Okay a little update on myself...

To be honest, my pregnancy is so boring and uneventful that there's not much to write. The nausea and excessive exhaustion finally left about ten or twelve days ago, thankfully. I haven't had a hint of spotting or cramping or anything unusual..... and actually according to the doctor, lost a couple of pounds even though I'm eating like a little hippo with a constant snack attack.

I won't get another ultrasound from my doctor until I'm 18 weeks.. on February 1st. However, my husband is working on the oil pipelines about 16 hours away, and we are meeting in Edmonton for his week of on January 21st and we are doing a self pay 3D ultrasound on the 24th.

I'm not 'showing' exactly although my jeans are a total write off at this point - there is no way I can do them up anymore and I am living in my three pairs of mat jeans. I listen to the baby's heartbeat every night and it's strong and healthy. We are now discussing names and wondering if we are having a boy or a girl.... :)

I'm already a bit worried about the birth - my entire vaginal canal split when I had my first son, and it was truly above and beyond the 'normal' pain for labor and delivery. My doctor gave serious consideration to my well being and assured that nothing of the sort would be happening this time... it's a long story but at my first birth lightening actually struck the hospital and the baby was crowning before a doctor could be found... I was 16.. and there were over 40 internal stitches.

Naturally, I am nervous - they say a woman's body goes back to it's pre-birth state if there are seven years between births. Yay.

Wow, Sonya! That is so crazy!!! I would be a bit nervous too. :) Glad things are uneventful for you, and you are feeling better. Now you can enjoy your pregnancy...have fun with it! The 3D ultrasounds are so neat, you guys are going to love it. It's great to have good, uneventful news!

Hi all,
I have been reading along but was waiting for my ultrasound before jumping in. We saw one beautiful heartbeat on Tuesday, we told the twins there is a little brother/ sister in my tummy and they keep giving kisses to my tummy. We are very happy and hopeful of having our baby in our arms in august. My edd is august 17th.

So happy to join you girls here,
Ana

Easley & Ana - Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancies!!

Sonya - OMG, your story is terrifying, YIKES!!! I'll be hoping everything goes well for you when it's time to birth your little one. My surgery is this coming Monday. The hospital called me yesterday and said we have to be there at 5:30am so I was glad to find out my surgery is really early in the day. Hopefully if all goes well, I'll be able to come home Tuesday morning. I'm feeling really good (little nausea in the evenings this past week though) and definitely showing. My friends 6-year old son came up to me on Christmas day and said "Amanda, you look like you're having a baby" so it's definitely obvious now. :D We can't wait to find out what we're having. We've had our names picked out for 2.5 years so now it's just waiting to see if it's going to be a Johan Diego or a Maribel Jordana. Can't wait to find out!!

Amanda congratulations on hitting your 12 week mark!!! That's an amazing feeling, isn't it?

I have to say that my second labour was also difficult but the actual birth was a lot less traumatic, with only a small tear despite a 10 lb baby.

Monday will be here soon - I'm sure you are anxious to get it behind you and get on with some healing and then a much less worrisome few months! Are you nervous about things? I also like early morning surgeries... we had our ET on a Sunday which was odd - just me and one other woman and the clinic seemed dark and mysterious with minimal staff.

We have some names picked out... We love the name Timber for a boy.... It's a long story but we're considering Timber John Cash... not so sure about a girls' name... I do like Isobella,... we'll know when we see the baby what the right name is. We're not wanting to know the sex although most people do. We get so few surprises at this point in our lives, we want to savour this one!

I'm showing but not really a cute little bump like you see on skinny girls..LOL I cannot get into my jeans at all, and just feel rather 'thick' through my stomach and waist. I guess it's time.. I'm in week 14 now but I do want to look actually pregnant and not just 'big'.

Girls we had our 6 week ultrasound today (exactly 6 weeks) and..... saw a beautiful heartbeat!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D I was almost in tears and DH recorded it like a video. We are actually measuring a bit ahead but that's perfect since due to the TAC I will not carry to my due date. But for now our due date is August 25 and we are ecstatic :D

Ryan I can't wait to hear how your ultrasound goes today!!!

We had our ultrasound this morning and saw TWO beautiful heartbeats! Baby A was 160bpm and Baby B is 153bpm!!!! They are both measuring 6w3d. DH and I are in shock!!!! They weren't "in the same plane" as the RE said, so this pic witht he 2 of them together isn't the most clear, but here are my babies!

Welcome and congratulations to the newest additions to this awesome board and on all of the great U/S pictures and heartbeats

It was nice not to have any appointments for almost 2 weeks. My next appointments are on January 5th. Going to my OB and the MFM on the same day. They are both about 45 minutes away so I'm trying to keep them scheduled on the same day from now on. We should be able to find out what we're having as long as the babies (or at least one cooperates) . Will also get my first cervix measurement, hopefully the number is good.
Still have the SCH, major bleed again 2 days ago, UGH! Will it ever go away? Still sick most of the
time too, maybe my body got used to the Zofran. Going to see if I can up my dose.

Happy New Year to each of you!

Wow! Lots of great news today. :)

Anna, and Ryann~ so very thrilled for you both. :) Those little heartbeats are a beautiful thing aren't they? Congratulations to you both.

Gina, those stupid SCH bleeds are soooo scary. I hate them. I have not had any active bleeding lately, but I have a constant flow of black clots...I wish it would go away, for both our sakes, we could at least try to maintain some sanity if we weren't dealing with this. :)

Stephanie~ so sorry you had to go back on the zofran. No good, I hope you start to feel better soon.

Anacris~ welcome to the group, and congratulations to you on seeing a perfect heartbeat.

Easley~ Yay~ So glad you got here! :) Happy for you!

AFM~ My butt is becoming one with this couch...and I'm sick of it. :) So far though, laying low is keeping me from having active bleeding. So I will obey the rules, and stay on my butt as long as it takes.

What is everyone doing to celebrate New Years?

Baby Blu: I'm sorry to hear that you are still sick. You should be coming out of it very soon.

Mellow: How do you feel about video games? If you aren't into them, now might be a good time to explore them as they are great time killers.

Ryann: OMG! OMG! How exciting! How did hubby react? Was he stunned?

AFM: I think I'm starting to feel our baby move. Although it's often said that first time mothers do not feel the baby this early, I've been experiencing very subtle yet very distinct sensations that seem like movement to me. I can only feel them when I'm sitting very still with my feet up - it's amazing!

My belly is also really starting to pop... Sometimes, it's almost as if I can feel the difference in size from one day to the next. My husband is showing a lot of interest it in, giving me belly rubs and just checking it out so I know it's not just big to me. A lot of people at work are starting to give me belly pats which I know are well meaning but it's awkward to have people touching my abdomen.

Happy New Year everyone! Stay safe and keep your babies snug and happy!
