julia- Good luck on your wait over the next 2 days. I know I caved but my friend who has done IVF said to make sure and at least test the morning of the beta. She said that way you are at least prepared for the results one way or the other. And if it was going to be negative I needed to be prepared because I have to go to the appt by myself and didnt want to have to go back to work with tears running down my face.

dinagin- Thanks for keeping me in your thought. I really am hoping that tomorrow morning the line is darker, and I will feel a little more confident. Didnt we both have our trasnfer on the same day? TO be honest I still feel a little crampy, almost like AF is coming- but I tested anyway. When I got the negative the first time it wasnt as depressing as I thought it would be just because I knew it was still early. Good luck if you decide to test...I am waiting to retest in the morning (since levels are highest then).

annashope- Congrats on 2 great embryos!!! And good luck on your transfer tomorrow.

annpage- its completely normal to be nervous. I am still nervous about waking up and testing tomorrow. This whole process is beyond nerve racking and has even left me with ulcers. I was taking something for the heartburn i frequently get, but then realized it was pregnancy category C so i stopped. Just try to stay calm and know we are here if you need to talk.

Hi

I am new to this site and need some moral support, your posts have given me so much hope, as it's been a long 3 years trying to conceive !

I started off on clomid for 6 months and that did not work, I was not happy with the hospital I was at and went and had a consultation with a specialist fertility clinic who advised that I should not have had clomid as I am ovulating. So that was a year wasted, so hence I changed hospitals!

Had an IUI last December, but I had an allergic reaction to Suprecur and they then found a polyp. We still went ahead with the IUI but it failed. The polyp was still there after the failed IUI. I then had the polyp removed on my birthday as I did not want to wait another month for the operation and the polyp turned out to be bigger than expected! So spent my birthday in bed all day in hospital wearing tight support stockings and a gown and looking not very sexy, but I knew it was worth it!

Just had my first IVF, I have a high FSH level and this time was given 300 menapaur and only just about managed 6 eggs, all 6 fertilised, but only 4 were very good quality. 2 eggs were transfered on 28 June and the other 2 have been frozen. So Kate if you read this and are still looking for a buddy I would love to be your buddy as the 2ww is awful and I keep looking for signs, Sunday still seems so far away to be able to do a test.

This has been 3 years of an emotional roller coaster, of always having to jump another hurdle to get to the finishing line! I still can't believe that I actually made it to the transfer stage as I was so adament that something else was going to go wrong. A real bonus would be that I end up with twins!

Good luck to us all x

MG1- WELCOME!! I hope your 2ww flies by, and it ends with good news!

AFM--- Today was a great day!! DH and I got to go to our first u/s! We got to see our one lil bean!! Today I am 5 weeks and 6 days, and we were able to see the flickering heartbeat, and get pictures!! We are so excited!! The heartbeat rate was 99, which is good for still being in 5 weeks from what I have read. I guess is goes up 3.3 beats a day for a few weeks. The u/s tech and doctor both said it was fine as well. I go back next Tuesday for another u/s, and meeting with my RE, and then I will be released to my OBGYN. All in all, it was a great day!! And I have pictures on the fridge to remind me!

Gi - Soooo, good to hear from you and thanks :D . I went to the RE and have one sac in my tummy and my beta # 10,078, YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!! The nurse told DH that the # was good . I'm starting to feel preggo, with some nausea and headaches and I'm tired, YEAH !!!!!!! Never thought I would be soooo happy to feel like crap    I'm still nervous though, when will I feel better, maybe next week when we see the heart beat, I can't wait. I am so finding out the sex of this baby. Last time with DD I didn't and I swore I was preggo with a boy, I was so wrong  How you feeling these days ? You are so far along now, are you going to find out the sex of the baby ?

BLAIR- Sounds like a positive to me, YAY !!!!! Digital sticks are awesome cause they just tell you straight up and no guessing games with the shades of pink. Those ones always drove me crazy, cause you run around your house looking like a mad woman trying to find the best lighting in the house. When is your beta ? I had cramps also over several days, weird you wouldn't think that would happen and it felt like AF and it wasn't. I know what you mean about nerve racking, I now make DH get all the dreaded phone calls from the nurses. He comes to every appt now. This was my 5th attempt and I want him with me this was our last try. Good luck with POAS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got bad news today. My beta went down to 5 from 25. I'm stopping all my meds and waiting to get AF. They are hopeful that we will be able to do a FET the end of this month. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers and best of luck to everyone! I'll be checking in to see everyone's progress :D

Well I dont know whether this is good or bad news but the line wasnt any darker this morning. It was still there and faint, but not much darker than yesterday. I keep telling myself that faint is still positive, but shouldnt it be getting darker? I debated on going to get a different kind of test to do tomorrow before my beta, but cant decide if I should or not. My appt isnt until 10:15, and since I get up at 5:20a that will make for a long couple of hours. Any suggestions? Am I hopefully just freaking out for no reason?

As for the cramps I dont even know that you could call them that. They really arent bad at all, and not very often. I have however been getting a very bad headache off and on the past couple days. I want to think these are both good signs but of course I keep convincing myself one thing or another.

MGI: Welcome to the site. All the best to you. When do you go for your pregnancy test?

Byrnme: Thanks for the well wishes!!! Neat to hear the heartbeat & get pics!! I'm happy for you!

Hilda: So sorry to hear of your sad news. Just keep the faith for the FET at the end of this month. I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers.

I have some questions: I'm having such a hard time communicating with my nurses at the RE. They always seem like they don't want to be bothered with questions. I understand their jobs become routine but I'm new to this all I want some compassion & guidance. My DH & I went for my ET yesterday. I was sent to the recovery room to change into gown & robe & drink 4-5 glasses of water. That was interesting. Before we went in for the transfer the Dr. talked to us briefly it seemed Chinese). I'm not sure what quality my embryos were. But we had 4 that made it. 3 that are decent & 1 not that good. He suggested we put all 4 in, being my age (39) & my FSH is high. Plus they will not survive the freeze. So all 4 embryos are in. I'm excited & hope for the best. My question is: I would like to know about my embies that were put in: What questions should/could I ask them? I want to know the quality?
I saw my nurse on the way out & she looked at our picture & couldn't tell us the grade, she said she has to look it up. Do I call her today & ask? I don't appreciate what she said yesterday when I introduced her to my husband, she told my DH that I call her everyday. Which is not true at all. I take that as she thinks I'm a PIA. Because I want to know about my body which I'm paying alot for. Theses nurses really tick me off. I'm sorry for this but this is my way of venting!!!
Please let me know if you feel the same way about the healthcare professionals & the they treat us?
Thanks for listening :D

Annpage- I would be upset too. That happened to me once and a nurse actually asked me what I wanted from her...I was pretty upset. So I sent an email to my RE, letting him know how I was being treated. He got back to me, by phone saying he was sorry and that it was unacceptable to be treating in such a manner, and that they are there to answer questions if we have them. That would be my suggestion to you, let the RE know, and if you don't get a response, I would find a new one next time. Hopefully you won't need one though, will be praying for a successful cycle for you.

Blair- Get a different type of test. What kind were you using this time? I would need some peace of mind before going in too, keeping my fingers crossed that everything is okay. :)

So a question from all of you who have been here already. I am not feeling a thing from this progesterone. Did any of you have preg symptoms from the meds, or did any of you feel absolutely nothing? It's driving me insane. I think I may call and ask for a progesterone test today. My bb's haven't even become slightly sore from any of this stuff, including the HCG. So weird.

How is everyone?

So I was so nervous about the test this morning I decided to run out on my lunch break and opt for the digital kind. Luckily they had a 2 pack for $11 so I figured I would take one now even though the levels may not be high enough, and one tomorrow morning. I snuck into the bathroom at work and even though it felt like an hour instead of the 3 minutes I had to wait- it says Pregnant!!!!!!!!! I kept looking at it because I still couldnt believe it. I got so happy I almost skipped out of the bathroom stall. Woo hoo. Now I feel a lot better about tomorrows beta. Thanks to everyone for your support over the past few weeks.

Mellow- yes those stupid Progesterone shots make you feel pregnant. I felt bloated, and my boobs have never been so sore. Good luck with the rest of the wait.

Blair- Yay! :) That is good news.
I am only having constipation from the progesterone, my bbs aren't sore at all. It seems so strange to have all that extra hormone and have no symptoms that would even fool me into thinking it worked. Argh.

annpage - i can't believe the nurse was that rude to you. you are doing the right thing by asking questions, and you should continue asking them, and also let the RE know that you don't think they are not providing you with the information you need to give informed consent. that's pretty unethical that she would push back on your questions at a time you are being asked to agree on very big decisions. how did they expect you to make the best decision on how many embies to put back in? the RE makes a recommendation but you need to agree to it and know what it means for you & DH. what does that mean for your chances of pregnancy, for your chances of multiples. only you can make that decision based on what you feel ready for. and for a first time patient there are A LOT of questions and so much unknown and it's part of their job (and their fees) to answer them. i am ready to walk into your clinic and give them a earful  . but all that aside - you are PUPO girl!! congrats!!! when is your beta??

mellow - i have had prog. symptoms, mostly sore boobs. but some women go thru pregnancy w/o symptoms whatsover so i think everyone reacts to it differently (I had bad symptoms even when i could not get my prog. level up). if you are using inserts you may have less symptoms b/c your prog. is released directly into your uterus and not released thru the blood. if you are concerned your RE can test your prog. level to put your mind at peace.

blair - a faint line is a line, i don't think the "getting darker" is that visible day-after-day (from the pictures sonya posted i think it's hard to tell the gradual increase from one to the next, it's only when you have 4-5 in a row that you see it getting darker). but maybe you should give the digital one a shot instead if you really want to know today...

mgi - welcome!

jenice - congrats on the little bean!! with your beta that's going to be a sticky healthy one, congrats!!! i am so happy for you!

afm - you are not going to believe this. i wrote down that my beta would be 7/8, i told everyone it's 7/8. well i got a call from my RE 10 min ago asking me why i decided not to get my beta today. wtf????? apparently it was supposed to be 7/7 not 7/8. and now it's too late to go today and get same day results so i will have to wait til tomorrow. waiting til tomorrow was fine when i thought it was supposed to be tomorrow, but now it's just plain torture. there is NO WAY i wrote this date wrong. so i may give in and POAS. this is the most cruel joke on me ever. ARGH!!!
