Hi guys -

well my waiting is almost over and I am ready to join you all! Sinch Christmas I've been on 3.5 weeks of BCPs and am now on Lupron. I had my period this past weekend, supporession check this Monday (everything is supressed). Now I am just holding steady on lupron until I get the green light from my clinic to start my stimms. My calendar says I should start this saturday, Jan 29th. But the coordinator has to meet with the lab director and confirm the schedule. My clinic is a lot busier this year than 2 years ago! And my accupuncturist also says that a lot more people are going through IVF treatments all of a sudden. How weird! The infertility is in the air. Actually, i've heard that all the soy beans additives in our foods are contributing to male infertility. Because soy has a lot of estrogen. they are calling it estrogen pollution - which is causing sperm counts and quality to drop.

so, anyways, just a few more days till i get to start my stimms! I am supposed to be on 150 Follistim and 75 Menopur, plus 5IU of Lupron as per the usual long lupron protocol. This is my 3rd IVF ( 2nd fresh) and this is my first time on this protocol. Before, as you can see from my signature I was on the antagonist protocol.

Lyd10: Yeah on almost starting!

Jieb: Love the picture! Faces make things so much more personal. Seems like you are stimming along nicely with trigger coming up the end of the week. Hope that the weather cooperates! Glad that you seem ok in the OHSS area.

Kristen/krcaja: Did you pee?!?!

Leora: I will happily share the title of POAS Goddess with you. Would be an honor. How many tests do you have ready to pee on?!?! And, here is to one more BCP...last one for, shall we say? Over a year?!! Yes!! That will do just fine, because you will be pregnant and then breastfeeding.... :D :D

Speaking of POAS Goddesses...Tammy? Where are you? How are things going?

Kat: Adorable picture! I don’t think DH would mind it a bit. I am so sorry for all the pain you have been through...I cannot even imagine. Yes, this weekend will likely be difficult. I think a BFP on Friday would be perfectly fair.

Carol: How are you doing today?

Lou: Are you resting? Keeping up the PMA. You are in my thoughts.

Lauren: I just want to hug you...what on earth!? Call that insurance person and yell, scream, or cry. Or all 3. A medicated IUI is almost the same as IVF so it should count ONLY as IUI and not toward your IVF. I don’t know what to tell you to do...but, I am sorry you are going through this. It could still work, but you and DH have to decide what to do.

Hope: So are you triggering tonight?! And then a break from shots before retrieval. Yeah! Pressure in your ovaries is totally normal--they are working double/triple/quadruple overload!! What type of luteal support are you having? PIO? Crinone? So excited for you!!

Nwquiz: Sore has to be good...it means you are working your muscles. Lol.

Ryann: Thanks for popping in. I am patiently (NOT) waiting for the call from the doctor. He was busy at our scheduled time. I am on pins and needles. You feeling ok?

AFM: As I said to Ryann...my phone consult was supposed to be at noon (CA time), 3pm EST...but doctor was backed up and said he would call between 1:30 and 2 which is 4:30 and 5...It is now 5:30 and I am stressssssssing.

Margi - I am sorry you are still waiting on your consult call! If you decide to go there, would you take 2 weeks off work and stay? Or would you only go there for ER and ET?

Kat - Cute pic! Are you in the Northshore? Did you transfer 2? I did 2 with mu first 2 IVFs, 3 with my FET, then 3 with my 3rd IVF. We were planning to transfer 4 this time, and if we ever do a FET he said he would transfer all 5. I don't see why you can't transfer 3 if you want.

I hope it's not bad out tomorrow. We have to be there at 9:40 tomorrow.

Carol – Thanks for the reminder and advice! I gotta pick up a pineapple. While I was in Costa Rica I had the most delicious fresh pineapple I have ever had. I have a feeling I am going to be very disappointed with what I pick up at the grocery store tonight! How frustrating. I am with you, it is concerning that they are changing everything. I hope you get all of the answers you are looking for. Don’t stop until you do!

Amanda1979 – that’s great! 7 great follicles! Congratulations! I hope your ER goes great tomorrow. I can’t wait for the update.

Hope – I never refrigerated my lupron. You should be fine. YEAH on triggering! I don’t know about the sore boobs, I can’t remember, but the lower pain in the abdomen is normal. You have so many large follicles that it feels like a lot of pressure. That’s okay. Just make sure to drink lots of Gatorade! Okay!

Jeib – that’s awesome! I’m glad you are responding so well to the meds. She might want to slow it down a little bit to see if you can get more follicles to catch up! Love the picture! How cute!

Kristin – I’m with margi, I like to test every day leading up to the beta from about where you are now. Helps me slowly when it’s a negative. But, until the beta you could get false negatives. I can’t help it, I love POAS.

Leora – Ha! That’s hysterical. DH sounds very pragmatic, probably a great partner to keep you grounded. My DH is the same way. He thinks I drive myself crazy…but I am crazy….about POAS. I just want to see a gosh darn positive HPT! I’m with you, I will freak out when I see one…I don’t care if it’s not “real.”

Penny – Thanks for your support. I know, and I’ve said it a million times, I should change RE. I know this sounds horrible, but I don’t know that I have the energy to dedicate to finding another place. Not good, I know, but being honest. Like all of us, this is just so draining. If you were a RE and opened a clinic, I’d be there for sure. That would be an easy decision. Good for you for staying calm. I envy you right now. How do you do it? Please share. I know it’s not alcohol, which usually helps me!

Kat – exactly my thoughts. I’m sorry, I didn’t get a PhD and become a dr, because I would be terrible at it! So, that’s why I need them! I read this really great blog about infertility and thought I would share it with you. Interesting post on how not all Dr’s are treated equal. http://infertilityblog.blogspot.com/ Yes, you have been getting quite the storms! Yikes! I had no idea over 50”. I live in MN, so we’re used to it, but I still hate it.

Lauren – unbelievable. I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with this. I hate that we have to deal with the insurance BS on top of all of the emotional turmoil. If I won the lottery, I would set up a scholarship program for IVF/Infertility.

LYD – I have heard that too. They say that certain countries have lower populations because their culture eats a lot of soy and that it does affect fertility. I have cut soy from my diet completely. Congrats on your DS!

Margi – can’t wait to hear how the call is!

AFM: so after all of this, I am finally feeling good. I went in for my lining check yesterday and it was a 6. I can’t remember if I told you guys that. So, I’m hoping that my lining will continue to increase. I had my first IUI today and GUESS WHAT! So, we all know this is a new donor and sometimes things happen for a reason, so previous donor was between 9-10 million and this donor was at 35 MILLION today! So, 3 times better than the previous donor. So, I’m feeling really good about that. I have my second one tomorrow and I hope the sample is just as swimmingly. I went to acupuncture today also and just had a really good feeling about it. I really hope this works. I am doing all of the visualization possible. My acupuncurtist is so amazing. If anyone wants to know or has issues with lining, she started me on some herbs 2 days ago, 1) I’m drinking Red Raspberry tea, 2) Four Substances Teapills by Plum flower brand, and 3) Red Raspberry liquid herbal extract. Just thought I would share.

Tomorrow I am officially pupo! Can’t wait. Really.

Lots of love to all of you

Tiger - Wow 35 million!! That's great! The other good thing about DS is that both days you do the iui the sperm count will be the same. The reason I opted to do just 36 hrs after trigger is that the sperm count is good the 1st day but not great the 2nd. I think this is going to be the one for you!

Kat - Do you get INS through your job? How many cycles do they pay and is it 100%? I have Tufts GIC. It's not too bad, but once it's gone I need to see about getting a different plan.

What's the deal with the baby aspirin? My RE told me to get them for after ET. Not sure if I will need them now that we are doing iui.

Sorry POAS pushers!! I chickened out! But I am defintely doing it in the am! One quick question...I am on PIO. I have finally stopped spotting. Can you still get your period while on PIO 1 ml. I read somewhere that it wont come until you stop PIO. Is this true?

Hope-best of luck

Sweetpea--we only have 2 more days till BFP!! Keeping PMA alive!!!

Lou- How are you feeling!! Hope your getting lots of rest and drinking plenty of fluids!

Hi ladies,

Had RE appt this morn...took 2-1/2 hrs to get to their office in crappy winter weather (normally 30-40 min commute). Doc said I had to come in today no matter what, and I'm glad I did. U/S looked good and I triggered tonight! Yay! ER is Friday morning. Yipee...I'm starting to see the end of the tunnel.

Let me tell you...just did my trigger myself and I totally psyched myself out. I was soooo nervous - sweating, heart was racing...and it wasn't so bad. You guys were right :D Boy am I glad you ladies are here for support! I think my dog was laughing at me while I chanted to myself "You can do this, you can do this" :

Have to take lots of extra antibiotics (even a vaginal) for the retrieval since he has to go through the old large follicle (fluid cyst) to get to the good follies. Nervous about that part and getting an infection and potential harm to the retieved eggs. Keep your fingers crossed for no infection for me.

Hope - I'll be thinking of you when I do my own ER on Friday! Yay, retrieval buddies!

That's all for now. Baby Dust to all...

Tiger: Congratulations! You are 1/2 way there!!! Great sperm count!!

Lauren: I took baby aspirin my first cycle, but I don't think the research really supports it either way. At least that is what my last two RE's told me.

Ryann: Sorry for the delay.....but good news....

AFM: I am going to California!!!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) It feels unreal. He wants me to get my day 2 labs of course to make sure nothing has changed horribly, but he was confident in my previous responses and my ovarian reserve looks great for my age. It is just a matter of getting that "good egg". He was very nice and warm on the phone and I was such a nervous wreck. Depending on how many follies we get he may want to do biopsies on day 3 (or if we are really lucky on day 5) to check for abnormalities. If that happens we'll have to freeze and do a FET. I am expecting AF tomorrow or Friday, so Day 2 could be as soon as Friday or Saturday and then I will start BCP!! Then Lupron to supress (which I have never done before, but sounds like lots of you ladies have/are) and then BOOM!! Gonal-F and Menopur here I come....I can stay and be monitored here by who I like (I am going to ask my OBGYN if he is comfortable with it) as long as they fax everything the same day to him....then I get an 8 day vacation in Beverly Hills!!! To get my baby!! :D :D I really can't believe it. :D :D This is so going to work.

LD10-So glad you get to start your cycle soon. It goes by fast once you start.

Tiger-Congrats on being PUPO. :) So glad things went well. Did your accupuncturist put you on those meds?

Lauren- I work on the North Shore in Lynnfield on Rt One. I do not get my insurance throuhg my work as he's small office so I go through Commonwealth Choice. My cycle's have been 100% besides co-pay for meds. I'm not sure how many cycles in total they will approve but I did get 3 cycles approved immediately. Not sure if that's it though. I'm on my second. We put in 2 embryos this past time. The time before we only had one and they put it in on day 2.

Darlene- I'm doing well. I actually feel pretty good today. How about you, any symptoms yet?

Margi- Thinking of you and hoping your doctor has called you. Margi you posted as I was posting. yay so exciting I'm so happy for you. A trip out west this weekend. So they do this all in 8 days?? I'm so excited for you.

Kimber-I'm so glad your shot went well. I did the same thing the first time I had to do it. Than I'm like what this is easy. I actually just gave myself my PIO. Good luck at your retrieval. You will be PUPO really soon.

Getting your hair done is such great therapy. I feel 100% better. I lightened it up even more and feel a little sunshine in my life. Though when I came home someone had moved my parking spot holder. Chris said he's knows who it is and he will tell them to move. This neighborhood is pretty tight and the vehicle parked is just a visitor. It's very taboo to steal someone's parking spot. Some people will slash your tires if you do it.
