Ladies – I just arrived home and went to insert my vaginal progesterone and I noticed I am spotting. I can’t believe this is happening! It is dark, which I know is better than bright red blood but with my medical history, I am terrified!!!! My RE’s office is now closed and I am lying down hoping it stops. The only thing I’ve done differently is to start to wean off the Xanax. I only went down .25 yesterday but I do know that the withdrawal can cause some uterine contractions, so they suggest weaning very slowly. If it gets worse I will be going to the ER.

Please pray for me.

Angela - You are in my thoughts! Maybe you can go to the ER just for peace of mind tonight. You don't need the added stress of thinking something is wrong until tomorrow. That is unless you feel you are ok, which I am sure you are. A lot of us experience spotting and everything has been ok. I am glad it is brown though, that is a good sign! If you do go to the ER please keep us informed! If you wait till tomorrow I will be checking the thread often to read your post! Keep thinking happy thoughts!!!

Oh Angela, could it just be the suppository that didn't work well? I am sure beany is ok. Just body issues. Tell your RE she would know if weaning might cause bleeding... I know you are going to be ok girl... you are in my thoughs this night. I am praying for you girl.

Stephanie, babyluv, & Helene – thank you so much for the support and prayers. My DH and I talked it over and we decided I would go ahead and take all of the doses of Xanax and not wean off of it until my RE comes back in town. He will not be back until Thursday. So I took the evening dose and it seemed to calm my uterus down. The spotting is only now when I wipe but it is now light red. I haven’t gone through pads or anything, so that is good. I probably will have to have an early day at work tomorrow because I’m sure the walking around all day will not be helpful … I guess I wait and see how I feel in the morning. I will also call and speak w/ the nurses in the morning about the spotting and maybe I will try to start weaning again over the weekend when I can be on bed rest if I start spotting again.

This is the worst thing that can happen to an already panic stricken woman!!! Now, I am going to obsess about checking to see if I am bleeding anymore!

Good Morning Ladies,

Sorry I have been MIA but two days ago I became an aunt again!!! My brother and SIL and a beautiful baby boy with a head full of red hair!!!! (neither of them is a red head but her father has light coloring and my grandma was a carrot top!) Then I had my N/T scan yesterday which was good and bad  We first met with a genetics counselor who scared the sh*t out of me because DH's sister is a carrier of SMA (spinal muscular atrophy). I got tested months ago and while I am not a carrier, the way biology works there is still a SMALL chance we could pass on the gene if DH is a carrier as well. He got tested so we find out in 10 days so fingers crossed. That wasn't the worst part though...this is going to be confusing so I will try my best to explain. The DR who met us after the u/s said in my charts it said on April 16th that my b/w showed I had anti-bodies in it. I tried to explain that I was RH negative and had a Rhogan shot around that time because I was bleeding. When I checked my phone calendar it showed my shot was on APRIL 16TH! I was like "isn't that a coincidence that the day I got a shot was the day it showed anti-bodies?!?!" and why wouldn't my RE catch this blood results and let me know!?! Her response was she was NERVOUS and wanted me to get more b/w to see if I have anti-bodies in my blood. So now I'm waiting on the results and she has me super paranoid and ruined my excitement yesterday of seeing baby flick in 3D!!! I am trying to remain positive and hopefully I will hear back from them early today-I will keep you updated! I told people at work yesterday and am waiting for the phone call before I tell all my friends :D :D

Angela-So sorry to hear about the spotting-I know how scary it is and I would try to get seen ASAP!! Every time I had a bleed I would get an u/s to reassure me and I would drink tons of water and keep my feet up as much as possible. My spotting/bleeding lasted from week 5- 11 so hopefully everything is totally fine and the spotting is just part of the pregnancy!

Steph-So glad to hear that DH finally took your advice and is seeing a professional about his past and PTSD. I know how hard it must be to see your DD get the brunt of it but she sounds like an amazing young girl! So glad you got the rings off!!!

Helene-how was your scan yesterday? Sorry to hear about your problems with DH but open up the lines of communication. He must be very stressed as well and should not take it out on you so figure out better coping ways!!

Ronda-great to hear from you! how is your m/s? Sorry to hear about the pains of insurance!!!

Katie-what's going on momma?

Hazel-thinking and praying for your father!! Can't wait to see the beach ball pics!!

Here is my 12w3d update!!!

angela - I am so sorry you are now so scared again. I am sure it's the weaning and you tood a good decision not to wean for now... oh God I can't believe a simple thing like that could cause spotting. I hope the HR OB finds out the right stuff for you and I can't wait until your RE gets back too. Can't you get an u/s today or something?

claud - I would not worry about antibodies I am sure they are not alarming and they just are taking precausions... Did you get a picture of baby, must have been nice in 3D.

AFM - Well we had our u/s today and bw. it was the IPS screening like the NT scan for you girls, and so they mesured the neck distance between the bones. Well the result was 1.5mm which is normal I think. Last year at my IPS screening for Jamie, the distance was 2.5 and that's why it was so allarming and for a good reason he did have Downs Syndrome. So I think I am safe now to say this baby doesn't have downs... I will know more at the second bw in a couple of weeks. So the hb was 154 and he/she measure 6cm or something? So everything seams to be going good. I was really worried not to see the heal flick today but everything is great.

Have a good day everyone I am still praying for you angela!!!

Hi everyone -

I've been reading along, but I find that I dont have too much to talk about. I sort of feel like I'm in a holding pattern or something. I feel waaaay too good lately
I dont "feel" pregnant at all. I know that symptoms come & go but really, I feel physically great. Weird huh? I keep reading the books and waiting to agree with the symptoms they say I should have - but nothing except sore boobs. I really hate to say it but I cant help but remember that Lou also felt great w/ no symptoms before getting that devastating news. So I REALLY would like to have that u/s now instead of next week. But they want it done between 18-22wks and my DH said " Do you really want to go right at 18wks?" "Are you sure you'll get all the measurements"? So now he has me thinking that I should wait a little bit?
But on the other hand, I dont think anything calms us down other than a u/s, right? and I'm pretty sure that after this upcoming one I know it will be ANOTHER month+ wait - ugh! But I am going to call to make the appt today and I'll ask their opinion on when is best to schedule. Plus I HAVE to know if we're on Team pink or Team blue! I'm dying to find out!

BTW - Is anyone else having such crazy dreams every night? I wake up at least 2-3 times each night from these strange dreams and I'm like "What was that about"? They dont make any sense at all, but disturb me enough to ruin a nights sleep. And they're so vivid!

Angela - I'm with Claudia - yes, spotting is normal especially in ivf pregnancies, but you surely dont need all that additional stress, you need to get a u/s & b/w so you'll feel better. Do you have to wait until your RE comes back on thur? Can someone else do it? I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers -xoxo

Claudia - Congrats Aunt Claudia! I'm sorry that your b/w results got you upset - but really? If you had antibodies present on the same day that you had a shot - did they forget that part? I believe in my heart that you and little Flick are doing just fine. For your peace of mind, I hope that they call you early so you dont start to stress - xoxo

Malya - love the pic! Have a wonderful visit with your family this week! I have on & off acid reflux also and my OB said it was ok to take Zantac twice a day - feel better

Dodo - I've got everything crossed for the 24th! just 1 more week to go! How are you feeling these days?

Hazel - I'm hoping and praying that the surgeon's conference yeilds some much needed insight on your Dad's condition today. Hugs & prayers for getting good news today

Steph - Whew! I'm so glad to hear that Andrew is actively looking for help. I hope he finds someone he feels comfortable with so that he'll want to continue the process. Your DD sounds so mature and ahead of her years! She instantly realized why Andrew was acting that way - Thank God that she didnt get confused - she really is an insightful little girl! Now I see why you say she's 10 going on 20! Yay! You've felt movement already! I guess with 2 in there they are jockying for postion already? How wonderful that must have been. I hear you too my DH asks often how I feel, but its been awhile since he's picked up one of the pg books too. I guess its different for them.

Gi - I'm with you! This would be easier if they could just wake us up when its time to deliver! Ha Ha. How are you feeling honey?

Ronda - I never hated my insurance company until I started ivf - How are you feeling? Please tell me that your m/s is finally gone

Karen - How are you holding up? Are you still feeling good?

Helene - I cant wait to hear how your IPS scan went today! Hooray for your DH moving those boxes too. That was not funny. Love your belly pic. I need to take another one, but I swear I dont see a difference!

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

Katie - I wouldn't worry that your symptoms are disappearing. The 2nd tri is suppose to be the most comfortable! Yes, there are things that some may feel but for the most part it is three months of smooth sailing. :) Try not to think of the bad things that happened to others. I know we all do and wonder if we could be just like them, but chase those thoughts away with happy thoughts!! Besides the sore boobs, I have the headaches and stuffy nose. I never had issues like that before and never knew that they were pg symptoms till now. I think age has something to do with pg symptoms. I was pg 3 times at a young age and not one symptom! Now over 10 years later now I have had a bunch not to mention a eventful first trimester. UGH As far as the babies moving, ever since the other day I only think I feel it once a day, maybe two. BUT I know from previous pregnancies what it feels like and yes, I think two in there does make a difference. I have read that women with twins do tend to feel them a little sooner.

Helene - Glad everything looked great at your scan. I am sure there is nothing to worry about now. :)

Claudia - Congrats on your ginger nephew! How cute! :) Sorry all the talk about SMA didn't allow you to enjoy seeing baby Flick. I am sure everything will be fine. Did you get any pictures of Flick while you were there? Seeing Flick in 3D must have been pretty amazing spite all the commotion right? No guess on gender?? Cute baby bump by the way!

Angela - I hope you are doing ok. I am waiting eagerly for your update. I hope you get to see your little peanut on the u/s with a great hb and everything is just fine! Maybe they will switch you to the shot instead of the vaginal progesterone? It would be more reliable. Maybe you can talk to doc about that??

AFM - I got the test results back on my quad. Everything looks good. Chances of Downs is over 10,000 and trisomy 18 can't accurately be determined with twins pregnancies but they say it all looks great. I am not scared though. I am sure everything will be perfect, of course I have to have that mindset or I'll drive myself crazy. lol Ob appt on Monday and my follow up scan on Friday. CAN'T WAIT! They better give me genders!

Katie - I would do the scan first thing... but maybe your dh is right :) either way I am sure they can get all the measurements needed whenever you do it... the sooner always the better for me.

thanks Katie my scan went very well and boy was I looking for that flicker and worried until I saw it... so everything is good. I also don't feel pg at all. I find it almost impossible that this baby was there this morning and moving and I still feel NOTHING other then being so tired. Even the boobs are not sore or anything. Just when I go up the stairs then I am out of breath...

Steph - glad your scan results shows everything good like mine... lucky you get another one next week ... my next apt is June the 9th with my HR OB. So now other then with my droppler I don't know when I am going to know if my baby is ok still??

angela - how is the spotting going? Is it stopping yet? I am thinking about you girl.

AFM - we finally went to sign the papers for the house sell. The notary says that should be all that we need to do. We signed a power of atthorny to the other parties to sign everything even though we are not able to go there in person so the deal can close... We are hoping my dh doesn't have to go on Friday in Montreal, that is what they would like him to do but we should not have too!!

Hugs

Hi girls,

I am a bit behind so only able to do few personals as cant remember everyone!!

Angela spotting is so scary i really hope you can get an u/s to check if everything is ok. I know how freaked out you must be so go get it checked to reassure yourself otherwise it will drive you mad.

Katie dont worry its normal to feel like this sure i am worried everyday!!! I think will feel better when baby moves at least then there is daily reassurance and it wont be long for you i keep telling my little one to be an over achiever and start making its presence known soon!! The symptoms i have at the moment is itching all over - read my pregnancy book and this is normal i have to change all cleansers and moisturizers to hypo allengenic, i still get the odd cramp and other weird sensations which in a way worry me and another way i am glad as something is happening! Think i had my 1st bout of indigestion after dinner today (last time it was heartburn) as my tummy was sore and a bit crampy so took some gaviscon and was grand within 15 mins poor j gets freaked out everytime i get twinge.

helene you must be so thrilled everything went ok and that your little one doesnt have down syndrome. I hope you and dh get to resolve your issuses too much stress and tension is not good for you or little one, i am sure he loves you very much but so much is going on in your lives at the moment hopefully it will all settle down soon.

Steph sorry to hear your dh is going thro a rough patch but it will be great if he gets some help to deal with his issues. He may be feeling overwhelmed by everything and maybe he is a little detached from the pregnancy since he cant really get involved at this stage, when he can feel them move for himself he will prob.get more involved and excited.

Claud your bump is so cute!!! Hopefully your test results come back normal, the waiting is the worst!!!
