Waiting...and waiting and waiting....

Post by kimmyB »

Hi Ladies

When I was TTC #1 I was on these boards a lot. Now four years later I am back. The short story for me is that I have unexplained infertility issues. We conceived #1 with IUI and injections. Two years ago when my husband needed a kidney transplant we did an IVF freeze all cycle. We were able to free seven grade 1 and 2 embryos. We tried our first FET (natural cycle in February of this year). We transferred two and I was devastated to get a BFN. We just did another transfer on Sunday (8/7/11). This time we transferred three grade 2 embryos and did assisted hatching. I am now in the dreaded wait and could use some friends.

Hi there, first time using this website. Had an IVF cycle last year which was unsuccessful :(. I have just had a day 5 blastocyst transfer on Monday (8/8/11), so I'm in the same boat as far as the waiting game. Although, I have taken time off work this time and sitting at home trying to relax and not not think about what is going on down below. I have also been having regular acupuncture sessions which I have felt has been helping (particularly with the lining of my womb this time round as it is definitiely thicker). However, still confused about when the blastocyst actually implants after transfer (72hours is what I'm thinking but, might be wrong). Also, pros and cons about using low dose aspirin-my doctor was ambivalent about its benefits but, said there would be no side effects if I wanted to use it. However, my acupuncturist/chinese medicine expert warned against it's use. Any ideas/thoughts/recommendations?

Congrats on being PUPO!!! I hope this cycle brings you your BFP! When's your BETA?
This explains when things happen in a 5dt:

this is what happens in a 5dt :

-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

DH: 38 (Severe MF)

IVF 6: BFP...it's twins!!

Praypositive, my clinic uses low dose aspirin in their protocol. The idea behind it is it can help prevent miscarriages that occur from blood clots. The low dosage is not detrimental in any way. It's the full dose aspirin that is to be avoided. :D

Hi again,

Thanks for the advice;especially 'Moorebaby' about blast process of implantation. My pregnancy test at clinic is next Wednesday 17/8/11.

Thanks also for the post about aspirin-thinking of starting it today. Getting fed up of my self imposed house arrest have been taking it easy since Monday and haven't left the house for last 2 days- I'm thinking I'm probably doing myself more harm dwelling on what if's and need to get some fresh air.
Bye for now.

You know, the nonstop wondering.. can the 17th possibly take any longer to get here?

Ester - Hi honey! I read and silently cheer you on when I can. I'm sending you loads and loads of babydust because THIS one is your time girl!! It seems like a lot of us oldtimers have left or dont post anymore? I know you're getting ready soon and will be cheering you on!

Dogzrule - Hi, I remember you, we were in the same cycle group when you got your BFP with your DD. Congratulations on your present BFP and whoo hoo for making a sibling!

Chris - OMG girl, when did you get to be 26 weeks?? I'm so happy for you!! Wait until you see how having a little one at home is like being in a time warp - I swear that one week in babyland is like a month in the real world. And boy does the time go fast! I do check in and read but having the time to post the way i'd like to is next to impossible. You'll see what I mean in 14 weeks!! I hope that you're feeling good and not too uncomfy yet, I didnt get that way until about the last 8 weeks, which were umm, not fun. Nope, the batch that my RE gifted us with were 4 blasts that just 2 survived and 2 transferred that one of which is my DS. I was blessed by an angel I met right here on these boards with the opportunity to try for a sibling. A truly amazing couple to donate embies to us. I feel like I've hit the lottery twice. Now if only I could survive the rest of the 2ww.. its day 5 and counting and you know how bad I want to POAS, but I'm afraid to. I know you understand the mixed emotions that those darn sticks bring up. But I may have to because I really am torturing myself and my DH with the nonstop wondering if it worked. Sorry that I wrote you a book, I should have just PM'd you, but I was so happy to hear from you! xoxoxo

Katie - That is awesome that you had another couple to donate. I have seen several gals on other boards trying to find donor embryo's and it isn't easy. i know your feelings on POAS. This last cycle i wouldn't do it. I had seen so many negatives and this was probably our last chance. i couldn't take the emotional downfall if i saw another negative. then i had my beta and it was positive. the next morning i POAS and it was negative. I was so pissed. I was all ready to see those 2 double lines and nope it wasn't happening. I finally tore open the test and held the test strip up to the light and i could barely see the 2nd line. took all my fun away.. LOL!! Pregnancy is going well. i really don't have anything to complain about. its just going way to fast. 98 more days to go. Wow!! I'll be checking on you.

I'll be checking in on you and am dying to see you get that BFP! For me, ummm yes, I've been POASing every day since 6dp, 7dp, 8dp and today 9dp5dt and all are negative, not even a hint of a second line  . Tomorrow is beta day, but I cant say that i'm thinking it will be the answer that I want.. but we'll see, right? Much love to you girl! - xoxoxo
