Kat - a pizza place! Wow, you must really be sick of pizza. My DH is a computer programmer, but in a pinch, he ended up working in a bagel shop for a few months.... at first the free bagels were great - but even now (2 years later) I can't look at a bagel without gagging! Does your husband bring home too much pizza? I'm glad you did the right thing - it's really annoying when you can't reach your clinic and don't want to mess up a whole cycle over something so stupid.
Kelly - welcome to being pregnant! Basically - it's super surreal and a lot of waiting. Around 20 weeks, when the baby starts to kick, then it feels more 'real', but it's really weird until then. How far along will you be for your u/s on the 21st? Seems like a long time until then.... but pregnancy is all about just waiting for that baby to grow. So grow, baby, grow! I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew - but hopefully he'll continue to grow in the NICU and do just fine. Keep us updated.
Kimber - as Rio and Sonya said, ask for suppositories instead of IM injections. Messier, but easier.
Riya - Welcome! do you plan on POAS (peeing on a stick - ie, a home pregnancy test)? Good luck!
Lou - we are going to Rhodes. It's actually super close to where I live in Jerusalem, Israel. Only an hour flight away, and no time difference (which can really eat away at your vacation time). I'm a practicing religious Jew, but not really sure what I believe in anymore. I know that sounds weird, but basically, I still practice as a religious Jew (Sabbath, Kosher, synagogue, etc), but I'm not really sure I believe in God. I have a really hard time understanding why all of this (infertility at 21, repeat loss, etc) is happening to me - and why God lets this happen. So, I consider myself practicing but agnostic. Judaism puts a lot of emphasis on belief in God - but I just can't believe anymore....
I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA - went to college in NYC and met my (Israeli) husband. We've lived here in Jerusalem for about 3.5 years now. Hebrew is a freaking difficult language, but now I speak fluently!
Kynlee - as long as you think you sound good! That's why my DH only does karaoke with a bunch of drinks first! My friends usually groan when I do karaoke - they think it's not fair.
Karian - that's a great second beta! congrats! No youtube clips of me singing (no webcam! -plus that can be a bit lame).... but maybe I'll dig up something special for you guys!
Sunshine 12 - sorry for the mix-up! I think I've straightened it out. How is your stimming going? Any idea when you'll get a ER?
----
notice to everyone: I may be the listmistress, but I'm far from perfect. Point out any mistakes and I'll fix them as soon as I can! Sorry in advance, since I *know* there will be mistakes!
Carol - can't you go to your RE and get some blood drawn (LH, FHS, etc) to see what is going on? If it's an anovulatory cycle, can't they give you Provera or something to speed things along?
As for agonist vs antagonist - if I remember correctly, they work differently in the way they supress and stimulate the pituitary gland. Agonist cycles are the ones where you take Lupron to supress and have to start the Lupron the cycle before. Antagonist cycles are the ones where you start stimming on CD1-2, and take Ganirelix to suppress once your follicles start growing. With Lupron (agonist) cycles, you can only trigger with hCg; with antagonist (Ganirelix, Cetrocide, etc), you can trigger with either hCG or Lupron (weird, I know!). People who have regular ovulatory cycles - usually do Lupron agonist cycles - to suppress the body's natural cycle. People who don't have regular cycles can do antagonist cycles.
If you are high risk to OHSS - your doctor can recommend an antagonist cycle - since it's the hCG in the trigger that makes OHSS really bad. That way, if your e2 gets too high while stimming you can trigger with Lupron and avoid OHSS. With a Lupron cycle, you can only trigger with hCG, so if your e2 gets too high, your cycle might be canceled.
You can probably get more complete answers from other people (including Ghost) or by "Dr. Google". I was told that I do antagonist cycles, since I'm PCO and high risk to OHSS (high e2 levels both times).
AFM - nothing interesting today. Just work. no performances tonight, phew! But 4 more in the next 3 days! I'm getting excited to stop my OCP on Friday to get a period for my HSG.... crazy, no?
