April/May Cycle Buddies!

Looking for advice... I am not sure whether or not to do Acupuncture with this cycle. I've never done it before. I have read some good statistics on it, but Im still not convinced that it is so effective. DH thinks that it is "hoo doo" and all in your head that it is really so helpful. I am doing weekly massages to help with stress relief and staying calm and less tense. Is this just as effective??

Dallas--
I didn't do Acupuncture with Fresh Cycle #1 and got a BFN
I did Acupuncture with FET and got a Chemical/BFN
This time I am not doing it because I really didn't see a benefit, and it's extremely expensive.

The Dr's tell you it will increase pregnancy rates by xx amount, but honestly I think it's a bunch of BS. What I can tell you is that is you are a highly stressed person then it would be good for you to do it so you can relax. BUT there are a lot of other things you can do to get the same effect. Meditation, massage, have somebody do your housework LOL... What I am saying is it's good for relaxation but I honestly don't believe it does anything to improve pregnancy rates. I spent $1000+ last cycle and it did nothing.

Do some research on the Internet, you will see that most studies conclude there isn't solid evidence it helps
There are some people who swear by it though so I really think it's a personal choice.

Sunshine--- Rape your Husband girl!!! LMFAO-- I am really disappointed to hear how your RE assistant is treating you. I actually had a nurse like that at my previous clinic and her attitude is what finally made me decide to pay my big bucks someplace that valued me as a patient. Sounds like she needs to center herself again and treat her patients with respect and patience. This isn't an easy journey and we put a lot of money into it. Good luck honey, and hey... enjoy the baby dancing!!!!

We're suppose to go through a IUI procedure at the office sometime either late Monday or Tuesday morning.. At 4:37 I called and texted her and the only thing she did was text me what time did I get the positive read. I told her around 4:30 and also asked about the trigger shot and follistim for tonight. She has yet to respond back to me and this has been nearly 2 hours ago.
dh and I are going out for a bit to take our 4-legged children for a walk....maybe that will help calm me.

Sunshine- have fun "raping" dh...lol You're funny! Stinks that you have trouble communicating with your office. My dr is on point. I probably annoy the heck out of him, but like you said, that's what they get paid the big bucks for girl!

Dallas- I agree with Jen, I think it is all about relaxing, and however you want to do it is up to you. Acupuncture makes me nervous just thinking about it, so I choose massage instead. And I also have a housekeeper! Keeps the stress down!

Heidi- Thanks for the massage advice. I just had a massage friday, but didn't seem to help for saturday, But they didn't focus on any area, so maybe I should consider it if I have this problem next time. And I might have to plan our own birthday bashes from now on, but that kinda defeats the purpose. I wish guys weren't so bad at this stuff.

Jen- that is a freakin' fantastic fert report! Good luck with transfer tuesday! And omg that retrieval story sounds horrible! Everytime for ER I have been under conscious sedation, but I am very susceptible and fall right asleep not remembering a thing. I am worried about being awake and it hurting. I am always in pain when I wake up from ER, so I imagine being awake will hurt even more. But someone else told me today that they were awake for one and didn't feel anything. Although they were awake, they were in lala land.

Heather- Yay! We have ER on the same day! Good luck girly!

Moorebaby- Follie count and size sounds good! When do you think ER will be? And the baby shower for me is 11:30-2:30. I could ask RE for a very early ET, but not sure it would matter. I am one of the shower hosts, so I need to be there around 10:30 to help setup. But now I don't think I will be helping with much at all. It is going to be very hard to sit around and do nothing, so not my nature!

Easley- Holy moly with the PIO shots! That must have sucked big time! I think my RE is mad at me b/c I insist on crinone gel instead of IM shots. Those things scare me. I would much rather have a mess than a big ol' needle to hurt me. But glad your tush is not sore!

Anton- great blinkies! I appreciate your advice, but I honestly feel like I have done all that already. We have been together for almost 10 years and I feel like if he hasn't gotten the message by now, he never will. I will get over this, like I do everything else. I just wish it would get worked out soon. It's very hard to not feel wanted. Oh, and my b-day is April 28th.

mom4sure- another person for wednesday ER! It is going to be a busy day on this thread!

AFM- I don't want to call in late tomorrow for work again, especially considering that I will be taking 2, maybe 3, medical days this week right before my april vacation. I will get up ridiculously early to drive 40 mins to the hospital for bw at 6 am, then 30 minutes to work, and then 40 minutes to the clinic after work for u/s. So glad tomorrow is the last day I have to do that. After u/s, I am heading back to the spa! My sister-in-law and I need pedi's for her shower on saturday. Last stim shots tonight, and trigger tomorrow! Can't believe it is finally here!

Hi girls!! I hope everyone is doing great--i am going completely crazy during the 2ww -today is 7dp3dt! This is literally all i can think about I have been having cramping on and off (which i am hoping is a good sign) and a little bit of dizziness! When do you guys think i can POAS and have it be accurate....im almost scared to but i wana know before i get the phone call....especially if its bad ! IDK feelin kinda bummed-dont know why!??!?

Moorebaby- I teach special ed-kids with autism! Its great and it really keeps my mind off things!! Summers off are nice too especially if God willing im preggo!!!!

They are going to start mointoring me tomorrow. They are going to do another sns and hopefully I get good news. I have been sucking down the gatorade, preparing for OHSS. Fingers crossed I have at least 3 follies at 18! DH is staying positive, which helps. Tomorrow I will know more.

Hey Everyone

I am home recovering from my ER and I was able to produce. ...(DRUM ROLL) ELEVEN wonderful Follies (Happy Happy Joy Joy) I was nervous I would get only 8 or 9 but we have 11 to work with and I'm excited about that!

The feeling of carrying around rocks in my lower tummy have subsided a lot, that was really uncomfortable to say the least.I am going to rest tonight, no work until tomorrow and the transfer is scheduled for Friday @ 5 day blasts. I am sitting here wondering how they are doing in the lab already. Can't wait for my follow up phone call tomorrow!

I hope everyone is doiing well iin their respective stages. PMA is what I'm leaning on right now. I think I need an update to my status as well. ttyl!!!

P.S. SPECIAL Thanks to Moorebaby, Anton & the other ladies who had me in mind yesterday as I went for my ER....that made me feel really good that I had you guys thinking and cheering for me! NOW....WHERE'S THAT PHONE CALL???? I cant wait any longer...I'm about to pop with anxiety

Having a bad night My dr office is about a 2 hour drive from my house but my sister only lives about 20 minutes away from it. So I normally drive up to her house the night before, then go to my appointment first thing in the morning and then drive back home. That's what I did tonight. When I just went to do my injections, I realized that I left my follistom tips at home!!! I called the 24 hour nurse on call # and she said that I can do the injection at the office in the morning. I'm really hoping this doesn't screw my cycle up. I'm so annoyed with myself - I can't believe I forgot the stupid tips!!! Has anyone missed their shot before? I did the cetrotide injection, just not follistom. Will this just delay my cycle by a day or will it possibly impact the egg quality?

Sunshine - did you hear back from the RE assistant yet? Good luck with everything.

Blaqdymun - congrats on your ER - great #'s - it is always exciting to have MORE than you were expecting! Hopefully the fertiliztion report will also be good news! Rest up!!

Just wanted to give a quick update. Had an u/s today and I have 5 follies they are ranging b/w 16- 19. I will be triggering tonight. I am a little worried about the small number, but the RE said they feel it is worth it if there are 3 or more. During my 1st IVF I had 8, so I don't produce many; I only hope that there are good eggs in all follies and that they all fertilize and develop nicely. My ER is on Tuesday and ET on Friday. I am praying all goes well. I have been reading everyone's post but I haven't been feeling well. Sorry no personals. So happy to hear all the good follie reports, wishing everyone well. Hopefully I will be able to do personals soon.

Sunshine I am happy you got a smiley.. YEAH!! I think what your RE's assistant is doing is insensitive. I mean we pay them A LOT of money to be there for us and help us fall pg, and then.. they dont attend to our concerns . If we do anything wrong, that's a lot of money wasted.. I think keep calling until you are sure about exactly what you are supposed to do.. I hope this works out.. i am sorry you are going through this, its really frustrating.

Dallas I think its about what you think works for you. Weigh your odds and see what you are comfortable and happy with. Some people find acupunture painful, and prefer massages and some think its all in the head etc. BUT others find it helps and have reported successful results after trying it. I am doing acupuncture and i am happy i am doing it. My RE thinks it helps with implatation and recommended i do it immdediately after transfer, and i will. I also decided in addition to doing it on the day of transfer, to start on CD4 and i go every 4th day and so far so good .

Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since my last post and I missed lots of discussions with you guys!

I just came from my new hospital since we transfered house and this time we chose a highly known hospital here in Korea. Yes, It's really expensive.It's just twice the price compare on our first trial Since we already tried twice and yet failed all. We decided to choose the expensive one rather than keep on trying which we can waste much more money..... (seems like I have some confidence and faith on this one to be successful)

So, tomorrow will be my first injection. for at least 4 days do the self-injecting then on Sat. back there again to talk with our newly doctor ^O^!.

I'm crossing my fingers on this but not encouraging my self to high the expectation coz I don't want to break my heart again in the end....

I am using pregnyl too. 1cc of liquid. Good luck!

Sunshine - I'm so sorry for the messing about your RE assistant is giving you! It's awful. She should really be more understanding. Like you said, you've paid a lot of money for this cycle. If it was me I'd be ringing all the time until I got an answer! She's there to support you! Hope you get sorted honey x

Dallas - I'm doing acupuncture this time round. I initally wanted to start it before down reg but we had a beaverement in the family and it totally slipped my mind. I've had 3 sessions of acupunture - 1 before ET and 1 the afternoon of ET and then another 2 days after ET. It may or may not help but I'm willing to try anything. But it is personal choice.

kbillsy - In one of my fresh cycles I drop one of my hormone injection vials on the floor! When I rang the out of hours nurse she said I'd be ok going to the unit the next day and having the injection there. I was so upset but it didn't make a difference with the number of my eggs. Although the nurse wasn't as nice giving the injection as my DH is! I didn't get a nice big cuddle off the nurse like I do from DH

CT_Michele - you are such an amazing person holding a baby shower! Not sure I could do it! I really do struggle sometimes being around my close friends with their children! You'd think I'd be used to it, but I still have my bad days. Good luck with ER - I have sedation with my ER and I don't feel anything as such although I'm aware something is happending "down there"! Good luck x

AFM - I am going completely crazy in this 2ww!! arrghhhhhhh I have 10 days before doing my test! I'm still having cramping (just feels like what I get when I'm waiting for AF!) and towards the end of the night I feel swollen and my breasts are so swollen and tender! It hurts just taking my bra off! I'm trying not to read too much into the signs but it's so hard not to!! I am really thinking more postive this time (although a tiny bit of negative thoughts are sneaking in!) I know majority is b/c of my meds.
