Hello Ladies,
well i see that there have been some introductions so i'll go ahead, my husband and i are 28 years old. he is perfectly healthy and i have been diagnosed with pcos. I did 3 rounds of clomid before being diagnosed.we have been married for almost 4 years and have been ttc for 15 months. im a therapist and have two fur babies a golden retriever and a german shepherd...i started my Lupron today, no side effects but its still early...on metformin for my cycsts... and just got my meds last week. I was so excited to start today, i know its not over yet, but this journey has been so long and difficult for us that finally starting the injections felt so good...Our ET should be around June 12....looking forward to sharing my experience with you all and hearing about how everyone else is doing....so happy to be getting to know you all and what you are going through, its comforting to know that others are going through the same thing, it has been hard talking to others who just don't understand how hard it is to not be able to conceive on your own...thank you all for sharing..baby dust to all..

Hi all,

I am new to this board, but have been reading posts and empathizing with all of the up's and down's you've all had. This is our first IVF cycle, but we've gone through 5 failed IUI's, 4 months of clomid and almost 3 years of TTC the "natural way". trying to have a baby is quite the journey. I have PCOS and my husband is perfectly fine (figures right?) We are blessed that one of the best infertility doctors is right down the street from us, Dr. Schoolcraft...literally 10 minutes from our house. We met with him in February and we started the medicine protocol in April...Due to my severe PCOS, we knew that a freeze all was probable, which is what happened. We went in for the Egg Retrieval on May 1, and the 30 minute procedure lasted 1 and 1/2 hours...they were able to retrieve 32 eggs, and 22 were mature and quality, 22 were fertilized, half using the ICSI method and half with just putting the egg and sperm in the oh so romantic petri dish :) thankfully, 19 were successful...now we are in that stressful, anxiety filled waiting period. It's weird to think that we have 19 frozen "us" We are scheduled for our transfer on June 23, and I started the BCP last wednesay. I start the new medication protocol May 30. Can I tell you all how incredibly freaked out I am ? the retrieval was an AWFUL experience, I did in fact hyper-stimulate and was put on bed rest for 3 days to allow the fluid in my abdomen to decrease naturally before it moved further up into my lungs...It was also so incredibly painful! Needless to say...I am freaking out, I got my hopes up each time we had the IUI's and now thinking that IVF is our savior and it's gonna work....I am scared that my hopes are so high and I'm just setting myself up for a let-down :( My incredible husband is the rational one, and the optimistic one and he tries to reassure me on a daily basis. With that being said, it is so nice to have found a message board with others who have had similar situations, heart breaks, and HOPEFULLY successes.
I am looking forward to continuing to hearing stories and establishing supportive relationships!
I wish you all the best of luck in your journey to have a child, no matter how long the trip could be :)

Hi Zitinia,
I am going though the Fertility Centers of Illinois. I will be doing my transfer in Highland Park. What about you?

I am supposed to start tomorrow, but there has been some confusion with the meds. Hopefully it's all cleared up, and I can begin tomorrow. Seeing all the side effects everyone has shared is overwhelming, but I am glad to know about them. It seems quite a few of us are just beginning. I am glad to have all of you to chat with. Lots of baby dust to everyone!

Hi Michelle..it all is very overwhelming and it is nice to have others to share the experience with..My husband is supportive also, but it means a lot to have women to share the whole physical experience with...Sorry for your letdowns with IUI ..I understand the whole fear of getting your hopes up. I am going through the same thing..My first IVF failed so I am trying to be positive but the emotional roller coaster is very difficult....Why was your retrieval so painful? I was put to sleep for mine!!! but it sounds like you got great results...so sending you tons of baby dust and looking forward to sharing this journey :|

Zitinia-I am seeing Dr. Kavic through Loyola University Medical Center. She was recommended to me by my endocrinologist at Loyola. It's nice because she is the only doc, but we have to go through Hinsdale Hospital because Loyola is a Catholic Hospital and doesn't allow IVF.

Welcome to all the new June Cyclers..
I wish you all the best of luck in your IVF process. I had a very discouraging doctor appointment today. Today was my first US and Bloodwork appointment since starting the injections and we found that I had two large and ripe follies and 5-6 smaller ones that were not ripe and large. My RE stated that they will most likely bring me in tomorrow to check and see if the smaller ones grew or not. If not they are most likely going to cancel my round... This was such a big blow to me. I wasn't expecting this news at all. I know that I still have one more day for the follies to grow but I am feeling so defeated.. My DH and I did a multi cycle program through attain where we paid a certain amount of money for two fresh cycles and two frozen cycles and we are so worried we won't even get a shot at the first cycle.

I wanted to know if anyone has experiened some of the follies being ready and some other and if so were you able to have a ET :?: :?:
Sorry if my post was a little down. I am not wanting to be Debbie Downer.. ....

maybethistime - I think one of my RE's said something like that in the beginning of my first IVF cycle. Something about a dominant follie. you can get cancelled for. I think it is very early for them to cancel you unfortunately I was cancelled 2 cycles before but due to my E2 went high, which means I was going to hyperstimulate. You can ask GHOST about your follies . I think my follies in the end all caught up and I went through the cycle, good luck :D

Ruftuf- First calm down, you will have plenty of other opportunities to get freaked out @ during this IVF journey  Save your energy for when you will need it  Try to relax, after the first week of needles, you will get in the grove of IVF. It is the apprehension of everything, it can make your head spin. Try to keep yourself busy. I get stressed before each cycle waiting for it, not as much while I'm doing it. Mayb e cause I'm sooo busy with the meds and long drives to the RE appts I'm to tired. Enjoy the med-free days while you can

Thanks so much for the kind words... After reading all these post I have realized that I have not properly introduced myself... lol... I'm still new on the lingo so I apologize if I mess anything up! My DH & I have been married 4 years in Sept. We have been talking about IVF for about a year and have decided to go ahead with it. I mentioned that this is not my first pregnancy. We have 5 kids... 19 (his son) and 14, 12, 9, 61/2 (mine)... we're going for the Yours Mine & Ours theme.... really we'd love to have a child together and age is starting to be a factor....
We are both very excited but again as I said IVF is totally new... I coach a bunch and between work, mom, coach & wife! my days seem to go by so fast. It seems as though now we have decided to go ahead with IVF that my days have STOPPED!!! I as some of the ladies have said... "Can not wait for AF to visit"... Maybe I'll try to start those scrap books again... I have been journaling through the process just to get the feelings out!
I will be reading daily I'm sure to see how all of you are doing...I will be praying for all of you to have successful cycles!!

Hi Debbie'
so it seems we are very close in our cycle. today the injection hurt more than yesterday, i think my honey pushed it in a lil harder because yesterday a lil leaked out afterward. it stung for a bit but then i was fine. are you giving yourself the injections? My husband is going out of town for work next week and im thinking of having my mom do them for me, i just cant seem to be able to do it myself...i mean i cant even look when my husband does it. hes so cute though, not nervous at all...im finally off the bcp on friday, they make me so nauseated and tired, not to mention sore boobs for the last 2 1/2 weeks....im starting the rest of my meds on the 27th...cant wait...so my work doesnt know what i going through, trying to think of what to say to request the time off, its hard when the days arent exact...
