. I have just had a day 5 blastocyst transfer on Monday (8/8/11), so I'm in the same boat as far as the waiting game. Although, I have taken time off work this time and sitting at home trying to relax and not not think about what is going on down below. I have also been having regular acupuncture sessions which I have felt has been helping (particularly with the lining of my womb this time round as it is definitiely thicker). However, still confused about when the blastocyst actually implants after transfer (72hours is what I'm thinking but, might be wrong). Also, pros and cons about using low dose aspirin-my doctor was ambivalent about its benefits but, said there would be no side effects if I wanted to use it. However, my acupuncturist/chinese medicine expert warned against it's use. Any ideas/thoughts/recommendations?
Congrats on being PUPO!!! I hope this cycle brings you your BFP! When's your BETA?
This explains when things happen in a 5dt:
this is what happens in a 5dt :
-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT
