Heather and Ester and akdelp: Regarding OHSS. First off, please don't minimize symptoms to your doctor to avoid postponement of transfer. I know you have come a long way, but if I had known how serious it can be I would have definitely requested to freeze and do a FET when I was showing symptoms after ER. That said, some bloating and discomfort is normal from the enlarged ovaries, procedure, etc. If you see rapid weight gain (1-2lbs a day), have ANY trouble with breathing (I was sleeping upright because if I laid down I couldn't breathe without coughing), abdominal pain--more than just the ovaries, and dizziness or nausea or diarrhea (I never had those last 2) discuss this with your RE. If you have OHSS and get pregnant the symptoms can then range from mild to moderate to severe. Rio had a mild/moderate case. I had a (rare) severe case and was in the hospital for months. If you do not get pregnant, the symptoms will go away and you can transfer next month. I don't want to alarm anyone, just make sure that you are informed. If anyone has more specific questions feel free to PM me. In the meanwhile REST, drink Gatorade and salty foods and take extra good care of yourselves ladies. I hope that your symptoms resolve!!!!

Margi- My ER was a nightmare, first of all my doctor wasnt there and so a different doctor did it that I had never met before that is in the same practice. My last ER I only got 11 eggs. So this doctor read the notes from the last ER not knowing that I had been growing over 40 follicles. So when I went under I ended up waking up in the middle of everything and freaked out from the pain, so this doctor continued to retrieve while one nurse held me down and the other looked for the medication to give me to knock me back out. They pushed so much medication that I had a hard time waking up nearly 2 hours later. I woke up sick and in extreme pain and alot of nausea. So they gave me a shot for the nausea and gave me some sprite and crackers and put me in the truck with my dad to go home. Well needless to say I slept the whole way home 3 1/2 hours. I ate while I was in the truck and dont remember it, I got home and dad put me in the bed and I dont remember that either. I also spoke with my husband numerous times and dont remember that either. I didnt even remember coming on here and reporting lol. So basically the last few days Ive been very sore, bloated and the air they put in was hell. Ive been sleeping nearly 14 hours a day the past few days as well gulping down gatoraid and eating good. Ive been watching my weight and watching how many times I go to the bathroom oh yeah and my doctor prescribed Dostinex that Ive been taking since my Estrogen level reached 3000.

PS. My doctor called me the next day after he heard about this fiasco and assured me he'd be at my transfer. For that I am very thankful! He's so compassionate and very gentle! Not to mention he transferred Aimee :)

Did you take valum at your transfer?

Oh Heather! What a nightmare indeed. :( You poor thing! I never heard of anyone waking up during the procedure...that must have been completely frightening and awful.

Dostinex can help--but isn't a guarantee. I took it the cycle I got terrible OHSS. This most recent cycle my E2 was over 6000 2 days before ER. But my RE was coasting me and it actually came down by ER and was down even more my ET. Yes, I took Valium for transfer with this RE. I also went straight to acupuncture for further relaxation. (To be honest my 2 worse transfers were the ones I didn't take Valium. I highly recommend the stuff :D Relaxed is what you want to be on transfer day. And with an over full bladder, it isn't easy on your own.)

Glad that you are taking care of yourself. Resting all you can is good. Is your pee output still good and no weight gain? That Gatorade really can help--although I have found that I am now very adverse to the stuff since I practically lived on the stuff for 3 months. LOL.

Sounds like you are on top of your symptoms. Report all to RE. Very glad to hear that your regular RE will be at transfer.

I'll be stalking!!

PS Regarding ovaries and cysts? I am 8w pregnant...so 6 weeks past ER and my ovaries are still swollen and sore with cysts. Those can take a while to fully resolve even in the best of situations.

Fruit Hang in there. Dont worry too much, think positive :) . I've read lots of BFP stories where women had AF like cramps... only it wasn't AF, it was a pg. Take Care.

Blair Congrats on that strong beta :D .

Thinking of you all and wishing you the best.

Fruit-- I know what you mean about being scared to POAS. DH and I bought a two pack yesterday and I am probably going to test on Tuesday (7dp5dt) because my Beta is the next day. I am totally scared to do it too but I think it's better to know now then to wait another day thinking everything is okay. I like to be prepared when the RE office calls me. As for your symptoms, I have a mild back ache (lower) that has been coming and going. I never get the back ache with AF so I am not too concerened. I am more concerned that I haven't been getting a ton of AF cramps because that is a good thing! I have read that a lot of early pregnancy symptoms included back ache and cramps. The back ache is from the ligaments stretching because the Uterus is enlarging. Just take a test so you and DH can find out in private versus one of you dealing with the information over the phone alone :)

Okay-- so I am totally turning in a stick pusher!!! Who else is going to POAS!?

AFM-- today is 5dp5dt and still feeling the twinges, very mild AF cramps and on and off lower back ache. Last night I did get super tired at around 730pm so I am hoping that's a good sign. My Beta is on 4/20 which happens to be a day I will be in a meeting all day so I will be having the clinic call DH with the news. We decided to test on Tuesday just so we aren't totally caught off guard with the news (good or bad).

Hope everybody has a great weekend!

Michele...I am sooo sorry! What the heck?!

Easley and Blair...Congrats on your BFP!

Franny...Sooo good to see your face around here again. We miss you terribly...and completely understand. Your feelings are very normal...dont ever feel bad. Good Luck with everything! Just Jump!

Ester...Awesome fertilization report and retrieval!! I ams sooo excited for you!!!

Margi and Lou...Glad you are both doing well!

Congrats to our PUPO girls!

Heather...Ugh! I have been awake for 2 retrievals...but had spinals. I'm sorry you felt pain...how awful.

Mom4sure...Praying for you! It could seriously be nothing. Hang in there.

Everyone else...I am always thinking about you all and praying for you, too.

AFM: I dont know what to think. We baby danced after our cancellation...and today is 11dpo (the day I always first start testing). I had at least 2 mature follies, maybe more. I took the test out of the plastic applicator and dried it as always. Is it an evaporation line...or a nice line that I can actually photograph already?!?

I dont want to get my hopes up...but this looks promising. For those of you who remember...I couldnt even get a photograph of it...till 15dpo in Feb. Hmmm.

Yes, I am taking my estrogen and progesterone shot. Maybe I should call and ask for a beta now...we never bothered to scheduled one.

wow Jen, my beta is 4/21 im going to POAS on the morning before going to the test so i will be prepared for the results....
i see that we r having almost the same symptoms: "very mild AF cramps and on and off lower back ache" yet for me when they're here, they're strong not mild....i dunno...... i hope and pray that these are GOOD SIGNS as u said, hope that our little embies are fighting to stay in mommy's tummy :) and wish we'll both have our "Christmas Baby" just as u call him (i liked it hehe :D )
i will be praying for both of us and hope we will both get a big BFP :)

Mom4sure hope u r feeling better now, im sure that evrythg is gonna turn to be just great. :)
thank u for the encouragement :) ur support means a lot in these few remaining days before beta , actually each passing day seems to be like a whole year :?

Happy Sunday everyone!!! So, I just got a call from my clinic (it was 1 of the nurses) & I'm scheduled for an ET on Wednesday!!! We have NEVER had a 5dt, so I'm being extremely cautiously optimistic. She didn't have an actual report on the embabies, but she said since the embryologist made the decision to have a 5dt, must mean they're doing good & there is a minimum # of embryos to continue w/ a 5dt. She said they'll check on them again tomorrow & if there are any problems, they'll do an emergency 3dt tomorrow. I can also call the embryology lab tomorrow just to get a report. A nurse will call me tomorrow to let me know what time my ET will be on Wednesday. Dh is very neutral right now. He is nervous about something going wrong between now & Wednesday. I totally understand, but I told him we have to embrace the good news & pray that we get through to the next step.

We are on our way to do some house-hunting, so I will do personals later today.
