Ryann - what needle thing? I tried to look back but could not fin your post to karen! Take it easy and hope your bleeding stops

Karen - US twins - ours will always look so close - that is great! I did the Chinese thing and it said girl, then I looked back and did it for my son and it came out girl! So maybe they are wrong twice?

Amanda - hope you are feeling better!

I'm losing my mind. There is so much going on right now, I think sanity has long flown out the window. I have my last appointment with the RE this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed that things are looking better with this bleed. Can't wait to see how much they have grown in a week. :) I have no idea what we are having, so maybe that means it's a boy and a girl. I guess we have another month or two until we find out. :D I just really don't know.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Rio...sorry, I didn't post the details. If you hang a needle on a thread over your wrist it is supposed to map out all of your children. It will start moving on it's own, so hold steady. If it forms a cicle, it means a girl, if it goes back and forth it's a boy. For me, it has always circled, gone back and forth, then circled again, then it comes to a dead stop. So girl, boy, girl. I tried it on an older lady at work who never had kids and it never even budged. I've actually done it to every woman at my work, and any that already have kids it has been right. I've done it to my family too. I did it in a coworker the day she had her gender ultrasound. She was sure it was a boy, but the needle said girl....US sad girl too!

Ryann - sorry you had such a scare with the bleeding! It's terrifying to see blood when you're pregnant. Hoping your little ones are doing great and it was a one time thing. Over Christmas, my SIL did the needle thing on me 3 times. It would only go back and forth so she's thinking boy. Just for giggles we also did the needle over her and the needle didn't budge. The Chinese prediction chart said girl for us. DH & I are kind of thinking boy but we'll be overjoyed with either one, that's for sure!!

Rio - Thanks! I'm feeling a bit better. Slow going still but getting better each day. Got my staples out today so that's good! No more pully, stinging feeling from those.

Mellow - Hope today's appointment with the RE went well!

AFM, got to see the baby today on u/s when I went for my staple removal. I was almost due for my OB visit so he did u/s and all the regular OB stuff today too (saved me a trip back there next week.) Anyways, baby looked great, measured right on target, h/b 150, just adorable. My next appointment will be in 5 weeks (it was going to be 4 weeks but we stretched it out one more week so we could do the big u/s at that appointment, YAY, I can't wait!!) Glad I got my doppler though so I can check on the baby until that appointment.

Oh, I forgot to add, my TAC looked great on u/s. And after reviewing the pics & measurements of my cervix from today's u/s the doctor turned to me and said "You really needed this surgery. You seriously have no cervix." Most of the measurements he made were around the 2cm mark, some even less than that, so needless to say I'm extremely glad and relieved that the TAC is in place.

Oh Amanda! I am so glad you had that TAC put in. :) A little reassurance right there. Aren't the ultrasounds fun! I need to get a doppler, where did you get yours? I am going to be a nervous wreck between appointments now that I have been released from the RE.

I saw my wiggle worms today, and oh my, so beautiful. I could watch them all day. One of the babies was putting it's hand in it's mouth. :) So adorable. My Dh was bummed not to be able to see them, but I go to the MFM on Friday and we will get another sneak peek then. Yay! The bleed is still there, but looking better. Still big, but it's clear that there is no new bleeding. So good sign. I will stay on my butt as long as it takes to be out of the woods.

Mellow - YAY for a great report from you today!!! I'm so glad the babies are looking fabulous and that there's no new bleeding. Your story is one I think of all of the time when I hear the word "miracle"...to think of how your appointments went from devestating news to such a wonderful outcome of watching your wiggle worms on the screen - I'm just so happy for you! And to answer your question, I got my doppler on eBay. I paid about $60 and it came with a couple tubes of u/s gel. I know you can also rent them from places, but I just figured I'd buy mine and then resell it as used once I'm done.

Hi everyone,
Rio What a beautiful baby! It is incredible how fast they grow...

Klinger great that the TAC was successfull, now you will have peace of mind and great that the baby is looking fine.

Mellow i am so happy that after a rough start you now have two miracle babies.

Ryann I had a very small bleeding with my twins a little past 7 weeks, so I now it is very scary, thank God your babies are doing great.

AFM I am seriously thinking of getting a doppler, my app will be every 4 weeks and I think I would love to hear that heartbeat in between.
I have been feeling I am having a girl all along, maybe in part because I feel this pregnancy soooo much different than with my twins. Soooo... I decided to try the needle experiment... It said boy-boy-girl and then stopped permanently... I did it with my mom and it was right... It would be fun if we did it and then compare with the real results to see the accuracy :D .
As all of us I just pray for a healthy baby.

Hugs,
Ana

Hi - I am new to this site and want to join this community. My DH & I found out our IVF cycle was successful Dec 22, 2010. Needless to say Best Christmas Ever. Due August 30th with one baby, our first child. This was our third IVF attempt and I would love to have a place to share our experience.

Here is my info:
Me: 33, endometriosis; DH: 35, varicocele, low sperm count, but good quality
Multiple IUI's since 2007 - none were positive
IVF #1, Feb 2010, cancelled because poor ovarian response, converted to *another* IUI, BFN
IVF #2, June 2010, BFP, Beta #1 = 12, #2 = 56, #3 = 84 (all low, but growing)... 6 week U/S showed no pregnancy, so "chemical" it was.
IVF #3, December 2010, BFP, Beta #1 185. 1st u/s January 3rd - saw sac and everything was good. 2nd u/s January 6th (after two episodes of heavy bleeding) and again, everything was fine! FHR was 109.

Today I'm 7 weeks and going through the ups and downs of hoping, wondering, trusting that all is well and growing and happening perfectly. Looking forward to sharing experience.

Hi Ladies! I would really like to join the group if you guys will have me. I thought I already did, but didn't see my stats on the intro page. I apologize for being MIA for a few weeks....we've been moving. We moved from southern CA on Dec 29 and moved in here in northern Ca on Dec 31. We just got phone, tv and internet service yesterday. There's been lots of issues with the house. I will go into more later.

As for being pregnant. I am 10 wks. I had 2 u/s last week and they are doing great. I had one on Wed and another on Thurs because I was in a car accident Thurs morning. The babies are doing great, but it was really scary for me. I have been on 4 estrogen patches and 2cc of PIO progesterone. The PIO is torture. My ass is absolutely so sore, bruised and swollen. I called my RE and asked if I could switch to endometrin suppositories. He said that I could and to reduce my patches to 2. Is anyone else doing PIO or did PIO? If so, when did you stop? Now I'm a little nervous about switching. I did find an OB here, but I will be seeing my RE for a last appt in SoCal on Friday. We're going back this weekend and then flying to Hawaii from LAX on Sunday. If I can do it, I will try to continue my PIO until Friday, but I don't think that I can. There's no where left to stick me. I have bruises and scar tissue like you wouldn't believe. It's hard to get the progesterone to inject sometimes. If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

I will catch up on personals when I have time to catch up on my reading. I hope that you ladies are having a smooth and uneventful pregnancies.

So glad to hear all is well with every lady on this board. I love that everyone is just moving right along. :D :D :D

Welcome Karin (again) and Vicki!!!

Ryann - Just fyi, babycenter.com has a great SCH Support Group forum that's really helped me with mine. They're VERY common with IVF twinkies. Hope you're doing great and that the bleeding has subsided. Keeping you and DH in my prayers.

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion... I've already found myself in a rather silly predicament. DH and I are hoping and praying that we get a loan to add on to our house to accommodate the babies. If so, we will actually get to design a nursery! Long story short, I mentioned a color theme IDEA to my dear MIL and she very enthusiastically jumped at the opportunity to begin making quilts for the babies based on those colors. Super sweet, right??!! Beautiful little quilts handmade by Nana with love, what could be sweeter???

Well, today I started looking online at options for nursery bedding sets. We won't know until Feb 1st what we are having, but I'm trying to get some ideas now so I know what's available and what I like. They range from the color scheme I originally had in mind to some other variations that I've recently seen and fallen in love with. While surfing (and getting QUITE excited) my MIL called and I started telling her about some of the ideas I was LOVING. Very sadly, she said, "I thought we already chose a theme..." I should mention the quilts are very close in color to the first idea I had, however, I didn't know they were intended to be the official bedding on the cribs. As cute as they are, I don't even know for sure what I want to do in there. I thought they were meant to be blankets. Not what I was supposed to be designing the entire nursery around.

Anyways, this is coming after WEEKS of her insisting that one of the twinks HAS to be a girl, since the majority of her grandkids are boys. DH and I are perfectly fine with whatever God has planned for us. After 2 years of TTC, we just want healthy babies. I finally explained to DH how it was making me feel that she is constantly bringing it up and making such a huge deal out of it all.the.time. Bless his heart, he took a stand the next time she came over, politely reminding her that their gender didn't matter, they would be loved just the same. Which, of course, she agreed with.

I know her intentions are good. But, I want to do this with my husband. I want to pick their names, design their nursery, and all that good stuff with him. Without the pressure of her opinions. I don't want to hurt her feelings, but I wonder sometimes how much she's taking my feelings into consideration.

Thanks for listening. I really needed to get that out.

Karin - Congrats on getting the move done and glad you re-joined us here. Great to hear that the babies are doing great! And phew about the car accident, happy to hear you were all ok. I never did the PIO. I did the endometrin suppositories (3x day) and stopped those at 10 weeks.

Rebecca - Welcome! Nice to have you join us here! I like to keep up with Teresa (hopeforbabies) on the May thread since she was on our cycle group thread and I've enjoyed reading your posts over there.

Smithbaby - Welcome to the group! Glad to have you here.

Stephanie - Oh you poor thing! I'm glad your husband stepped up to tell MIL to back down a bit on hoping for a girl. And I'll be hoping she backs down on the decor too.
