Oh Ryann! What an emotional roller coaster! Thank you for sharing it with us. It's such a relief to hear both babies are doing so much better already. Bella will get the hang of things soon and YAY Dylan for taking charge of that feeding tube. He wanted to drink his milk himself like a big boy!

As for the pumping... my colostrum took four days to come in, so DO hang in there. When it finally does, you'll feel like a champ!

Congrats again, girl! Welcome to twin mommyhood! Now the fun begins!

Ryann and Stephanie - Thank you so much for sharing your birth stories. It is amazing that both of you were able to deliver. I loved every minute of your stories and they give me so much hope and information. It is so scary/exciting to think that I should be (hear that Leora) the next twin mamma to go. You are both amazing and so lucky. I look forward to hearing more stories from you about adjusting to your new lives and the babies at home. Thank you!!

Mamaboo - So glad you level II US went well and you got good news!!

Kat - have fun camping. Sound wonderful but good luck with the bathroom issues - hopefully you will get a site near the bathrooms!

Lou - YAY for a new car.

Mellow - Marlo is such a fighter - Almost 4 lbs - she is really starting to gain the weight - good job with the breastfeeding! I am glad you found out what happened with Claire - it doesn't make it easier but atleast you have the answers.

Leora - Congrats on the AC - I couldn't imagine being without. That will make things so much better. I'm glad your boys are moving around for you. It is amazing how often you feel them. I am always trying to guess what position they are in and which one is which. I think I know but I'm sure I really have no idea. Glad to hear you OB appt went well - sounds like you have a busy 3 weeks.

Amanda - thanks for the info on CD. I will look into those other brands as well. I think we will just get a few assorted and then buy more of what we like. I know I want the inserts and not the diapers you have to fold up. I have heard a lot of really good things about the hemp inserts - I'm going to get some too. Also the gro-via have a biodegradable liner that you can place over the insert that will "catch" the pop so you can just toss in toilet. You can actually use with any diaper. And they have disposable inserts to use when you will be out for awhile and don't want to carry a dirty diaper around with you. I thought those were some interesting options.

Freckles - loved the family pictures - just gorgeous.

Rio - I hope you are doing alright!! I am sending you good thoughts and prayers.

AFM - Off to Indiana to see the in-laws. Everybody have a great weekend - I hope it is a quiet one!!

Stephanie and Ryann - i love your birth stories. So glad that all turned out so good.

Kat - I have myself set up for a camping trip in September. yes, I will be like 30 weeks preggo. Can't believe i am going to do that. The only saving grace is a friend is going to borrow a trailer from his parents and i might be able to stay in that. It has a bathroom so i won't have to walk as far to go pee..

Mellow - Glad to hear that Marlo is doing well. She will be home before you know it.

Mamaboo - YEY!! so happy that your level II scan came back normal. Such a relief. My friend had a bad 20 week u/s. They said that her little one had fluid in his lungs. They went back a few weeks later for a follow up u/s and all the fluid was gone. I always kind of wonder if those machines play tricks on the eyes.

Lou - Congrats on the new car. I love new cars but I am so tired of payments.

AFM - Went to the OB yesterday for checkup. Belly is measuring on target. Baby HR is good. I saw the midwife and not the OB. Midwife is now concerned because i haven't gained any weight. I don't know what to tell her. they have me on the GD diet and I eat less now then i did before i was pregnant. i can't be on this diet and gain weight. I hardly ever get actually hungry so it isn't like i am starving myself. She said we will have to do some changes if i come back in 4 weeks and still have not gained weight. blah blah blah.. I think as long as the baby is getting bigger then i should be OK and he is defiantly getting bigger. I am also getting another u/s done on Monday because at my previous u/s they couldn't get a good pic of the heart and the face. Going to a new place for the u/s so I am hoping they have a 3d/4d machine. that would be cool.

FrecklesDC wrote:Hello everyone. I just wanted to upload a few pictures of the family that we took on Saturday. I didn't do any maternity pics so I could do these! LOL! :D :D

I hope everyone is doing great. We are on freakin' cloud 9....I could not imagine it would feel this way. I don't mind in the least getting up at 3am to feed him or changing 15 poopie diapers a day. It's such a blessing. I will definitely write my birth story as soon as I have a moment. Is anyone else out there pumping breastmilk and supplementing formula due to latching issues? I wanted to exclusively breastfeed but due to his high levels of bilirubin, he didn't latch well so I'm having to pump and supplement formula as needed. Love everyone here. Hope you are all doing GREAT!!!!! :D :D :D
I'm pumping and supplementing. I tried nursing, but both of my sons are "tongue suckers" according to our lactation consultant. Basically their tongues are always locked up on the roof of the mouth. Which makes for exceptionally sore, tore up nipples for mommy!

Plus, with twins, it's easier to actually see how many ounces of milk they are drinking. AND every few hours, I get 15 minutes or so of some MUCH needed alone time.

Unfortunately, I will have to stop at the end of the month since I'm going back to work. My job definitely doesn't allow time for ANY breaks, so 20 minutes every 3 to 4 hours to pump is totally out of the question. :( At least they will have gotten close to 6 weeks worth of "liquid gold" and it's benefits.

Stephanie- beautiful birth story! Your boys do have beautiful big brown eyes. Very sweet.

Ryann- I loved your story too, especially reading it as another first time Mom. You were a champ. Good work mama!

Lou- I went straight for the one you recommended, the Sonoline B 3mhz. DH and I were just talking about trying it again tonight. I made the mistake of telling him that some women claim their babies don't like it and kick at it/move away from it so now he is not as into it as he was. We'll see. Congrats on the new ride.

Mellow- so happy Marlo keeps progressing and that you were also able to get a little clarity about what happened.

Leora- congrats on the terrific appointment and also the air conditioner. I live in a mild climate, it barely gets above 80 here in peak summer months and I have been sleeping with the window unit on every night for a month. You are one tough mama! Glad you get some relief now.

Glad the site was back up. I was worried I was going to miss another birth announcement. But I know we don't want another one right away. Still, you ladies have this habit of surprising exeryone and going out of turn.

DH heard the HB after only 30 seconds of looking last night!!! It was great and strong. Then Mom came over today and I gave up after only 5 minutes of trying. I don't want to worry/obsess over it and try to hard to find it. It was so special last night though. DH just lit up the second we found it. :D I found the baby on the opposite side of where I found the LO last time. It was weird, the spot felt tighter/harder than the rest of my belly which makes me think he/she was really close to the surface which was why it was so much easier. Amazing that I would be able to "feel" the baby this soon. But who knows...it was on the right side and I am constipated so it could be that too. Yuck!

Ryan and baby blue than you both for those beautiful birth stories I sobbed like a baby...lol It made me even more jealous since I too wish I could have a vag delivery but because of TAC have to have a c-sec

Ryan I am so glad the babies are doing well and can't wait to see pics

Stephanie I think you are a champ for even breastfeeding for 6 weeks...some women just don't want to do it at all so you are doing a great thing for them

Rio you and I are indeed next   I can't believe how it snuck up on me...lol Don't worry I have no intention of jumping ahead of you. My cervix remains 2.2 cm and the baby is really high up now so I think you will in fact be next :D

Blissful yay on hearing the heartbeat quickly with the doppler I think it is so reassuring to have a doppler and you never know I have been feeling baby Paul move since 13 weeks so anything is possible

to have fun don't let those midwives scare you weight gain is very individual and regardless of how much you gain the baby still takes what it needs. With my son who is now 11yrs old I only gained 12 lb in the entire 9 months and my son was born a healthy 9lb 1 oz so as long as you are eating healthy don't let them get you worried

AFM nothing new :) everything is well thank God :) just moving right along and trying to give this baby as much time as possible to chunky up

Thank you everyone for your warm compliments to my glamor pics

Chris - I agree with Anna. I didn't start gaining weight until around 20 weeks myself and had gained 42 lbs in the end. If you're following your GD diet, which it sounds like you are, you and your babe will be just fine, I'm sure.

Anna - I LOVE your pics!!! You have such a beautiful bump and gorgeous eyes!

Dear all.

Yesterday at precisely 22 weeks 5 days we have missed our little baby boy.
I was hospitalized on Monday night with contractions that could not be stopped even with the most aggressive treatment.
I have suffered all week from contractions refusing to give in. I was silent and not screaming my pain, fighting for our miracle boy. On Friday morning I felt I would faint. Without any time to be given epidural I had to deliver our preterm beloved first child. He was otherwise completely healthy and precious and beautiful looking just like my husband. The love of my life who is always a rock cried while watching his son for the first and last time. My husband's worst flashback is me crying and my worst flashback is him crying at the sight of our son. I refused to believe it was over. Nobody knows the reason I went into preterm labor. My beloved belly, the first pregnant belly I ever got a chance to joy with and NOT FOR A DAY TOOK FOR GRANTED disappeared immediately after the delivery. The physical pain during and now can not be compared to now watching the both of us united in our lifetime nightmare. We have no idea how to cope and if we will ever be able to keep a pregnancy because we don't know the reason it ended. I want to isolate myself and never leave the house - having to otherwise explain to just anyone who has seen me why I'm not pregnant neither carrying a baby.
We are lost in pain. Now I will painfully remove my ticker.

Oh sweet Kay. We are so deeply sorry for your incredible loss. I was waiting in the parking lot of a grocery store when I read your post. When DH got in the car and asked me what was wrong I broke down sobbing. My heart breaks for you and I know it doesn't even begin to compare to how you are feeling. Praying for you and DH.

Waiting for Kay - words cannot express how we all feel for you to have lost a perfect baby boy at almost 23 weeks. I am so very sorry for your incredible loss, there are some wonderful girls on this board that unfortunately went through the same thing and might be able to offer you some words of wisdom. I hope that after you take time to grieve, that you are able to try again, KarenScorpio just delivered a perfect little girl and she lost twins a while back to PTL, so I know it is too early to think about this but I wiash with all my heart that you get pregnant again and get to hold your perfect term baby!
