PHEW! I met with my OB this morning and he sent me for a quick ultrasound. (The technician was all excited - "OMG! Twins! Did you know? How exciting!") -- everything is fine. I don't have a SCH, but there is a very small area of blood in the uterus, not near the babies. Both babies grew great since Sunday. Everything is looking good! Phew!
It's funny that I've had 2 failed pregnancies, but never had ANY bleeding with either! Suddenly, I'm having a ton of bleeding, but everything is fine. It's so counter-intuitive!
I had been really worried about the cramping, but apparently it's fine. OB explained that my uterus is growing like crazy and that's what's probably hurting.
Chris --- YAY! I'm so happy things are looking good for you!
Karen (Vancouver) - we are so happy to have you here. Even though this baby was conceived in a much more FUN way - you still understand how stressful this whole process is. I was talking to a friend today who is 20wks pregnant with her first, no trouble conceiving. It's a completely different experience for 'them' than it is for 'us'!
Kjm - I was told (last time around) that the blood work (AFP) isn't accurate with twins, because one healthy twin will cover up teh results of the other. That's why I'm offered NT scans even though my insurance doesn't usually cover them. For multiple fetuses, they do NT instead of AFP blood tests. (Also, I have a family history on DH's side of Spina Bifida, so we need to be checked)
Thanks to all of you for your love and support. It means so much to me that so many people care about these babies...
