hi ladies!!! how's everyone doing?

well, we had our consultation appointment for a 2nd opinion. it went pretty good! we're going to give it a shot with this re. we were originally w/ uconn; this place is yale. the doctor was really nice, very thorough, & he had an optimistic & positive vibe.

so, the plan is to do a lurpon cycle, which i only did w/ my last cycle. the 1st 3, i used the antagonist protocol w/ follistim & ganirelix. the last cycle, i did pretty much what i'll be doing this time. af is here today, as due; although, i'm not sure if i should count it as day 1. i had some (tmi) brown spotting, so i thought i was going to get a full flow at some point tonight. so when they asked about the 1st day of my last cycle, i told them today. but i've had NOTHING since like 6 hours ago & no cramps. so they want me to do day 3 b/w, which will be thursday, but i'm afraid it should now be more like friday b/c i'm not sure if today's should count. i did email the nurse, so i'm sure she'll let me know if it's ok or if i should change it to friday.

also, they have to get insurance authorization, which hopefully will go through by the end of next week b/c they have me sheduled for a shg next friday. i've never had one. i've had the one where they shoot the dye in your tubes, but not this one, which the nurse said is putting saline/water in the uterus. is it painful? she said to take motrin & also gave a script for antibiotics.

dh has to do a semen analysis & some b/w for the standard testing. so, once the insurance authorization goes through, my meds can be ordered. however, i have some lupron & follistim to get me started. so if all goes well, i'd be starting my lupron around march 22nd & my follistim around april 1st. er should fall around the week of april 12th & et to follow. this should be good b/c my april vacation is the week of april 18th, so it'd be a great time to get some rest & relax with a bfp to follow of course!

CT_Michele wrote:Oh ladies, I have soooooo much catching up to do! I promise, I will try and catch up before the end of the week!

I am so bogged down under mounds and heaps of paperwork at school. CMT's (state testing) was supposed to start today, but b/c of all our snowdays, we are starting next week. My kids are not ready and are likely not going to do well. It is very stressful. Plus I am way behind on my first year teacher program that I need to participate in. Grrr...not want I want going into cycle, that's for sure! And, wedding season is right around the corner. Photography inquiries and paperwork has crazy lately.

Moore- What grade do you teach again? Are you doing cmt's? I wanted to jump on here tonight in between our "Words with Friends" turns to wish you good luck at consult tomorrow!

I went today for my post-ovulation pre-lupron check-up. My female parts all look good and they will call with bw results tomorrow. I imagine I will be starting lupron injections this week. 1 month of lupron to go and then april 1st I start stimming! DH is going for SA next wednesday, but I expect nothing from that. We need to make a consult appt with uroligist to have him on backup for an emergency TESE.

Ok, I gotta get some sleep. I will be back to catch up with the rest of you soon and to update our list.
i teach 6th, 7th, & 8th grades...health. yes, i'm doing cmt's, but i'm more indirectly involved since i'm not a team teacher. but is definitely a big pain! we should be starting to stim right around the same time...the nurse said april fool's day! sounds like you're 1 busy girl! we will definitely have to meet up for coffee soon...i'd love to meet ella! oh btw...in response to your f/b question...i do zumba in naugatuck, which would probably be too long of a ride for you. but if you'd be interested let me know & i'll give you more info. i'm going to have to take it easy as i get closer to er & obviously during the 2ww i'll have to take a complete break. it'd be too much! yay, for your good lady parts!!!

Holy cow Ester! Are we going to be almost exact date cycle buddies?! How exciting! I start stims (if all goes as planned) April 1st, ER w/o April 11, also on my 2ww during our april break w/o april 18th. Geez, we definitely need to meet up for some coffee and get through this one together!

Oh, and if Zumba were after work, Naugatuck wouldn't be bad as I drive right through it to get home, but if it is night time, I would have to go closer to home.

Seriously, text me, facebook me, words with friends me...lol We gotta meet up!

And god bless you for teaching health! My homeroom partner is the health teacher. She is awesome, takes a strong person to teach hormone raging pre-teens about their icky body parts!

MOOREBABY I am also doing this IVF cycle (my 3rd) with a new RE and new clinic. I felt after 2 failed tries it was time for a second opinion and protocol. I hope your insurance comes through as planned and you can get started. I am also taking a vacation during my cycle, from 28 March through to 2 May. I gree it would be great to take that vacation, along with that BFP!!! OF COURSE.

LYD10 Thinking of you and praying for your little bean ((((HUGS))))

Hi Everyone, I'm new and this is my first POST. Hopefully I am in the right "cycle"...
My hubby & I went over all of our 1,000,001 test results today and we got an A+ on all exams. My plummings good & his swimmers are on STEROIDS! Why am I receiving treatment for infertility? Let Me Explain....

I have a child who will be 18 in Nov (2011). My husband raised him since he was 5. I took Dep(birth control) for 9 months a total of 3 injections when my son was about 3yrs old. I haven't seen my period since...I am now 36. My husband and I have been together 15 yrs, married 2yrs in JULY. I haven't used protection with him in the last 12 years...never once got pregnant!

I personally wasn't all that concerned because I didn't want anymore children. However, I never anticipated falling in love with such a wonderful man that would raise my child as his own. I decided a year ago...it was time to make him a "biological" dad. I went to my GYN & he took the regular test and my bloodwork came back with low LSH/Estrogen. He explained that he could give me meds to begin my period which he attempted and I took it twice with no luck (Provera). He said he wanted me to see an Endocrin doc to ensure that i didn't have any other underlying conditions before he proceeded with any other hormone treatments. I went to the Endocrin who sent me for an MRI of the brain...where I found out I had a "pituitary microadenoma"

For those unfamiliar here is a crash course:
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The pituitary gland, which is sometimes called the master gland, plays an important role in regulating growth and development, metabolism, and reproduction. The pituitary gland produces a number of key hormones, including:

* Prolactin, which stimulates the breasts to produce milk during pregnancy. After delivery of the baby, a mother's prolactin levels fall unless she breastfeeds her infant. Each time the baby nurses, prolactin levels rise to maintain milk production.

* Thyrotropin, which signals the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormone.

* Growth hormone, which regulates growth.

* ACTH (adrenocorticotropin), which stimulates the adrenal glands to produce cortisol.

* Luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone, which regulate ovulation and estrogen and progesterone production in women, and sperm formation and testosterone production in men.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
With that said, My brain can not send the hormones/signals that my reproduction organs need to begin the baby making process (Ovulation) That is why we opted for IVF. TODAY was the beginning of a wonderful possibilities....

We sat down, they discussed they hormone cocktail I will be injecting for 10-12 days that will soon be delivered to my house. we will attend a class with other couples on how to administer the meds and can ask questions at that time. after all the preliminaries my first procedure should take place somewhere in the first week of April! I am considering a 3 egg transfer because I like the possibility of twins. but we will see....I'm excited!

I'm also nervous about doing this again after 18yrs

Hi, I recently had an HSG & SIS done and girl the SIS (Saline Injected into the uterus is a breeze) I didnt have ANY cramping with that, I did that about 2wks ago along wit the HSG (Dye injection into tubes) HURT LIKE HELL! Take that ALEEVE! it doesnt feel bad afterwards its WHILE the dye was being injected that was awful! after its all over you feel fine...that was my experience, but hey,,,this is coming from a woman who hasn't had a period/cramp in about 15 yrs!
