we have to wait until next month, day 1 of my AF and get another u/s and see if the cyst has gone away. I know it doesn't seem like the end of the world having to wait another month, but when you've been waiting a whole year to start this process it just gets very frustrating.

I've backed away from the looney bin a little bit, man I was just crazy on saturday, but am still very sad.

I wish everyone the best of luck. Not sure that I will be checking the board, I just need to focus on other things right now. I feel like it is all consuming and I need to take a break. But, I really really will be rooting for everyone and hope the best for everyone! love you all!

tiger I am soooo sorry. Please take time for yourself and I will pray for your cyst to go away soon. We will be here for you when ever you need us. I will be thinking of you...........remember everything happens for a reason and this was just not the right time for you to do your cycle. I know that is easier said than done but hang in there and never give up!

bei I love the list - the little POAS PUSHER  I laughed out loud at that one.........Unfortunately, I am on HCG injections so it will be positive regardless.

Sophie I am glad your cramps have improved a little. How many are you planning on transferring? Come on Sunday...... I am doing alright. I can't POAS this time so there is no since in stressing over that part...........as for the HCG injections, this is my first time doing this and apparently it is suppose to help my body produce it's own progesterone somewhat - main reason from what I understand (which is not alot ) is that it is suppose to help me with implantation. I guess we will see..............I have not seen anyone else take these either and I have not been able to find alot of information on the web. Sorry so long winded, I am on crinone gel for progesterone one time daily, baby aspirin, Lovenox injections (blood thinner) 1x day, and the HCG injections every 3 days. My 1st beta is on 4/29 and I test again on 5/1..................

purplefish I am glad to hear that I was confused and you don't have OHSS, it is great that your doc noticed and is watching you closely. How are you feeling?

Mcfarland I am glad you had a great weekend and the wedding sounds like it was just perfect. Give us more details - we could use something else to wrap our heads around.....like colors, themes etc....................... Your lining sounds perfect, I was told anything over 7mm is ideal.

AFM I have had cramps like AF is coming all day. on my previous cycles except one I usually bleed at about day 10po-12dpo..I am 7dp3dt so it seems as though AF will be rearing her ugly head. Isn't it crazy...a the beginning of the cycle we pray for her to come and at the end we beg for her not to come  I was curious if anyone has information on how long hcg takes to get out of your system? I am injecting 2500 units every 3 days and all the research talks about the trigger shot taking 10-14 days......is there a calculation to figure how much leaves your system every day. I just wanted to have a good idea when I get my beta on Thursday..........still semi hopeful.....it is not in my hands anymore.................

Baby dust to all! Thanks for listening...............

Tiger- I am so sorry your cycle got canceled. I had 2 cycles canceled when I was doing IUI's and I was so devastated. My thoughts are with you, I know good things will happen for you!

mcfarland - I am glad to hear that the wedding was fun. Very exciting, you have a nice thick lining so that should be great for your transfer. Next week will be here before you know it!

PMApsy - I am sorry that you are feeling sick from your meds, can you believe you are almost there though. It will be coming up before you know it.

Anissabug - I really hope it isn't AF! I still have lots of hope that it comes out positive for you! I will keep you in my thoughts for Thursday. The only thing I was told about the hcg is that is takes 10 days to be out of your system.. not very helpful I know.

bei - thanks for the updated list, how is the BCP going?

riogirl - where did you go ovesreas, did you have fun? I started off not being able to run a mile either. I "ran" it in 16 minutes, I know people can walk it faster than that. I just made myself get up and go out every day, and every day I would run a little farther. After a while I grew to like it and improved a lot. I made myself a signs for beside my alarm clock to motivate me to get out of bed.

So I started my stims Sunday and they are fine. I think the Menopur burns a little when it goes it, and I have either had really bad luck the past two days or that shot makes me bleed. The lupron and the gonal don't bother me at all. I go in tomorrow morning for a follicle check hopefully everything is growing well!

Bei: Thanks for doing the list. Would you be able to change the last letter of my name to a b, instead of a d?

Anissabug: Don't lose hope. The day I got my BFP, I was cramping exactly like AF was knocking on my door. I didn't feel any difference whatsoever. I am wishing you all the best.

AFM: Looks like pretty much everybody will be doing transfers in May. It seem like an eternity until mine in June!! I am wondering if my RE is having me take BCP longer than other doctors. It really seems counterproductive to be on them anyways. I just want to get on with it!!

Update: My RE just informed me that she is going out of town May 7-17, therefor interfering with my schedule :( because of that they are going to hope that AF holds off for me and they will start me on provera on May 12. So now I am praying that AF DOESN'T come...ugh. My new tentative ER is June 2...

The end of the school year is crazy busy, but I will try to do personals soon. I have been keeping up with everyone though!!

Hello ladies!

Wow, the thread is really active today, it's so great! :D:D:D:D

rio!! Hi girl, isn't it nice to be together again on a thread! :) And a cycle buddies thread in addition! :D How was your trip, did you have nice weather? What is overseas for you, Europe or North America? :D Oooh looks like we'll be real close, you'll do ER when I do ET! :D

Tiger,
Oooooh no.... I'm so sorry that your cycle got cancelled!!!! YES a month makes a HUGE difference, heck, I refused to change my meds for a two-day difference!!! *BIG HUG* I completely understand your need for distance right now... DH's arms and tons of chocolate is the key... take care my dear, and I really hope to see you bouncing around the forum with a shining BFP very soon!!!!!

Anissa!
Bad girl, it's forbidden to talk like that! AF is NOT coming!!! Remember, your body will play ALL kinds of nasty tricks on you. If you ask around, you'll have people telling you they were absolutely CONVINCED that they were not pregnant who still got a BFP. Among these people, you'll have people who had absolutely no symptoms and that's what convinced them.. others who just had AF sensations... and some who had downright heavy bleeding, had to be dragged kicking and screaming for a blood test... and are now the happy mothers of a healthy baby all the same! You just can't trust any sign right now, we're too full of meds and hormones and all kinds of emotions all rolled into one big messy thing that confuses everything. Thanks for explaining your meds to me. To answer your question, I'll transfer as many survivors as I can. We have one package of frosties left, there are 3 frosties in it. They have a 50-75% survival rate for freezing/thawing, and for the last FET two frosties out of four survived, both times. So I guess we'll transfer 1 or 2. And if it's 3, I won't abandon my frostie... so he/she will go in too! I've never had more than one implantation, and anyway there's only 3% chances we'll have triplets, so I'm very at ease with transferring all 3 if by some miracle they all survive.

purplefish,
Hum, bleeding with your injections? Have you told the nurse about it? Oooh already a u/s tomorrow! Let,s hope we'll see tons of little eggies waiting to be reaped!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~sending follie waves~~~~~~~~~

Lisa,
Hi! Hang in there, June will be here before you know it! And in the meantime, we'll have the pleasure of your company!!! Sticky baby dust to you and belated congrats on your little bundle of joy!!

Ryann,
AW, MAN! That is just sad! I'll stop my AF jig then... I'm so sorry your cycle got delayed, but hey, maybe it's good because your RE won't be on vacation for a little while now? Hang in there for the end of the school rush! *hugs*

AFM, things are going great. Stopped the antibiotics and the cramps have almost vanished. They were on the light side anyway, so I don't know if stopping the antibiotics is what did it. I still have to watch that my stomach doesn't empty too much, but it's very tolerable. So we'll definitely stick with plan A. I'm very excited today because I've been thinking a lot about becoming a part-time dilettante caterer, and I'm finally giving it a try. I've learned tons of things from various sources and I'm now ready to try my first fondant cake. I'll make 3 different cakes before my FET (DS's b-day, and a Maypole celebration), and I'll take pics so DH and I can email them around. I want to offer my services for free ("clients" will just reimburse the food) so it's not a business yet and I don't have to pay taxes. That way I can gather experience, see if I like it and see if I can make a little business out of it. I'm very creative and always looking for new projects, so it really amuses me for now. I can't wait until I finally start working on my first fondant, tomorrow night. I found this amazing website owned by a professional cake decorator who shares a lot of info and really wants to help wannabe cake decorators. We've exchanged a couple of emails and she's really nice. I'm thrilled and I have trouble concentrating on work, but it's okay! lol!

Take care,
Sophie

PMA - Congrats to your baby boy for turning the big 1!!!! Our boy is now 18 months and such a joy. It is so different going through IVF with a toddler now, I feel so overwhelmed with him that I don't have time to obsess, or so I think  How are you dealing with the ET and rest period with a toddler? It will be great to share our experiences! The whole catering thing sounds great.

rypell - I will do a reverse AF dance for you!

Lisa- June will be here before you know it! When do you start meds? I was on BC for about 1 1/2 mos

purple - we went to Brazil, lots of rain and a flood but it was ok. Got to experience and hsare new things with our son, plus the best part was being able to spend 24/7 with my DH and boy! I am very impressed by your running and it gives me hope since I am horrible at running and get winded so fast. I need to get in shape a little to avoid gestational diabetes again. I start meds tonight so we are very close together. Menopur does sting a bunch, did you try icing it and having DH pinch a little? GROW FOLLIES!!!!

Anissa - I had cramps too and thought AF was coming but got a BFP last time, so hang in there and we are all praying for your BFP

Tiger - I am so sorry to hear you got delayed. I can't blame you for having a meltdown, this is such an emotional rollercoaster, I am soso sorry but your BFP is waiting for you, keep the PMA as hard as it is sometimes.

AS for me, went to RE today said everything is ok, lining is thick but ok since AF is here. I start 150 menopur and follistim 375 today, plus baby aspirin, medrol. Wow I can't believe it is here! I am super busy at work but can't seem to think of anything else! :)

Thank you all for the PMA I just had a moment. Cramping has not been as bad but you are all right, it could be a good sign :) Spoke to RE today and my beta has been changed to Friday 4/30 - Bei can you update the list for me? They made a mistake. No one will be there to get my results on Saturday so I need to retest on Monday 5/3. The waiting has not been too bad but I think these next few days including the weekend will be a killer

Well, I live in NY and today it is snowing, yes snowing...........yesterday it was in the high 60's!

I will do personals later, have to go get my daughter from dance class.....

My ultrasound today was great, they have 12 follicles on one side and 15 on the other and they are all around the same size, still small, but between 5-7mm, the lining was at 7. My estradiol levels were on the low side so they are upping my gonal medication just a tad. We are right on track and should be doing the retrieval between the 5th and the 7th... yay!

Just one quick note is all I have time for right now:

Anissabug - I thought for sure with my last IUI (that was positive) before I had the twins that AF was coming. I had bad cramps and spotting. I even scheduled the appointment for the IVF consult, because I was so sure that it hadn't worked. Surprise! So I am praying that the same thing happens to you!

Thanks everyone - I was pretty happy yesterday after the RE appointment (I got a massage afterwards/went to the chiro so that made the day even better!)

A few more details about my sister's wedding - it was in Columbus OH and the ceremony was in an old mansion and then the reception was at a traditional place...she wore a lace dress (the exact opposite of mine that was really poofy/big!) and the groom's sister/I were the only 2 bridesmaids and we wore a teal dress. Funny story - it came with straps but I hated them so when the tailor fixed my dress to fit perfectly, I didn't have them attach the straps. My sister's future sister-in-law pulls her dress out and there's straps - she goes "Didn't your sister tell him she wanted the straps?" and I'm like "nope, she must've forgot!" :) Finally pays off for my sister to forget all sorts of things - so our dresses ALMOST matched (except for the straps!) My sister was really sweet and played my DH and my first dance song at her reception too so we got to dance to it again! :) Food was great, cake was great - everything just turned out so well - our flowers were gorgeous too! They did this appetizer where they put mac & cheese into martini glasses - it went over VERY well!!!!

Today was the first time through this process I felt not like myself - not sure why, just felt more irritable / cranky / tired. Today started progesterone but no lupron anymore. My husband does a great job giving me my shots and I sat on the heating pad to make it a bit better...my husband actually left FRIENDS on to take my mind off of things (it's really the little things in life, isn't it?)

I hope everyone has a good week!
