Bodie - welcome and congrats on the twins girls!

Jen - I'm glad you have been able to use the fetal doppler to check out your LOs HB. I know it really puts your mind at ease to see such a strong HB. And yay on no bleeding!

Yingz - Sorry to hear you have been so exhausted lately. My feet are so swollen too! I've been using compression socks which really seem to help.

Moore - You have some beautiful names on your list! I've been thinking of maybe doing two middle names for our little guy because we STILL cannot agree on a name.

Wishing - I'm so jealous that you guys are on the beach! So glad to hear about the great OB appt.

LYD - wow! That is a strong beta, I am SO excited for you! But sorry to hear about ending up in the hospital :(

Bliss - oh goodness! I am so glad to hear things are settling down and Evie is looking good. And she just looks gorgeous in that 4-D pic!!

Long - yay on every two weeks for visits! Before you know it, you will be going every week and then you will be holding your LO in your arms. I know once I hit that two week visit mark, things just started to speed up. Now I am a week and a half from my due date, so crazy! We have a bob stroller and a peg perego car seat.

Dallas - I hope your LOs decide they want a 2011 birthday and come soon! Sorry to hear it hurt when they stripped your membrane :(

Katie - that was SO sweet of your DH! And congrats on every two week appts!

AFM - I am thinking my LO is going to be late, or at least not coming any time soon. I was telling DH that since they aren't calling for snow any time soon, this little guy is going to keep on baking. On the day when we get hit by a big snow storm, that is the day he is going to arrive :) Next OB appt is on Thurs, and hopefully I have made some progress. I thought maybe I had a contraction or two yesterday, but I really have no clue what I should be feeling.

LYD- I am 5'6", I weighed 125 prior to pregnancy, I have gained 40pounds so far. My last growth scan was 4wks ago and each baby was 5 pds. I actually have another scan tomorrow, assuming I dont go into labor before. They are estimating that they are over 6pds, maybe even close to 7. I measure small for twins, finally measured 40cm yest at 37wks. I have actually grown the most just since the last 2wks. I kinda look wierd.. I have not gained any wt in my face or anywhere but my belly and have pencil thin arms. I joke that I look like a cartoon character, haha. Fingers crossed for twins for you!

Bliss: Love the pic! Amazing! Grace was delivered at 36w4d and she didn't have to spend any time in the NICU . . . she was under observation and had to stay an extra day in the hospital after I was discharged (so sad to leave the hospital without your baby!), but she was (and still is) perfect! Can you believe Evie will be here in less than a week!? Yay!

Addy & Dallas: I hope you deliver sooner than later =)

Sunshine: my birthday is correct. Thx!

Bonnie: wow! possibly twins? awesome!

Lyd: I hear ya on Zofran. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and still have to refill my zofran prescription. I was waaaaaay sicker with baby #2.

Katie: our due dates are so close! I'm due 2.2.12 . . . wanna race? :D

longtimer: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bob . . . I don't find it bulky or hard to carry at all . . . and it's a dream to push . . . we went with the GRACO snugride 32 for our car seat . . . we put a base in my car and DH's car . . . and there is a BOB adapter for the car seat too, so it snaps right in to the BOB stroller . . . we went with avent bottles . . . our other must haves: Pampers swaddlers diapers, baby wipes warmer, diaper genie, butt paste, white noise machine, The Happiest Baby on the Block (book), and I can't remember anything else! Ugh! I better remember because DS is due in a few weeks :D

AFM: 35 weeks . . . baby is head down . . . braxtron hicks are in full effect (and painful--yikes!) I wonder if that means Grady will be here sooner than later . . . hmmmmm . . .

Mora- thanks for the encouragement. Were you able to breastfeed Grace? I think that is my second biggest concern about her coming early, I want every advantage possible for feeding and know that sometimes having to be fed by bottle can set us back if she comes early. Glad you mentioned books (I have Dr. Karp's book and hope I don't need it :-)...

EOE- I missed my breastfeeding class because of bed rest. Can any of you recommend a good book on the subject I can download and read while I lie in wait for our little girl?

Bliss, I do not know a good book, but my nurses were super helpful. Don't hesitate to buzz them for latching help. They wuold help me with latching over nd over again. I also had a c-section and stayed extra because of that and got the benefit of latching lessons.

Also, la letche group was helpful. They consulted me on the phone a few times. Later on My supply wasn't the best, because I developed a thyroid issue as a result of pregnancy but didn't know about it. If your supply starts to drop later there is obviously a number of things to check - like making sure you empty both breasts as much as possible - because that's what triggers more milk production. But also check your thyroid hormones to make sure they are where they are supposed to be 3 months after delivery. That's when my milk supply started to drop off.

I think you are supposed to start with the breast that you finished on last session. This way you empty everything completely.

I used Madela pump when back to work and lanolin for nipples to keep from cracking. Put some one beore shower to keep soap and moisture away.

Hello Ladies -

Dallas - thank you for sharing that information!
Its very helpful --
It is wonderful to hear that your pregnancy has gone so well.
Its great to hear that your babies are doing so well and almost close to 7 pounds! Congratulations!!

Our surrogate is 5'2. The cravings of two babies has made her eat a lot of small meals recently so she has put on maternity wear already (We're only 8 wks pregnant).

I do have a question about your pregnancy, Dallas. Is there a scheduled day to induce? Or are you waiting for natural labor to begin?
I think we are under contract to have a C-section at 36 weeks with our surrogate if we have twins.

Thanks for the info!

Best Regards

Dragon- My OB and the high risk OB that I see won't let any twin pregnancy go beyond 38wks. I don't think there are that many that actually make it that long anyway. I will be 38wks on Monday, so that is the day that they have scheduled to induce me. I am really hoping to go naturally, before the new yr comes in. I must say, Im not miserable like I thought I would be. I feel like I could keep on going, but I am ready to meet these little ones. I really cant complain about my pregnancy. I did have "all day sickness" for the first 4 months, but looking back its hard to even remember that now. I also developed hyperthyroidism due to the fact that the hormones that cause morning sickness were so elevated they took over my thyroid gland. I did not have to start meds for this, they just check my blood work monthly. It improved as my sickness decreased. They did say it would come back following delivery due to the hormone adjustments again.

I am battling a terrible cold right now, woke up with it this morning. Ugh!! How ironic though... I came down with an awful cold the day we found out we were preggars, so only fitting that I am sick again just as I prepare to deliver!! I go to the high risk clinic tomorrow to do my monthly growth scan. We will see how much these precious ones weigh!! OR maybe I will meet them before then!!!

Alisa- Oh sweetie, so sorry that you're back in the hospital, but I guess it's better that you & Evie are being monitored. Love the picture if Evie in 4D...she's gorgeous!

longtimerivf- How exciting to be starting the 3rd trimester! Check out my AFM section below to see the things I'm considering for my LOs.

DALLAS- Any sign of labor? I hope your LOs get here before the New Year!

Katie- Originally, we were thinking a 3 bedroom- 1 for us, 1 for the baby, & a spare/guest bedroom. Well, now that we're having 2, a part of me is thinking if we're going to buy in a year or so, we should just go for something we're going to be in for a long time & not a starter home from which we'd have to move in 5 years or so. So, w/ that thought process, I'm thinking as they get older (especially since they're different sexes), they are going to want their own space, so maybe a 4 bedroom would be better. DH doesn't know this yet as he will think I'm crazy & that we won't be able to afford a 4 bedroom. The other option could be a 3 bedroom w/ a finished basement or a basement that could be finished. That could allow us to have space for over-night visitors, etc. What a sweet DH you have...I bet the jewelry he got you is beautiful!

Addy- Thanks on the names! I'm kind of stuck about Madison though. DH's brother has a dog named Madison. I remember when they got her, I was so bummed that they decided to go w/ that name. I'm not sure if we should go w/ that name. DH said the dog isn't going to be around forever, so if I really want to go w/ it, I should. But, Justine is so beautiful to me. I can call her Juju for short. Is your OB appointment today or next Thursday?

Bonnie- How exciting...possibly twins?! Well, either way, you're preggo & that is awesome!

Sunshine- Yes, you have my b-day correct.

AFM- Yesterday, I did some major research on the things that we need for the LOs. Here's what I came up w/:

Stroller: It's between a Kolcraft Contours® Options® II Tandem (http://www.kolcraft.com/products/stroll ... -ii-tandem) & a BabyTrend Sit n Stand (http://www.babytrend.com/strollers_double/). What I love about both of these is that the seats reverse to create different stroller options, so the babies can face each other, both face me, both face away from me, etc. The Contours accepts many different carseats, so that's a plus. However, it doesn't have child trays like the BabyTrend does. However, the BabyTrend says "Accepts two infant car seats: (for better fit and performance you may need to remove the canopy of the stroller)," so I don't know what that means. DH & I are going to BRU today to check out the BabyTrend & play around w/ it. The Kolcraft I've only been able to find online.

Bouncers: These are so adorable! For the boy (Combi Bee Pod Bouncer in Yellow/Black ): http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... GAQ8wIwAg# For the girl (Combi Lady Bug Pod Bouncer in Red/Black ): http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... FwQ8wIwAQ#

Sawddlers: Summer Infant Swaddleme Cotton Knit http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Swa ... 013&sr=8-7 For the girl, we're going to go w/ the ladybug print & for the boy, DH wants the monkey print.

Boppies: This is a must for the girl (Boppy Heirloom Pillow - Ladybug): http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... ybug&ajr=2

Activity Play Gym: Another must for the girl (Lady Bug Lucy Activity Play Gym): http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... Id=3997464

Pack n Play: Graco Pack N Play Playard with Twins Bassinet http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... GYQ8wIwAA#

Nursing: This was a great read for me & very informative: http://www.lowmilksupply.org/nipples.shtml So, based off that, I'm going to go w/ the Playtex Drop-Ins System http://www.playtexbaby.com/Bottles/Dropins For BFing, I'm considering the The Playtex System Petite Double Electric Breast Pump http://www.playtexbaby.com/Breastfeedin ... reast-Pump

Please let me know ladies what your thoughts are. I want real & truthful thoughts & suggestions based on what you've heard/been told, your experience, etc. This is all so new to me.

Ester- I'm so impressed with all of your research! As far as strollers go, our biggest issue with most of them was that there were only certain infant carriers that you could use with them. I really wanted to go with Peg Perego, and most cannot hold 2. That's why we went with the double Snap n' go and a separate Bob. There are lots of great options though!

Alisa- I'm sorry you're in the hospital, but glad Evie is doing well! She's gorgeous!

I have to run, so I'll do more personals later!

Ester, my on, comment would be on the breast pump and I went with Madela as most moms at my work. It was pricey but well worth it. Good motor that lasted a long time and good strong suction.
