Hi ladies,

well I took a hpt and it was negative. I was 11dpt5dt. I'm not holding out to much hope for this cycle. Went in for my blood test this morning and my E2 is high and my progesterone dropped a little. I also found out that they were unable to freeze any of the other embryo's. Needless to say I'm pretty depressed. I have my beta testing on Thursday 7/8.

derberdo- I'm so sorry to hear you didn't get a BFP. How very disappointing. Will you be able to try again? Thinking of you, and praying that things look up for you soon.

blair- Don't give up hope yet. Hopefully things aren't as they seem. Could you call and ask for a beta test sooner, so you don't have to wait 3 more days?

This bed rest thing is boring, and a bit ridiculous, so I will be glad when tomorrow gets here and I don't feel guilty for getting up for a drink of water. My butt is full of knots, and they are super hard. I would break out the heating pad, but, it's sooo hot I don't want to sit on another source of heat. Haha. Anyway, thinking I will possibly test on Friday or Saturday, and my beta will be on the 12th. Hoping these little guys are nice and cozy and digging in deep.

derberdo- im so sorry to hear about the embies not making it to freeze ,i will send some prayers your way ...when is your first beta? also i was reading your stats and saw that you did 8 iui before moving on to ivf ...was that your clinics idea ,i have never heard of a clinic wanting to do so many before moving onto ivf. have you looked into other clinics in your area?will you do ivf again? sorry so many questions i just want u to get that bfp so very bad!

Annashope: I did the shot again tonight & it didn't hurt at all. I give my DH a lot of credit but it does bother me it doesn't even phase him like he's getting pleasure out of it...lol The numbing 20mins before truly truly works!! I'm so happy it does because otherwise I couldn't do it. My other cheek is still alittle sore but better, I may put a heating pad on before tomorrow. Good luck with your first shot!!!

I will get more answers tomorrow about my embies. They are supposed to call me tomorrow to give me an update on the embies & to see if I do the transfer tomorrow or not. We'll see, I'm a little nervous to get the call being I didn't talk to the nurse on Sunday when she called, she just left me a message. At the sametime I'm excited.

Congrats to your sister. Did she do IVF also?

hi everyone - hope you all enjoyed a great 4th weekend!

derberdo - sorry about the - HPT, but it's not over til beta says so! why did your clinic check your e2 and progesterone at 11dpt, but not your hcg levels? i would have thought you could get a beta results by now, especially if you did a 5-day transfer. did they only tell you today that your embies did not make it to freeze? keep PMA and good luck for your beta (it looks like we are both on thu!)

mellow - 3-day of bedrest, that's definitely extreme! i remember reading from ghost that research shows no correlation between bed rest and BFP, but some REs are very strict about it. ours is the opposite, he only made me lay down 15 min after the ET, and even then the nurse said it was more for the patient's peace of mind that for any medical reason. I ended up spending the ET day on bedrest anyway. not that the embies would fall out but it made me feel better anyway. hang in there, one more day and you'll be free to move around! good luck for the 2ww!

annpage & annahope - congrats on ER!! grow embies grow!! annahope - you may want to look into the progesterone inserts as a substitute to the PIO if they give you such a hard time. they are messy (and i heard someone say more expensive too) but they are painless. i can't believe nobody has invented a better way to give progesterone to women - painful shots mixed in heavy oil or messy inserts, there is no "good" solution, is there? i wonder why we can't take it as pills or why it's got to be mixed in oil?

millermommy - congrats on your great results & on the U/s, I am so happy for you!

afm - i am surprisingly calm about this 2ww. tomorrow will be 7dp5dt, and beta on thursday. 2 more days to go. i have not had any HPT temptations so far. i have no symptoms but have had really bad heartburns yesterday, which i never ever get, so i hope that's a good sign (i did not eat anything out of the ordinary so can't trace it back to food). it has been very hot here and very hard to go the holiday weekend w/o a cold beer, so i ended up buying non-alcohol beer. i think odoul is going to become my best friend if i get my BFP, it actually tastes ok, and definitely has the same thirst-quenching effect as a light beer on a hot summer day (and as a bonus, i did not get the "why are you not drinking" looks at the 4th of july cook-out!).

julia- heartburn is most definantly a symptom silly girl...and especially if you do not get it often. i am with you though when i was going thru my 2ww the whole time i tried to explain away all the little things as ,well that might be from the progesterone or oh i feel sick becouse im worried ...its so easy for us ladies to look over the symptoms i guess becouse we just want it soooo badly and just cannot believe it! as for me idk how many hpt i took even after it was a bfp lol.....even though its silly my mind said well there must be something wrong with this one hahaha....so on that note im happy you have heartburn....lol well u know what i mean.

Blair - I dida 3 day transfer, I waited till 12dp3dt to POAS. Try to wait another day to see if hormone level go up ,just might not have risen high enough. I was pregnant naturally with my DD, and POAS @ home and had a negative. Next time did @ DR and was positive. It can take time, but I now its depressing and frustrating though. Hang in there

AFM - Goin to RE tomorrow morning for b/c and us. I'm getting nervous We should find out how many sacs are in my tummy. My beta last time was 324, but I haven't had another beta in over a week. I am starting to feel pregnant . Feeling full, some nausea @ times and headaches the hormone kind yesterday. I hope and pray that everything is alright. Wish me luck !!!!!!!

Well I dont want to get my hopes up too much but I did see a faint positive line this morning. I was going to surprise my DH but after I took the test and saw that I just asked him what he saw. He said a faint line, but he saw it too (which made me feel better like I wasnt just crazy and making up the line). So I am hoping more than anything that tomorrows HPT shows a much darker line, but until then I am at least more hopeful about the beta on Thursday. So exciting to think we may really be pregnant this time!! This 2ww is killing me though. Today makes 11dp3dt!

mellow- my beta was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but apparently the office closes early, and the NP didnt want me to have to wait overnight for the results. She said she wanted me to find out in person, so thats why it got moved to Thursday.

jenice- Thanks for the positive thoughts. Knowing that you waited until 12 days makes me feel like tomorrow will be better.

julia- I think the heartburn is a good sign. Hoping we both end up with great news Thursday!

annpage- Let us know what the Embryologist says today, and hopefully you get good news and can go in tomorrow for the transfer.

deberdo- Sorry to hear about your - test. Hopefully you will still end up with a good beta.

Hi everyone, things are going ok. Just waiting for the call from the RE to tell us how our 2 embies did overnight and whether we are doing a transfer tomorrow. I am extremely nervous since there are only 2 embies. We just keep praying all the time that this is it since we will not be able to repeat this again for a while.

Annpage. Good luck today and hopefully you get great news about your transfer and we can transition to 2ww smoothly. Thanks again for the advice on the shots. I followed them as you said and numbed the area with an ice pack for 15 mins and the shot didn't hurt at all. However this morning the area hurts so bad!!!!!I was happy to hear you say that the pain subsides in a day or so but wow I did not expect it to hurt this much in the am. Will definitely do the numbing again tonight...lol DH did a great job and I told him to count out loud as he put the inj in so that he wouldn't rush and it took him all 10 seconds to inject the med. I am using a heating pad now and I think it helps a bit.

Blair I have to say if you saw a faint line it is definitely a positive sign and keep up the faith we are all pulling for you. My DS was conceived naturally and I got a positive on day 17 and he turned 10 yesterday.

Julia I truely admire your resolve in this 2ww. I am a POAS addict and decided to test out the trigger. I just cannot go into my beta without having an idea please I am soooo impatient. Good luck to you and baby dust

Annashope: Good luck with the embries. I know what you mean about being nervous. As they say it only takes one to work.
I'm glad it worked well with the shot. I have to say my DH is getting better the shot from last night doesn't hurt at all. I should still brace myself for tonight...lol I don't know what to expect but I plan on numbing all the time.

Blair: To see a positive line is good news!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

AFM: If my retrieval was Saturday morning, which day would be the 3rd day transfer? How do they determine which day the transfer would be - 3rd, 5th, etc? I'm nervous today I'm going for my ET but I don't know nothing about the embryos. I don't know what to expect. They told me nothing over the phone. I'll know when I go today. Nervous & excited. My DH got mad at me as to why I'm nervous but I don't think he understands. I'm nervous cause I don't know the quality of the embies. Today will tell all. They are offering Lasar accupuncture today after the transfer. I'm not sure if I should do it. Any suggestions?

hi annpage - for my RE day 3 after a sat ER would be tue (so they start counting the day AFTER the retrieval). don't worry about not hearing anything, most REs call on day 1 (the day after retrieval) with a fertilization report, and schedule the day 3 transfer. then you usually don't hear anything unless the call you on the morning of day 3 to cancel the ET and reschedule for day 5 if they decided to do a day 5 transfer. with 2 embies i can't imagine they'd consider a day 5 transfer, so it would be normal for you not to hear anything from the fert report until the ET on day 3. they usually do day 5 when they have a lot of embies to choose from, to make sure they put the best looking back in. but there does not seem to be any research that would say day 3 is any better or worse than day 5, it just seems to be a common practice (a lot of embies = day 5). just make sure to go in with a full bladder!! on my FET i had not drank enough and had to wait 1 hour until i was "ready" for the procedure (the nurse kept bringing water, waiting 15 min, checking my bladder, and start-over, 4 times). i could not wait to get these embies back where they belonged and got so frustrated my bladder would not cooperate. so drink up! good luck today, sticky baby dust

millermommy - i am so secretly hoping that my heartburn is a pregnancy symptom, but i don't think we are supposed to get symptoms this early so i don't want to get my hopes up (other than all the progesterone-induced symptoms: sore (.)(.), sleepiness, need to pee every 10 min, what's not to love).

afm - 2 more days. come on, thursday!

I was all sad yesterday when I read your post about the negative HPT. Even DH noticed and asked what was wrong. I was still postive that it was too early to test .....BFP can never be ruled out until beta is done.

Here is to say a BIG congratulations for your fint positive . The fact is... its a Positive ..I will keep praying for you for your beta on thursday.

I am freaking out and don't have the nerves to do a HPT. DH keeps on pushing me.. I have one in my hands right now but cannot do. I will probably test tomorrow.
