For the baby gift, I must say you are geniunely a thoughtful friend for everything you did for their baby, ZOI. The finishing touches you added to her gift personalized it along with the poem--how sentimental! I love the evening you've planned for dh, need I say he will be very surprised! Girl you've got it going on with the jazzy music, dinner, lavender candles, nice soak with massage. What a nice surprise, you're dh will be least expecting it and that sponetanity flair will take you very far!
Oh back to the IVF blog, one thing about laproscopic surgery-- I recommend going through the surgery if you think you might have endo...IF you do, the doctor can remove it to make you more fertile the following cycle. I went through the surgery last month, (no findings) but I was amazed how easy and painless the surgery was, I only have a small incision (the size of a needle prick) in my belly-button, and had expected it would be more. But overall the surgery is worth considering and my insurance covered everything but the deductible. Certainly something worth checking into:)

Wow all I can say is the upcoming week is going to be HUGE! So many of us will be going through finals scans, FET and ER and I am praying for the best outcome as we get NEAR our 2 week wait!

Hello everyone! It sounds like there is a lot of great stimming (autocorrect keeps trying to change that word to stinking )!

I'm sorry you had a rough appt Sunshine. Keep up the PMA, you'll get some great eggs I'm sure!

Anton, I'm impressed with how well you treat DH. He's a lucky man!

AFM, I had my baseline SnS this morning. Everything looks quiet, so I start stims on Sunday! 225 of Gonal F in the am and 150 in the pm. Much higher doses than last time. I think they want more eggs for me, last time we undershot the dose to avoid OHSS. Now I say bring on the meds! The appt was quite stressful...I got there at 6:30 to be first in line because I can't be late for work....I have my own patients starting at 8:00. Apparently the consent forms needed to signed and notarized before they could give me med instructions. Unfortunately my plans to meet DH over lunch to do the forms early in the week didn't work because my car wouldn't start. DH was able to get my car taken care of...I took his. However, we weren't able to get the forms done, and thought we could do them on Monday when I have a day off. Apparently they couldn't wait. Poor DH had to drive to my office (40 minutes from his) and then to the clinic to get them in. It took him 2 hours, and he had an important client call to get back to. I told him he gets a gold star anyway, it will all be worth it when we get a BFP

Thank you for asking. Here is how it went. I think we posted at the same time and you missed my post .

Just got back from my first scan and I have about 9 follicles on the left side 2 X 11, 2 X 10 some at 9 and 8 and a few smaller ones. The right side is really wierd, its not responding so well but i have a large one at 16 ( ) a couple at 9 and 8 and a few smaller ones. The best news is my lining is 9, which my re says is really good. . I started Cetrotide today, and i go for another scan on Monday. My RE thinks my ER may be on Wednesday instead of Thursday, but will know for sure on Monday. I am really relieved especially after the whole AF incidence. I am praying that we get enough on ER.

AFM~ Having my FET on Monday around 12:00, so excited!!! Headed to the spa today for a massage and mani! After all my RE said it is VERY important to stay totally stress free for the next couple of weeks!

Good luck with your FET on Monday. I am sending you tonnes of baby dust. Rent a chick flick or comedy, that'll help keep you from thinking too much and stressing.

E2 yesterday was 1114 (day 5 stim, 2 day repronex)!!! Said I will go for sns & pre-op on Saturday at 9, however, she said my E2 will be over 2000 which is approaching Hyerstim...wonder why they are keeping me going for two days when I am at 1114???? took the day off today to just rest. Monday will be the first big day. I am ready!

All the best with your sns and pre-op Saturday. Keep the PMA, i am praying all goes well on Monday too. I know its not easy but try not to stress, most of the time, we stress and things were ok all along.

Vicky I know for a fact that not everyone has implatation spotting. I am sending you loads of baby dust.

Thank you. I am not sure exactly what did it, but i started taking nutritional supplements about 3 months ago, they include CoQ10, Essential Fatty Acids (Omega 3 & 6), Folic Acid, Vitamin B Complex, Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin C & E, Calcium & Magnesium. Also drank lots of water... I had to, with having to take all those supplements .

Easley- the progesterone, I haven’t started it yet but because Im alone at home with nobody to give the injection (unless in my legs.. just forget that) lol I”ll be taking the vaginal inserts and the progesterone pills. HEY LADIES I'M BACK! hahaha sorry not been on i've been going to the mainland to get some closure why the ivf didnt work so he wants me start another ivf in 2months but bad time for me here works out the end ov june and no way i cant do it coz im working so hes starting me from my next period after this one, on the 2nd day the ivf injections i did before was for about 26-27 days from the 21st day ov my period,this one is a shorter one its or 10-12 days from the 2nd day ov my period...but going give it a go, i didnt have any eggs left as i donated them thinking ohh i wont need them but hey never mind i hope they are helping some1 out there...I havnt read the last few pages but will do it later and do personals hope your all well ladies?!xxx

Hello Ladies....

Its been a few weeks since my last post but that's due to me working nights in order to make my AM B/W & U/S appts during this time. I am currently on day 12 of my Gonal-F & Menopur cocktails and so far I have 10 follies that are between 12-16mm in size (i think "mm" is the right measurement ) :sigh:

My follies are taking their sweet time growing but my doc says "that's okay" he estimates my retrieval for this weekend but no later than Mon. He changed my dosages this Mon & there was a huge jump in growth today. So, I go back Friday for another "follie check" hopefully at that time I will get a definite RET date. I was a little disappointed that i hadn't reached full growth status today, I didn't take that as a good sign. When I was done with my exam, I saw another couple from my cycle in the waiting area, she was having her retrieval done today....needless to say, her news was bittersweet

this is my first IVF attempt and it has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least. Talk to you later guys...good luck to everyone!

***update*** went for bloods and ultrasound yesterday (Fri) and guess what guys, I now have 10 follies ready for harvest and a few close behind. My doc has scheduled my retrieval for Sunday morning April 10th. Finally! It looks like some light at the end of my gloomy tunnel. He also says my lining is "pretty" its about 9mm who have is my hope better than it was 2 days aho.

Heather & kbilsy - no I don't think I will be POAS - I never have through my other cycles. I'm quite strong when it comes to that - only b/c I hate doing them! I've seen enough one line answers these past 6 years!! I hate doing the test on the actual day - worst 3 minutes of my life! But not this time b/c I'm gonna see two beautiful lines Hey I'm getting good at this PMA

CT_Michele - my DH can be a bit like yours - I always have to drop hints to him to do things for b'days, anniversaries or Valentine's Day! He tries to be romantic but it just never works out for him - bless! I hope your DH sorts something extra special for your b'day - you deserve it babe I've already told my DH what I want for my 30th b'day next year - a 3 week trip to Amercia! Of course I won't really be able to go seeing as we'll have our baby/ies by then. So I'll settle for New York for a few days

Just reviewing all the post since last night and so sorry, I just saw where I posted twice. Oh well, I guess it happens!
Anyway, Good Morning Ladies! While dh sleeps in I decided to check on my family here. Vicky, throwing your sister's 40th birthday party sounds like so much fun. I love throwing parties! P.S. I had my sweet potato last night with a smoked ham and it was good, but the potato was even better with marshmallows and that's one thing the cassarole usually calls for. Enjoy:)

Welcome back Greekchick, how generous of you to donate your last eggs. My sil still has hers in storage, and my brother called me the other day asking what I thought...He's says if yu think about it they are living organisms so you don't want to discard them, but for now I think they are hanging on to them, I'm thinking they might want a sibbling in a few years. You never can tell! I'm only hoping I can find that "golden egg" with this batch, brewing right now will see on Monday how everything goes!

Mon4sure, thank you for sharing ideas on improving the lining. I've been taking vitamin supplements every night before bed since we've been ttc, but might need to look at the label again and certainly drink more water.

Took a opk test this morning, which came back negative, but that's good-- since time is in my favor to improve the lining.
Better run and get breakfast cooking, hehe dh is still asleep!

CT-Michele- Your spa day sounds like heaven right about now, considering I feel really lousy right about now. Read the AFM section. Anyways, I hope dh ends up figuring out something fun & exciting for your 30th. My 30th was very uneventful...I think I was just starting my 4th cycle, so all I had was a glass of wine that night. My dh is very similar as to the fact that I pretty much plan EVERYTHING...vacations, holidays, birthdays, etc. I'm the 1 who is starting the push for house-hunting...he talks about it, but I'm the 1 looking for houses, showing them to him, setting up the appointments, & discussing things with the mortgage consultant. In a way, I'm glad it's like that b/c I like to be in control (LOL ) only b/c I know dh & he is more laid back, whereas I'm always thinking ahead. This is why I also take care of the $$$ as far as paying bills & balancing the checkbook...he'd NEVER get things done. But yes, there are times when I just want to scream, "Can you ever be a little more involved???!!!" But I know that I make it that way, so it's not really his fault. Plus he does a LOT of other things that I don't want any part of & he's very sweet to me (caretaker personality). I hope your ER ends up being on Tuesday, so you can be stress-free on your sister's shower.

kbilllsy- Grand Canyon...1 of the places on my I-need-to-visit list! It must have been breathtaking. My sil lives in Dewey, AZ & we have never been out there to visit her...we need to start planning! Woohoo for the go-ahead on Clomid! That is awesome that your SnS results yesterday were good...great way to start off! Let us know how Monday's SnS goes! As far as how I'm feeling...UGH, read the AFM section...pretty lousy! Thanks for asking though

akdelp- Wow, your E2 is getting really high! I'm sure you'll be okay, but keep yourself hydrated w/ Gatorade & rest up for Monday. I can't wait to hear how many they get!

easley4- Good luck on Monday! I hope the injection site from the PIO has improved. If not, ask if you can switch to the suppositories.

anton- You're so romantic! I hope dh appreciated it I must say you're such a positive person & so inspirational...I love it! Your dh is so awesome for making your WTF appointment for tomorrow...let us know how it goes. I can totally relate to your situation. The reason we're doing IVF is b/c of dh's swimmers. He feels awful about it, but I tell him I didn't marry him for his sperm & we're in this together.

Heidi67- I love massages! I have 2 scheduled this week since ER should be towards the end of the week. I'll just have to tell her to take it easy on my lower back since my ovaries are already feeling huge. I also have 2 scheduled for the middle & end of the following week, which will be after ET & I'll have her take it easy on the lower back also. They're so relaxing! I may have missed your previous posts, but are you stimming yet?

JenMink55- Great numbers! How was your fert report yesterday? Fingers crossed that you got great news & that they will find more than 1 golden egg!!! Yes, you are about 2 weeks preggo!!!

AFM- UGH!!! So I started Follistim (150 units) on Sunday night & I'm also on Lupron (5 units) every night. Well, besides the constant headache I've had for 2 weeks now, I think I may have had a reaction to the Follistim. Yesterday, when I got home from school, I changed into my pj's & crawled into my bed. I started havingt the worst chills, body aches, & fatigue. I didn't have a fever, although it did go from 97.7 to 98.6. I was also somewhat nauseous & having weird stomach cramps. I wasn't really hungry all day & I was cold all day too. Since I wasn't eating, I forced myself to eat, but wasn't feeling that great afterwards. Good thing I didn't throw up. The weird thing is that I NEVER vomit/feel nauseous when I'm sick; nor, do I ever get any stomach bugs. I was so cold up until 3 am or so that dh had to sleep in the spare bedroom b/c I had an electric heater on at 85 degrees & I was still shivering. Today, I'm somewhat better as I have no chills, but I have the worst body aches & headache & have no energy whatsoever. I was supposed to go to my sil's for an early Easter dinner tonight as some of our relatives will be out of town during Easter, but I had to cancel & dh will have to go by himself. I looked up the side effects of Follistim & webmd says that if you get flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, aches, fatigue) to call your doctor immediately. I know I probably should have, but I feel a little better today & I don't want to have this cycle cancelled. Also, it could just be a coincidence & have nothing to do w/ Follistim. I mean this is my 5th time on it & I have never reacted to it like this. On the positive end, my ovaries are feeling like they're cooking up some follies. I'm already peeing every 30 minutes. I have an SnS tomorrow morning, so I will update everyone with the results. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Ester- It will happen for you this time, I know it. It's your turn. I'm so glad my story gives you hope. It should reinforce for everyone that it really does only take 1. My RE said to me "sometimes we get caught up in the numbers, but it's really about that 1 right embryo." I also wanted to let you know I had flu-like symptoms with follistim on a couple of my cycles too. Fever/chills/the whole bit! Take a Benadryl before bed, it helps. Keep those follies growin'. Oh, and I got the call from my OB's office that my first trimester screen results put us low-risk for Downs or another chromosome abnormality. We're really happy too. Thanks for your support.
