Ghost/Tammy - I remember early on when you asked Ghost about the protocol you were using he said something about it being a good protocol to freeze all and then do a FET later because of the endometrial receptivity. Do you think this could have been the cause? I did patches on #1 and #2 cycles and this time I did Estrace pills 3x a day. I am praying really hard for you Tammy!

Oh my goodness, Tammy! Good luck, good luck, good luck!!! i am so glad your estrogen is on its way. These doctors can be so stubborn and errogant. They think they are gods sometimes. It wont hurt to give you the estrogen - then just give it to you - who cares that there havent been conclusive studies about this! There have been conclusive studies about a lot of stuff - this whole field is less than 30 years old.
Oh i hope, hope, hope, your baby will hold start thriving now!!!!

Come on, baby - you can do it!!!

Tammy - I am so sorry you are going through this! I don't know what my E2 was, but my clinic does check it at 7dpo. Their standard protocol is also to stay on the Estrace 2mg 2x a day until 10 weeks (same amount of time I stayed on the progesterone.) Still hoping and praying that your beta continues to rise!!

Tammy I am soooooo sorry you are dealing with this again. Praying the extra estrogen will help. I don't know what my E2 was during the 2ww, but I did take estrace to thicken my lining (did not take it the first two cycles...first time I didn't need it, but could have used it the second time for sure. Glad she prescribed it the third go round) a few days before ER until I was about 8 weeks pregnant. Apparently it's good for something.

OMG...GHOST AND GIRLS!!! LOOKIE!!! The test strip is darker this morning...I can even catch it on camera and see it without holding it up to the light now! The comparison test from yesterday...is a positive too...but can only be seen when held to the light and squinting. Maybe there was 2...and maybe we caught the estrogen issue in time for the second one. Estrogen is like oxygen! MY BABY IS GROWING NOW!!! :D

Thanks Ghost!

Can you tell me how fast estrogen takes to start increasing? I was on 2 patches until 11am yesterday...when I added 2 more patches at 11am...and then started the 1st estrace 2mg pill vaginally at 5:30pm last night and then again at 11:30pm...which is all I got in me before getting the darker hpt test. I take the estrace vaginally 3x's a day and am wearing 4 patches now.

Does it work that quickly? Do you think my levels are probably up in a good range now (and no I dont plan to stop them or anything)...just curious.

Not sure how fast it rises, but we can be sure it's higher by now.

Sorry to hear that. I assume that 4.7 is your hCG level?

The low E2 might have had something to do with your miscarriages. There are many possibilities.

One possibility, unlikely but possible, is a balanced translocation in one of the parents.

Your history of 4 pregnancy losses and one success makes me wonder...

Just something you might ask your RE about at the WTF consult.

Thank you Ghost for giving me more thoughts on what it could be. Can you tell me more about balanced translocation?

I never got my other results today...and doc/nurse never called...so they probably never got them in time. Doesn't really matter today anyhow, since I know my beta and I know to stop all meds at this point.

Balanced translocation occurs when two chromosomes have swapped parts early on. The embryo develops normally and the person lives a normal life, completely unaware of any issue at all, because all the normal DNA is present and functional. But that DNA is not in the right place, so their chromosomes will not necessarily match up with their partner's wen sperm and egg come together. Their only issue is that they have difficulty reproducing, with many miscarriages (keep in mind, it would usually affect only one chromosome in each of two chromosome pairs, so there is a chance of producing normal offspring, a chance of producing offspring carrying the translocation, but the most likely is that their gamete would carry only one translocated chromosome and such an embryo will almost always abort).

Discussed here:
