Mellow- I'm happy to hear you are resting and taking it easy. I understand how you feel regarding the anniversary. Today I am 23w3d and this is the point at which I went into labor and lost my twins last July. It's been a weird, emotional day...but I know in my heart all will be ok this time. You'll be ok, too. Did I ask you if you were taking the P17 shot? It really helps keep the uterus relaxed.

Lou- congrats on hitting 13 weeks! Great job, momma!

Riley- Great news about your anatomy scan and good looking cervix. Now just relax as much as you can!

Gina- Sorry to hear you are still contracting. We're all sending calming and relaxing vibes to your uterus!

Steph- Congrats on passing your 3 hour glucose test. :)

Amanda- Love the belly pic! How are you feeling?

hello ladies!

i have been quietly stalking the boards since i started this cycle in january. i'm 7 weeks pregnany from an FET on 3/4 and just saw the heartbeat yesterday, which was also the same day i was released from the RE. i have my first OB appointment tomorrow. this is my second ivf cycle. i was active on the boards from august - december 2009 during my first ivf. i lost twin boys in december 2009. that was the most devastating experience, as i'm sure some of you can relate to. since then, i had 13 fibroids removed, so i will need to have a c-section with this pregnancy. anyway, i'm so excited to be pregnant again and hope that i can join you all for the much needed support.

mykel - WELCOME AND CONGRATS! You will find tons of support here! :D

Ryann - YAY to hear your LOs are doing so great!

Mellow - A birthday celebration sounds like a wonderful idea! I will praying for you and your family over the next couple weeks. I can't imagine the emotional roller coaster you all will be on. Keep stuffing your face and staying down, Momma! I just know Wednesday's appointment will go so much better than the last.

Gina - I'm sorry to hear about the continuing contractions. I hope DH is waiting on you hand and foot so you are able to stay off of yours. I'm curious about how frequent they are. Are they just tightening BH-like or are they painful?

Barbara - I've read that babies that are active in the womb develop self soothing abilities making them calmer newborns.

Lou - I'm not real clear on the official weeks to switch trimesters either. There's gestational, developmental, and conceptional trimesters... UGH  According to what I found, the second trimester is from 12 weeks to 26w6d for the developmental trimester, 13w3d to 26w5d for gestational, and 14w5d to 27w2d for conceptional. As a general rule of thumb, 12 weeks is the beginning of the 2nd and 27 weeks is the beginning of the 3rd. So... WELCOME TO YOUR 2ND TRIMESTER!!!

Looking into that for Lou, I just realized I'm officially in my 3rd trimester. Wow! Time sure flies when you're extremely uncomfortable!

Ryann: congrats on your great scan results!

Stephanie: the contractions are painful most of the time and I get them in my back as well as in my abdomen, which is no fun. DH has been doing everything for months now, except for actual big cleaning(bathrooms, kitchen, floors, etc.) as we hired someone to do that every 2 weeks. I hope I get to keep her after the boys arrive

Mykel: welcome and congratulations on hearing a hb.

Mellow: I'll be thinking about you and will pray that you get some good news on Wednesday. I've been drinking lots and peeing lots. Just hoping to make it to at least 32 weeks, almost there. Cervix was 3 cm a week and a half ago. I don't have another U/S until 4/27, then I go weekly until the boys arrive.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, it's in the 60's and sunny here today :D

Bunny -- So glad Brooke is giving you an easier time now. Who knew that the third trimester could bring more comfort! Good to know! Sorry about the heartburn issues. I did PM you. <3

Gina -- Thanks! You rest up and take your meds. Not much longer now twin mama. :D

Karenthescorpio -- You did it. You've passed 23w3d and your doing fantastic. You're going to stay pregnant a while longer! I'm confident of that and so glad you made the decision for one this time around. Much less to worry about for you. I'm really happy for you Karen!

Mellow -- Sorry this is a tough weekend for you. I think a party for Johnny is a great idea. Make sure you don't overdo anything.

Ryann -- So glad your scan went great! Hooray for a long, closed cervix too! Great news!!!

Sonya -- Where are those Mexico pics? Did you dig out your bikini?

mykel -- Congratulations and welcome! So sorry for your loss back in 2009. You can see from this board, you aren't alone so there are many who understand. I had one large fibroid removed in December laparoscopically. When is your due date? You need a ticker hun... try tickerfactory.com or lilypie.com. :D

Baby_blu -- Awesome... then heck, I'm considering myself officially in the second trimester! Thanks for the explanation. That sure is confusing. Sorry you're uncomfortable... not much longer for you luckily.

Gina -- It's warm here too. I've been waiting for the darn warm weather to get here and stay. Tomorrow it's going to be in the 80's with maybe a passing T-storm. I'll take it!

AFM -- OB's office called yesterday to say that my blood work from 1st trimester screening put me in the "low risk" category. She didn't have any actual results just that I'm 1/1000 for trisomy 13/18 and 1/400 for Downs. Is that OK? I know I'm "older" and that affects my odds, but I don't think that puts me "out of the woods" yet, does it? Played tennis this morning and now I'm pooped! Nap time!!! DH is working until 7pm. I had a bad day yesterday. Lot's of nausea out of nowhere. WTH? I vomited so much I thought my eyes were going to pop out of my head. Today my throat muscles are sore from it. No more nausea today. Weird. I also worked a double shift yesterday. 7-3:30 at one job then 4-midnight at the other. That needs to stop soon. Too much for me. I left an hour early because I couldn't stop puking. I made it to the bathroom a couple of times but mostly it was the garbage can...lol.
Here's my weekly photo... 13 weeks!!!!

hi all.. this is just a quick one and i'll try to post more later.. sigh* must go nap while my son does :)

lou- the 2nd tri starts after you've 'completed' 12 weeks... so starts on wk 13.. so congrats!! and your screening results sound great.

leora, i too, would have asked if you were ok if i saw you hurling in public :( booh! on those people! .... as for doppler, don't be alarmed if you can't find it til wk 12- depends on placement of embie in the uterus too. my ob couldn't find mine in his office at wk 10 and he wasn't surprised.. and i'm quite thin too, so no extra layers in the way.. it's just how it goes sometimes.

ok. off to rest!

Lou-those numbers are great.....mine was 1/3420 for downs......my baby had downs and died two weeks ago at 19 weeks. Those numbers aren't 100% only 91% correct....I am sure you will be fine, just wanted to give you the whole picture.

On a happy note for this weekend...I thought I would post a belly pic that I took this past Sunday. I sure hope this big belly means my little Claire is doing well and still growing. I feel pretty large this week. How is it possible that I will get bigger??? :)

Now just to get through the rest of these next couple weeks. Deep breath!

Amanda - looking good! :D

Stephanie - congrats! GD isn't the end of the world, but it's better without! Enjoy a celebratory piece of fruit!

Margi - phew! Thank goodness. My cousin had twins 3 years ago - boy/girl, vaginal delivery at 38+weeks. That's my dream, but I doubt I'll make it. It's nice to remember that these things can happen! I hope you are doing well, and NO MORE BLEEDING!

Crissy - I'm keeping myself on 'house rest' even though my high risk OB says it's not necessary. After all we go through to get pregnant, I want to do anything I possibly can to help - even if it's just in my mind. Feel good

Lou - congrats! 2nd trimester! If you divide 40 weeks into 3 - technically 13w3d and a few hours is the switch over - but most people decide somewhere between 12-14 weeks - so 13 is good! You are looking great! I feel the same way you do - not really showing yet, but *I* feel the difference. I also love the shoes!

Barbara - I hate that people probably assume I'm a public drunk when I puke in public. But this was about noon on a weekday! I feel like wearing a T-shirt that says "Pregnant, not drunk". I made DH promise that if he ever sees someone throwing up in public, to go over and make sure they are okay.

Gina -I'm also picking my OB and hospital based on the fact that these twins are likely to come early (but hopefully not super-early!). I hope your meds stop the contractions and you feel better!

Mellow - I hope little Claire is catching up! I hope you find a way to celebrate Johnny's birthday in a way that makes you feel okay. Sometimes the lead up to the one-year mark can be harder than the day itself. Big hugs.

Ryann - yay! I'm so glad the anatomy scan went well. Still a boy and a girl? No one decided to switch sex? :D

Karen (scorpio)- Congrats on passing the point where you went into labor last time. I can understand how bittersweet that is.

mykel - Welcome! I also lost twins (boy/girl) in December 2009 at 22 weeks. I'm sorry for your loss, but happy to see that the new little one is doing well!

Karen (vancouver) - I definitely have that 'extra padding', so Im not too worried that I can't pick up the hbs yet --- hopefully I'll have plenty of time to play with that!

AFM - we had our u/s this morning. Abdominally - which is a new thing! :D No more 'dildo-cam'! (well... until cervical checks...) Both babies are doing great - measuring 9w3d and 9w4d -- which is great! And they MOVE now! Too funny! Little twitchings and spasms - everytime she would try to take a picture to measure them, they would wiggle away! :D yay!

OB appt on Thursday.

Jamila - CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your little girl!! Please post a pic of Salima when you can. I love to ooh and aah over these 2011 babies being born. :D

Mellow - WOW!! Now that's a twin belly if I've ever seen one!! :) Can't wait to hear how your appt goes Wednesday. I just have a feeling Claire will be doing a lot better. And I think it's great that you're celebrating Johnny's birth and life.

Lou - You're looking great!! My doc didn't give me separate results for DS and T13/18, just the one result of 1:1100.

Mykel - I'm really sorry about your previous loss. Welcome and wishing you a happy & healthy pregancy!!

Leora - GREAT news on your u/s today!! So glad to hear the little ones are doing great and showing mama their moves.

Karen (scorpio) - I'm feeling really good. Other than my eczema and carpal tunnel (I'll be happy when those go away) I really feel fabulous. I'm so glad your TAC has been doing it's job and you've made it past the point of your painful loss.

Barbara - YAY for Brooke turning to give you some relief!! What a good girl she is already. :D

Gina - Hope your boys will stay put for a few more weeks. Sorry you're having to deal with these constant contractions. Boy that would make me so nervous! Glad you're taking it easy and letting DH and some outside help get things done around the house.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

Hi ladies - What kind of home dopplers are you using and how early did it detect a Hb. i am looking into getting one. I am also a bigger gal with tummy fat, do you think it will be harder to detect the hb with more fat. im thinking probably.

I do in for my first Ob appt on Tuesday. My ob doesn't do u/s until 12 weeks so i might have to make some stuff up so i can see my little bean.

Chris - I have the Sonoline B 3 mhz and I love it. I found our LO's h/b at 9w5d with it. They say having more tummy fat may delay you being able to hear it as can having an anterior placenta but I've got my share of tummy fat and was able to hear it just fine. I got mine on e-bay for around $60 and it came with free shipping and 2 tubes of u/s gel. Sometimes in the early days, we really had to do some searching for the h/b and believe me, that can be a tense few minutes. But I used it every few days and really loved having piece of mind in between appointments.

Chris- I also bought the Sonoline B 3mhz as recommended by several ladies on this site. It works very well! I easily found the hb the say it arrived at 9 1/2 weeks. I also paid about $60 and bought it on ebay. It's been great to have!
