Ok, so I'm going to blame it on the Lupron, but after re-reading your post, I now understand, lol! What you meant is you just move the names down, meaning ONLY the names & nothing else, like what they've been taking & what appointments & procedures they've had. Right? I'm SOOOO slow, but I blame it on the juice
I'm confused, not sure what I, or you, mean! lol I move the names, along with the info, but I update info as well. So for example, when I move from lupron to stims, I would take everything off except for my expected er/et date. Then when I am in er/et, I would take everything off except for date of er/et. Then when I get moved to 2ww, I would put beta date. Hope that makes sense. either way, it is not a big deal.
Yes, that makes sense....sorry for the confusion. I've seen calendars where things wouldn't be taken off ever, so you would see everything (their history of stims, ER/ET dates, etc.) while they were in the 2ww. That's the only reason I was asking, but your explanation is very clear :-) Thanks!

Hi,

This is my first time posting on any forum. I am currently undergoing IVF, I had 12 eggs retreived last Friday and on Saturday morning I got the call to say 7 had fertilised. I have been waiting anxiously to see whether I would be having a 3 day transfer of five day transfer. I got the call this morning to say it would be a 5 transfer. Does anybody know what the benefits of blastocyst are and if there is a real risk of losing my embies before ET.

This is a great, very addictive forum by the way! I have been an interested spectator for two years.

Welcome to the board Ellis!

Sometime back on this forum, I remember reading a debate on whether 3 day is better or should they go to blastocyst. My clinic suggests blastcyst since the cells are stronger and the outcome may be better... at 5 days, they are about ready to hatch and ready for implantation. Yet some believe the 3 day embies may not be strong enough in the lab and may not survive, so transfering at 3 days might be better. I think it all depends on the clinic, if they have the technology needed but most importantly-- we know they are being closely monitored! I started off with 13 and out of that 7 were fertilized and we ended up with 2 making it to blastocyst. We initially were told ONLY one was going to make it, but we got a call back the same morning telling us we had 2 ready. Our first IVF was more of a learning experience for us but it's hard to say what the outcome will be, each one is different, some like my sister-in-law, IVF worked the first time. I wish you all the best and know we are here just cheering you on!

Ellis...Hi and Welcome! 5 day is great, but like Sunshine said...3 day is great, too...for various reasons. My 1st IVF (3 day transfer) brought us my little boy...so it can work the first time. We just have age going against us now on top of male factor. Good Luck!

Rio...Yes, I got your message, thank you. I haven't been on bcp's since my 2nd cycle...so we're good there. The thing that I am worried about is that I dont go in for my first SnS until Saturday when my lead follies are expected to be 14mm and when it is expected that I'll start the ganerilix. I am worried that it'll be too late on Saturday or that the ganerlix wont be enough to keep me from ovulating. I am not on anything for preventing ovulation right now...no lupron...nothing. Should I be concerned? Plus, if you remember how high my blood tests came back for DHEA and testosterone after being on it for only 5 days back in early Jan...I dont know if I'm super high, right now. I backed off Sunday from 3 pills a day to 2 pills...and think I will drop to 1 pill tomorrow and Wednesday and then stop...since I'm starting follistim Wed and expect to have follies around 14mm on Saturday. What do you think? Honestly. Do you have a better plan for me? Am I being worried for nothing? Plus, I read that it can cause a higher chance of miscarriage...which we all know is a major problem for me. I just cant find enough consistant info online. Ugh.

Mom4sure...Safe travels! Keep us posted on your appt tomorrow! Good Luck!!

Akdelp...Hi and Welcome! We're all here to cheer you on and answer any questions you might have. I can tell you are excited to get going...that is how I always feel, too.

Blaqdymun...Are you afraid of needles? How did your first injections go? You'll be a pro in a few days. I honestly dont feel them at all anymore. Do you know when your approx ER will be? You sound as though you might be close to me.

Cherry...Just a few more days...till your babies come home!!

JenMink...Looks like you and I will be really close, too. Yayy!!

Blair...ER in 2 days? Wow! How are your SnS's going?

How is everyone else doing? Let's hear some SnS reports ladies! Grow Follies Grow!!!

Looks like everyone here is just getting started or waiting to get started and that this board is really going to explode with lots of news soon. Very exciting! Baby Dust and Love to all!! xoxo

Mom4sure- you are officially diving head first into your BFP! Hope your travels were safe and sending you lots of baby dust.

Tammy- I was on a similar protocol last time (cetrotide instead of ganerilix, but they are similar). My RE is fully supportive of DHEA and had me quit the night prior to trigger so I think you are fine. That ganerilix will slow you right down and you won't ovulate until trigger. No worries lady- sounds like you are right on track for you BFP!

Dallas- are you ready for STIMMING???!!! Congrats on graduating to the next phase.

Ellis- my clinic likes 3dt, but after one fresh and one failed FET, I talked them into the blast. Reason being is that I was really tempted to transfer three but can't risk multiples. In my mind, that is the distinguishing factor. In any cycle you know that some of your embies will take and some won't, but unless you do genetic testing you can't know for sure which ones are genetically capable to go the distance. Going to blast acts as a kind of survival test so you know that you are only transferring the strongest. Naturally the risk is that you don't have enough strong ones to make it. For me, that risk is offset by the lower risk of multiples from transferring too many 3 day embies. Now interestingly enough, for me out of 6 fertilized embies only one made it to blast by day 5 and three were morulae (slow developers). So I am glad I did it because it sort of confirmed for me that we have some embie quality issues. I could have gone through 2 more FETs with the frosties I have from IVF number one to learn that, but I liked knowing how things progressed by day 5. Of course every cycle is different and every woman is different so its really up to you and your RE. I will say that if I had it to do over again I would have gone to a clinic that does 5 day transfers more often. I am sure mine did just fine, but they do it on rare occasions which does make one wonder... its a different process requiring a different culture medium and it just feels like maybe I would have been better off with a more experienced clinic.

All that said, Ironically we ended up transferring three given our concerns about quality on this last try. Now we have four three day embies left and one morula. So now we will be letting those 3 day frosties grow to day 5 and transferring whatever makes it along with the morula. I am so worried about how those embies survive the thaw! Its going to be a stressful cycle...but then again they are ALL stressful cycles. :D

Baby dust to you!

Hi ladies - looks like I'm joining you on this board. I'm glad to see a few familiar names - I'll have to read through the past pages and get caught up on where everyone is at. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I just finished up my 4th IVF cycle and got the BFN news yesterday. We're still really disappointed but are trying to stay hopefully. We are ready to try again - just waiting for AF to arrive!!! We are going away for a long weekend on Friday night so I'm really hoping AF gets here tomorrow so I can go in for my baseline Fri morning. Anyone have suggestions for what might help her to come sooner?
Looking forward to this cycle - it is going to be the one!!!

So I am done with the BCP and have been on the Lupron since Saturday. I haven't felt or seen any side effects from the Lupron, I had a headache last night that turned into a migraine but I think that was from caffeine withdrawal. I don't know how to stop the coffee without the headaches so I guess until my body gets used to no coffee I will be going to bed early every night.... Sucks because I won't get to spend time with DH... :( But the end result is all that matters and that is a BFP. :D
