Lynzee,
Yay on getting the meds ordered, what meds did he prescribe? Birth control pills may sound weird, but it helps the RE so he/she can take control of your whole cycle and monitor things even better. I remember thinking but my cycle is usually 28 days apart, but when you are on birth control that doesn't matter, the RE takes charge of that cycle. Birth control also helps to make your ovaries sleep so you can prepare for the cycle and get ready for the injections (like follistim) that will come into play to produce more follicles (eggs). I know it may seem overwhelming but I thought after the first two weeks of injections it really got easier! I learned to use an ice pack on the injection site before the shot is given because it will help numb the area. Also make sure it is given to you slowly, I remember lupron burning but when he pushed the syringe in slower it made the world of a difference to me. One more thing about Lupron is the vial seemed so tiny to me, that I panicked of not having enough but you can measure your meds by drawing it up into a syringe to check to see if you get paranoid, but ask questions like that up ahead too. Most of all find out how accessible your RE is, I mean can you call them after hours, is there an emergency phone number they prefer you to call. Trust me it's always good to have his contact information. Anyway I am so excited for you Lynzee and will be here cheering you on! :D Sunshine1576

Thanks for all the supprt! :D

Sunshine, I don't even remember all the meds, Lupron and Doxycylcine are the 2 I remember. I will let you know when I know them all. I do know that they said I can call the IVF team nurses anytime, there is an emergency phone number (thank god) I am definitely going to take your advice with the injections, I believe I have to watch like a 1-2 hour video online before I start as well. I know the first few times will be frightening but thankfully one of my best friends is in nursing school and right around the corner! :D

How wonderful Lynzee! I'm so glad you have someone around the corner who knows how to give injections. I remember telling everyone at my clinic I would personally pay a nurse to come to my house, but then with a little practice, dh became a pro!
AFM: Currently on cd11 ,testing w/ opk (ovulation predictor kit) every morning, and bding every other night.-ttc naturally.
I went by Wal-Mart yesterday and walked by the card section...I feel bad for not stopping b/c every year I mail Mother's Day Cards out, but this year I couldn't bring myself to do it. Dh remembered the cards this morning, so sweet he offered to take care of them and sign my name. All our family live out of state so we won't see anyone this weekend, but I wonder if it's too late to send flowers?

I am scared to let DH try hahaha! But I know I need to have faith in him and am sure he will become a pro- so weird I can get a tattoo no problem but hate needles!

Sunshine, don't feel bad! It's completely natural and understandable that you wouldn't want to mail them out. It's so hard to be happy for mother's when you are trying so hard yourself (even though we all want to be happy for them it hurts) I get so upset/angry when I see these girls who get pregnant naturally so eaily and then its almost as if its a burden to them! I think imagine if you had to wrk so hard at it. I have no tubes but have hear many stories of women getting pregnant with no tubes that I still find myself thinking "maybe I will get pregnant naturally". So happy DH did that for you! :D It's never too late! Better late than never but if you don't send them, don't get down on yourself either. It's OK!

Lynzee,
Wow that is alot of meds, I don't remember having but 4 different meds going on when we did our first IVF, but each clinic is different. I see you have one familar med: Leuprolide acetate, thats "Lupron" the med that stings if it is injected too quickly I was talking about. I also used the estrogen patches but think they didn't work on me very well since I took them off before showering and then had trouble getting them to stick. Have you asked your doctor about the routine of changing the patches out? For the progesterone I used the vaginal sup. and they were a little messy but pantyliners helped. However think the shots could be better-- like you're doing-- since the progesterone supports the lining-- and the pregnancy itself. We do know a thicker lining somewhere in the teens (10 or better) is always good. Thanks for replying back.

AFM: Saw my OBGYN this morning for my yearly exam. We talked about my "progress report" with my RE. He agreed with me that we should try IUI 3Xs with my RE and then go for another IVF. I asked him if he knew of a way I could get medical insurance for fertility treatment. He said no, but told me there are options we might wamt to look into with Springstone Patient Financing. https://www.springstoneplan.com/fertility. Also he did give more information about the Attain IVF Refund Program. He mentioned certain clinics offer this program and for the clinic in Pensacola, FL could get up to 3 tries for 17,000 and most of our money back if we had no success. He did say we would be responsible for paying the meds out of pocket, but I still thought it was better plan than what we currently have. If anyone is interested in the IVF ATTAIN REFUND PROGRAM the website online is http://www.yourivf.com for a complete list of centers and pricing.

On the flipside of everything going on....You will not believe this but one of the credit unions I had interviewed with weeks ago, called me back yesterday asking if I am still interested in working with them. The credit and background check are in process as we speak, nothing to worry about that, it will be next week before I get the final offer. Really so much thought has gone into this! Right now I'm in limbo with choosing between having a career or family. As you all know I struggled with my last bank job because it was tough getting off for doc appts being that branch hours are M-F 8-5pm. Dh and I will talk more about it over the weekend. The reality is these last 10 years of my life have flown by so fast because all I've done is work and placed my job as more of a priority higher than anything else including my family and I'm realizing I'm not getting any younger. So it might be better to stay with my flexible part-time job and hold off that. Thanks for listening and letting me ramble you know Wanh, wanh, wanh,wuh-wahn like Charlie Brown in the Peanuts...ok I've lost my mind! :D

Hi all,
I guess I fit in here. :D

My husband and I have done 3 IUIs that haven't worked and are moving on to IVF. I start taking my bcp on 5/13 when my cycle starts and then start with the shots & meds around 6/1-6/2. I'm so very nervous with the needles and the whole not knowing thing. My insurance will pick up a huge piece of the cost but we will still have a few grand out of pocket. This is like our one and only shot.

Man I'm reading these posts and I gotta say, it's like everyone is talking a different language. I'm sure when all is said and done I'll get it all figured out. I start my bcp on Friday (supposed to get AF then). I love our doctor. She explains everything in "dummy" terms as I call it so my husband and I understand.

The list of meds the IVF coordinator emailed me is...outrageous. Looks like we will start suppression check (i think that's what it's called) on June 1. Should know if it's a BFP or BFN on June 30.
