The second line on my HPTs continue to get darker. I no longer have to stand in perfect lighting and hold it "just right" to see the line. Wishing my beta was tomorrow instead of Monday. I told Amanda that if I had a valid excuse/reason to ask for it to be moved up I would do so but since I don't, I'll suffer through waiting until Monday and continue to POAS daily. :)

Hello all I hope everyone is doing well!!
Went and had our first US today..Doc scared the crap out of me at first they could not find a hb. My DH is the one who found it on the screen. HB was at 135, which made me very excited, I was even able to hear it. It was the most amazing and magical thing I have ever heard. I am still a little nervous I am only measuring 6w2d and I am supposed to be 7 weeks today. So he said were if I measured on time my MC rate would only be 5% and it is still between 15-20%. He did go ahead and release me to my reg doc Im excited about that she is wonderful. I go next Wed for a second ultrasound. I am scared to death. I want this so bad and my specialist said he didn't think there was anything to worry about but how can not I worry about all of this. Have any of you ladies measured 5 days behind and go for the second u/s and everything be fine. Oh and they also decided to keep me on the PIO until July 11th, and here I thought I was only going to have 2 more weeks of the stuff, but its ok I will take it if it means that my little bean will stick and I will have a Happy and Long pregnancy

Hi all

I POAS this morning and it was a negative. To be honest, I wasn't surprised. I don't know how to describe it but it's been a strange old cycle. I have felt slightly detached all along. I think I knew that 3 out of 3 BFPs would be just too good to be true. Even though the first two pregnancies did not result in a healthy full term baby. Anyway, I'm disappointed of course but just want to move on. DH and I can only financially and emotionally do another cycle. So here's hoping that next time is the ONE! I'll POAS again tomorrow morning just incase but my betas on Monday and my BFPs have always shown up when I've tested 2 days before previosuly.

I'm feeling a bit delicate at the moment because our last baby would have been due yesterday. However, I think I was more affected by the date that I was meant to finish work to go on maternity leave i.e. 2 wks ago. I went out to a movie and a meal with one of my bestfriends last night to keep me occupied. That really helped.

Anyway folks, once again onward and upward. DH and I are off on a two week holiday to Australia next in a week and a bit. Talk about good timing.

Nancy- a big huge congrats to you. You so deserve this. :D Beta on Monday. How many embies did you transfer again?

To everbody else, I'll catch up on personals later once I've had a bit of head space.

Jmbella- I have never been preggo until now so I can't tell you from personal experience, but I have been doing A LOT of reading about early miscarriage and everything I have found indicated that every baby is different and develops in their own way at their own time. There are hundreds of stories of babies measuring ahead and behind. I wouldn't worry about it too much. The fact that you have a strong healthy HB is a very good sign. Hang in there.

Tess- Wow. My heart is aching for you and the pain that you are feeling...however it technically is still to early to test. It is entirely possible that you could have a positive beta on Monday and just have a slow starter in there. Don't give up hope yet. Hugs and prayers to you. Whatever happens, a trip with DH sounds wonderful. Keep doing what you are doing and focus on the positive.

Tess,
Don't give up hope. It's not over until the beta lady sings. Your transfer was 2 days after mine, right? So it might still be too early for HPT. This IVF road stinks and is so hard.

We only had one embie left so that's what we transferred. I've been cramping at night about 30 min to an hour and a half before my PIO shot each night. Within 30 min of PIO the cramping stops. I don't cramp any other time all day long. It still had me freaked a bit so I called my IVF nurse today. I was thinking maybe we should check my progesterone and then was hoping they would just go ahead and do beta. LOL. She said that I'm in the highest dose of progesterone and to try very hard to do my shot at same time each night or within 30 min of it. In the past they've said within an hour but I guess with me cramping they are closing that gap a bit. She said it's good I feel fine all day long. Then she said "see you Monday".

Nice try Nancy. Lol :-) :-) :-) Looks like that wasn't enough to warrant an early beta. The good news is that it sounds like you are doing just fine! FYI- I had EXTREME cramping the day of my beta. That night in my sleep I thought for sure I was losing any pregnancy that might have stuck. I am sure that the cramping was just my uterus stretching. I have had a little more here and there. Also a fair amount of cramping due to my digestive system moving slowly during pregnancy. I think it just means you have a healthy pregnancy taking hold.

Hey Guys,

Just crashing to let you guys know that..I FINALLY TOLD MY PARENTS THEY ARE GOING TO BE GRANDPARENTS FOR THE 6TH TIME on yesterday at my house while they were visiting for my sisters graduation.

I really didn't know what to type of reaction to expect since my son is almost 18 and I'm sure they thought I was done with the baby making business but they were HAPPY & of course SURPRISED. I am just glad that I was able to tell them in person and not over the phone. We had a wonderful BBQ and had a great time out on my deck. Now, to tell my Mother-in-Law...hahaha! :P

I have my 1st Official Pre-Natal appointment on Tuesday (14th) and I'm so excited!!! I am concerned about "high Risk" issues and possible Birth Defects and is really considering CVS screenings. I don't want to jeopardize my pregnancy but I want to know up front if there are any challenges we may be facing, so that we can make sound decisions as to what's best for everyone involved. I am convinced that my child is healthy & strong yet, I will ask my doctor what my options are on Tuesday.

Have a great evening...I will touch base on Tues

blady: what a great story! i know first trimester screenings can be scary, but I hope DH can go with you. Makes it a little less stressful. Good luck ;)

bliss: i had some cramping too. now, i can't tell if its ligament pain or gas. ugh.

afm: u/s got moved up to tomorrow. still feeling pretty nauseous, so I'll take that as a good sign. hope to see the hb tomorrow!

Blaqdymun ~ With in the last few years there is a new test that can be done with no harm to the baby it is called nuchal translucency screening test. I think most clinics do it routinely now.

blady: sounds familiar. if i temember correctlt, it's an ultrasound ( the cool 4-D one) and some bloodwork. awedome to see the baby ( and it looks like a baby, even at 9 weeks!), but scary because it is a screening test. pain and risk free though. will DH be going with you?
