Hi ladies! How are you? Thank you so much to all of you for your continued support & concern. It means so much! I'm doing ok...I guess. It really sucks, but what can we do but keep working through this? We had our WTF appointment this past Thursday. Basically, the RE thinks that it is the sperm (not something we didn't already know). The way he explained it is that once the embryo gets past the 3rd day, it is the sperm that contributes to the growth, development, & division of the embryo. Since we made it to a 5dt but they weren't blasts but compacted morulae, it is most likely that the sperm contributed to the morulae not continuing their growth & not implanting. He said that although there are many women who get BFPs w/ morulae on a 5dt but that means the morulae continued growing & they were just a little slow in the beginning. Since I got a BFN, they were not good to begin w/.

I don't really know what our next step is. To be honest, DH & I were not on good terms for a while b/c I brought up donor sperm/embryos & he said that I was giving up. This was before our WTF appointment. I told him I wasn't & I was just thinking ahead & discussing an option that we may need to consider. He told me he is against it.

We are doing better, I think at least. He told me (this was the last thing he said in regards to donor) that he needs time to try to get him into that mindset. I don't know...I hope he does b/c I told him I cannot have a life w/o a child. I told him that it's not about his or mine, but about raising a child together. I think he is really scared. Well, we may cycle again in July/August, but take like 4 of my eggs & fertilize them w/ donor sperm & the rest w/ DH's sperm. If the donor sperm create healthy looking embryos/blasts, then it will confirm that it is solely a sperm issue & nothing to do w/ the eggs. We can then freeze those embryos/blasts if DH will not be ready to go through w/ it & then do an FET when he is.

Ester - I am so sorry. those are all hard decisions. Its probably a good idea regarding half/half donor and DH sperm. there is a test you can do that we did to check the quality of sperm DNA. its called SCSA test. it looks at sperm DNA fragmentation and integrity. its about $400-500 -maybe worth spending the money to see how sperm DNA looks like. if the result is borderline then you can keep trying with your own sperm, but if it is real bad then maybe your DH will realize its a really long shot and will be convinced to go for donor sperm. ask you RE about this test.

Hello ladies!!! It's official, I am PUPO""""

In the car on my iPad and it won't let me upload a pic of my gorgeous embies but I will attach it to my NEW TICKER when I get home. The tough decision on transferring 3 versus 4 was made for me, one of the four did not survive the thaw. Funny thing? All this time I thought they were three day embies when in fact there were two day embies. So when you see the photo you'll see a 5 cell, a 4 cell, and a 2 cell...but it's EARLY! Quality was really good on 2 of them and the 4 cell showed a smidge of fragmentation but still a 2 on my clinic's 1 to 4 scale ( one is the best). The other two were two plus gradings. The best part is that my lining was the best it has ever been at 11!!!

I feel so good about this and am keeping the PMA going all the way. No obsessive research, POASing, or worry. I'm going to read relax and chill for two days and then go back to an incredibly exciting trip at work. My mental state has never been better.

The best part? Its finally going to be in the 70s tomorrow in Northern Michigan ( which we affectionately refer to as Northern Exposure.) RE agreed that it would be great for me psychologically to do my bed rest from the lounge chair on my deck that overlooks our lake.

I can't think of any better way to ward off the craziness of the 2 ww.

Moorebaby- I suspect we may be in the same boat given that we had 6 of nine fertilized embies looking real good at day three but three morulae and an early blast on day 5 in our last cycle. It is tough on DH and it naturally causes a lot of strain. Hang in there and take care of yourself. Sounds like you have a great plan. Blessings to you as you move forward.

Can I tell you all How excited I am to be PUPO on mothers day..DH and I did a three day transfer 2-8 cell grade A and 1- 6 cell grade b...We go for first beta May 19th...I really hope it works this time I have a good feeling about it....Its so nice my husband has been waiting on me hand and foot since ER on Thursday..He says I deserve it how cute it that..
