hopeisallihave...the bleeding during BCPs was fine according to my RE.they did a blood work to confirm that..started my stims..went for ultrasound on friday.but didnt get a report on follicles.said its too early. have another one tomorrow. hoping to hear something positive..did yo start your BCPs?

Sweetpea614 - i started my stims on CD3 as my clinic was closed due to blizzard on last monday.. good to hear that you stated yours..welcome to the stimming club..let the follies grow...

Kimber Baby - even i am freaked out about the IM injections..last time i used crinone..but my new RE highly recommends injections..i have already ordered the injections..now there is no looking back i guess..:(

leoria - i noticed that my name is listed under both taking BCP and stimming group(sunshine.12) . you can remove the name from OCP/BCP list whenever you get time..but first enjoy your trip to greece!! its such a beautiful place..its in our wish list of places to visit..

Riya, GL for your beta on Sunday - I hope the cycle worked this time!

Bakersbaby - I hope your nephew is a strong little guy and is out of the hospital sooner than later.

Lou - your IVF is coming up soon... hoping for lots of eggs.... ugghh on the laundry though - that reminds me....

Kat - GL w/ the shots - its not too bad. Hope this is a lucky cycle for you.

Kimber - ITA w/ Riogirl... I wish I had collected some of my 35 yo eggs back in the day so I had them now. Its amazing how 5 years goes by and what it does to your fertility. At least if you save some now, you have them if you do find Mr. Right 8 years down the road even - and you will find him, and he will love your little son / daughter you are making now! GL

Sunshine.... You will probably have your IUI before me - my cycle doesn't even start for a few weeks. I will live vicariously through yours though for now!

Karian - yay! Thats going to be tough to wait for the 18th for an u/s but enjoy being pregnant!

Leora - opera, how exciting. My 15 year old son just "found" his voice this year in chorus. Funny, though, because he's a skinny little kid with a base voice. He's not much of a traditional singer, but has more of an operatic voice, if that makes sense. He's having fun with it though. That's awesome you are able to display your talent for others to appreciate!

Here's a question... what is the difference in protocol in an antagonist vs. agonist (whatever you call it) cycle?

AFM... not sure what is going on with me. I am two weeks into this cycle and my breast are still tender, I'm exhuasted and having hot flashes. I'm worried I have a leftover cyst producing progesterone. I haven't temped in a long time, but after doing so for over a year straight, I am familiar with my basal temps and coverline so I decided to temp this morning and it was well above coverline, so I know something crazy is going on. I guess this is going to be a long, annovulatory cycle, making me wait longer for my IUI.

Kat - a pizza place! Wow, you must really be sick of pizza. My DH is a computer programmer, but in a pinch, he ended up working in a bagel shop for a few months.... at first the free bagels were great - but even now (2 years later) I can't look at a bagel without gagging! Does your husband bring home too much pizza? I'm glad you did the right thing - it's really annoying when you can't reach your clinic and don't want to mess up a whole cycle over something so stupid.

Kelly - welcome to being pregnant! Basically - it's super surreal and a lot of waiting. Around 20 weeks, when the baby starts to kick, then it feels more 'real', but it's really weird until then. How far along will you be for your u/s on the 21st? Seems like a long time until then.... but pregnancy is all about just waiting for that baby to grow. So grow, baby, grow! I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew - but hopefully he'll continue to grow in the NICU and do just fine. Keep us updated.

Kimber -
as Rio and Sonya said, ask for suppositories instead of IM injections. Messier, but easier.

Riya - Welcome! do you plan on POAS (peeing on a stick - ie, a home pregnancy test)? Good luck!

Lou - we are going to Rhodes. It's actually super close to where I live in Jerusalem, Israel. Only an hour flight away, and no time difference (which can really eat away at your vacation time). I'm a practicing religious Jew, but not really sure what I believe in anymore. I know that sounds weird, but basically, I still practice as a religious Jew (Sabbath, Kosher, synagogue, etc), but I'm not really sure I believe in God. I have a really hard time understanding why all of this (infertility at 21, repeat loss, etc) is happening to me - and why God lets this happen. So, I consider myself practicing but agnostic. Judaism puts a lot of emphasis on belief in God - but I just can't believe anymore.... :(

I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA - went to college in NYC and met my (Israeli) husband. We've lived here in Jerusalem for about 3.5 years now. Hebrew is a freaking difficult language, but now I speak fluently!

Kynlee - as long as you think you sound good! That's why my DH only does karaoke with a bunch of drinks first! My friends usually groan when I do karaoke - they think it's not fair. :)

Karian
- that's a great second beta! congrats! No youtube clips of me singing (no webcam! -plus that can be a bit lame).... but maybe I'll dig up something special for you guys!

Sunshine 12 - sorry for the mix-up! I think I've straightened it out. How is your stimming going? Any idea when you'll get a ER?

---- notice to everyone: I may be the listmistress, but I'm far from perfect. Point out any mistakes and I'll fix them as soon as I can! Sorry in advance, since I *know* there will be mistakes!

Carol - can't you go to your RE and get some blood drawn (LH, FHS, etc) to see what is going on? If it's an anovulatory cycle, can't they give you Provera or something to speed things along?

As for agonist vs antagonist
- if I remember correctly, they work differently in the way they supress and stimulate the pituitary gland. Agonist cycles are the ones where you take Lupron to supress and have to start the Lupron the cycle before. Antagonist cycles are the ones where you start stimming on CD1-2, and take Ganirelix to suppress once your follicles start growing. With Lupron (agonist) cycles, you can only trigger with hCg; with antagonist (Ganirelix, Cetrocide, etc), you can trigger with either hCG or Lupron (weird, I know!). People who have regular ovulatory cycles - usually do Lupron agonist cycles - to suppress the body's natural cycle. People who don't have regular cycles can do antagonist cycles.

If you are high risk to OHSS - your doctor can recommend an antagonist cycle - since it's the hCG in the trigger that makes OHSS really bad. That way, if your e2 gets too high while stimming you can trigger with Lupron and avoid OHSS. With a Lupron cycle, you can only trigger with hCG, so if your e2 gets too high, your cycle might be canceled.

You can probably get more complete answers from other people (including Ghost) or by "Dr. Google". I was told that I do antagonist cycles, since I'm PCO and high risk to OHSS (high e2 levels both times).

AFM - nothing interesting today. Just work. no performances tonight, phew! But 4 more in the next 3 days! I'm getting excited to stop my OCP on Friday to get a period for my HSG.... crazy, no?

Hi ladies! I know this is going to sound silly....but now that I am back at work, I think I can find some time to do some personals!

Leora...Great job being list mistress! And I'm totally jealous about you singing opera. I used to be able to sing when I was younger (solos and such in the school choir) then something happened and my voice went away! Now DH just laughs at me because I am still not afraid to sing at the top of my lungs! It is SOOOO not weird to be excited about your HSG....just another step in the right directioN! I know I was totally psyched and then DH got flown to China last minute the night before so I had to take myself :( Wasn't bad at all though. I can completely understand you questioning God at a time like this. It seems so unfair and that he would do this to any one person. I had to make a real effort to continue to believe throughout the past year and over every bump in the road, and then through finding out my sister was pregnant, but found that having faith in something did help at times. I sure hope that you will be showered with blessing and be able to believe again one day very soon!

Carol...I would totally call your clinic and see if they can draw some blood. If you think soemthing funny is going on, you are probably right!

Karian...CONGRATS! WHat a wonderful way to ring in the new year! And with sucj great betas!

Kat....Congrats on starting stims! Such a huge step!

Lou...What happened to our Bears yesterday?! When they are on, they're on, but when they're off, they're off! Your NYE party sounds like a blast! Glad you and DH were able to go and celebrate this year coming to an end....since 2011 will bring you nothing but great things!

Riya...Welcome! The 2ww is such a drag...but you are getting there! You are added to my prayer list!

Bakers...I don't remember if I got on here to congratualte you on your awesome beta or not, SO CONGRATS! I can't believe you have to wait so long for another...ugh! Congrats also on being an aunt...how scary for both your nephew and SIL, but they are both in my prayers!

Kimber...Welcome! I am so not any help when it comes to self-administering shots, but all I can say is that it takes 1 strong woman to go through IVF, and I truly believe we can all do whatever it takes to reach our end goal. I wish you all the best.

Tammy...I sure hope this short break is what your body needs to bring you your sticky BFP in 2011! I will be keeping you in my prayers until I see it!

My free time is almost up, so I am sorry I missed some of you! I read daily, and think of you all so often!!!!!

Afternoon ladies! Hope this New Year finds everyone a BFP!! AF started today so Im trying to see the breast doctor tomorrow and see what his opinion is for my issue and see if I can work in an IUI cycle this month before hubby deploys. Ryann- Have you started having morning sickness yet? Is it really bad with twins?

Heather keeping my fingers crossed it all works out.

txcplforivf- isn't waiting the worst?

Leora- I'm actually not sick of the pizza as I cook a lot at home because if I wanted food from the pizza place I would have to wait till he got home at 10:20. He works 6 days a week and comes home early one night a week. We live in the middle of our workplaces and traffic is crazy going to the south shore where his pizza place is so I never visit there. (DH I'm sure is sick of it)

Everything is going well here. No longer moody so I'm guessing it was PMS not the Lupron;) One hiccup for next week. DH has jury duty on the estimated ER day. :( Hopefully when he calls the day before he's not needed so he doesn't even have to reschedule and deal with that mess.

UGH.....I just lost my post. How does that happen?!?!?!?

Heather - Sorry to hear about AF. Have you tried to POAS just to confirm? Best wishes next cycle!

txcplforivf - Have you gotten your second beta results? I'm so jealous you got to go so soon. Your first was a day before mine and I have to wait until Friday to get my next one!

Ryann - Thanks for the pregnancy wishes!!!! :D My u/s is scheduled for 1/21. I can't wait! I hope I am having twins too, but one will be just perfect too!

Leora - I will be at the end of my 7th week when I have my u/s. Do you know if that is far enough along to hear the hb? I hope so! So jealous you are going to Greece, but good for you!!!! That is on my bucket list!

Kat - Hope DH gets out of JD for the ER! What bad timing! Yikes!

I wanted to thank all of you for your support and prayers for my SIL and new Nephew. They took my SIL off the ventilator today after she woke up. I hope she gets in a regular room and can see her precious baby boy very soon. He still sounds like he is being strong. MY SIL's sister says that he is a perfect 29 week baby. She is a NICU nurse, so I consider her to be a good source!

AFM - I hope you all don't mind me still being a part of this thread. I am scared to move to the "other side" after just one beta. I am trying to decide if I am brave enough to move the date of my second beta up a day or not. I know it's only one day, but I am so anxoius and nervous to see what the numbers are! ARGH!

Have a good evening ladies!!!

Kelly- I had BFN on 28th. So AF was expected! I will keep your SIL in my prayers. I did 99 days in the NICU with Aimee. She was born at 25 weeks gestation and was only 1 lb 13oz. She would have been 1 years old on 01/12/11. Alot of people dont really understand what you go through when you dont bring your baby home and have to go back to the hospital for a long length of time. Its a totally different experience watching your child grow and develop outside the womb. Hopefully she is blessed with a wonderful staff of Doctors and nurses like Aimee was. They have pictures of her all over the NICU. So we are thankful that they will never forget her! CONGRATS on your BFP by the way!!! Looking forward to seeing your second results tomorrow!!!

tx- where are you?? Wishing you much luck on your test today! Hope things are rising nicely!!

Kat- I hope your husband can be there with you for your ER! Much baby dust to you!! STICK baby STICK!!!

Sunshine- sending you much sticky baby dust for your ER on Friday!!!

Ryann- Glad you are still doing well with your sweet little twin beans! Cant wait to hear about your next u/s!

Leora- you are doing an awesome job with the list!! Can you send us a video of your opera???

More later!! Much love and prayers to you all!! ~~ Heather

Hello everyone I hope you all don't mind if I crash in. I have been following you all since the fall borad just been a little nervous about joining you all. I love all the positive energy this board brings. My DH and I have went through one IVF cycle in the fall and had a positive beta and we were so excited and then we lost the baby at a day shy of six weeks. Was the hardest thing that I had to deal with. We have been trying to concieve for 7 years now and well this is are last attempt. DH insurance pays for two more IVF cycles so we are hoping to start again at the end of Jan or early Feb. I hope everyone is having a great start to a new year
