LYD, wonderful news! Can't wait to hear more about how you feel now that you know it's twins!! I bought a couple of twin books that I've been reading...I'll let you know which one I think is the best once I get a little more ready in both!

DragonDad, I'm so glad you defined IF...I wasn't sure what it meant either!

NY4thtry, welcome! So glad to have you!

Margie, I saw the TWINs thread you started and will be joining! I am starving for as much information as possible to prepare for this wild twin ride! Thanks for starting the thread:)

I'm sorry I'm not doing more personals, I'm just trying to catch up on everybody and I do keep reading! It's so exciting for those of you close to delivery!!

OMG I am so far behind! Congrats to all of our new mothers. I just love reading the birth stories so keep em coming!

Welcome to all of our new expecting parents Image. So cool to see that we have a dad on board, will be nice to the different perspective!

This is definitely the twin board - just too exciting!!

DragonDad - They can determine the sex at the NT scan but it is so unreliable that I would not bet to much on it. MY OB would not even tell us what it was at the NT scan, he claims he hates to tell parents something that is only 40-50% accurate, only to tell the opposite at the 20wk ultrasound.

Jen - What makes you think you are having a girl? The only reason I ask is because I really FEEL that I am having a boy and everyone at work thinks I am insane. I am so glad that you are uneventful at 13wks!!!! You are so lucky not to be having symptoms ... I have been suffering. But I know it is for a good cause.

AFM - I have been having my ups and downs. I was having dizzy spells earlier this week and took a few days off. I feel much better. I went to see the OB and he did not seem too concerned. I am wondering if I am a bit anemic, but I am also trying not to be a hypochondriac. Still vomiting all over the place ... I have gotten pretty good and quickly vomiting and moving on. No longer as nauseous as I used to be though. All in all the 2nd trimester is much better than the first so I am grateful. Gender ultrasound on the 26th!! But like said - I just know it is a boy. Finally had to break down and buy maternity clothes. The bump is definitely there now and I wish I had bought them sooner, I am so much more comfortable! None of my bras fit so I guess next week I need to invest in some of those as well. I finally got my fetal heart monitor to work consistently!!! All in all I feel blessed!

QOTW - For those of you who have delivered...what advice do you have for the other ladies on the board? For you ladies and gent in waiting, what part of the birth experience is most important to you and why?

I have to admit that I cannot wait for them to place my little one on my chest right after delivery. I just think that is such a precious moment and I know that there are so many things that can keep that from happening. When I was in nursing school (15 years ago) they used to put babies right to the breast immediately after delivery. It seems like they have gotten away from that and I am not sure why ... at the time it was thought to facilitate latching on for breast feeding and I just thought it was such an important piece of the delivery. I have no expectations for everything else, just really want what is best for my little one.

Take Care!!!

ttcnb-How are you holding?

Felicia- Your answer to the QOTW made me so emotional. That is one of the moments I'm looking forward to as well & one of the reasons I'm hoping for a vaginal delivery. So sorry you haven't been feeling good. I had the same thoughts earlier in my pregnancy...wodering of I was anemic & if I needed to increase my iron count. The OB said my LOs were getting more than enough through my prenatals. Wow, you just bought maternity clothes at 19 weeks! I've been in them since I was about 8 weeks, lol, but I am having 2! I can't wait till the 26th to find out what flavor your LO is!

Nancy- Glad you're caught up on work & hope it stays that way! Let us know how next week's appointment goes!

Mora- Woohoo for starting your leave! DS will be here soon!

Lydia- HOLY COW!!! I'm beyond excited for you! Just so you know, it is very possible to have none or a few symptoms as surprising as that may be. I never threw up; just had queassy feelings. I had no appetite & had to force myself to eat. I did have really sore (.)(.) & my major symptom was exhaustion. I hope you don't get as tired as I did since you have a toddler to also take care of. I remember I'd come home from school & be in bed by 6 & sleep all the through the next morning & still be tired. As soon as the 2nd trimester started, most of these symptoms went away.

Jen- Great to hear from you! Yeah, I wouldn't rely on the NT scan gender result...it's still too early. Glad your results were good! That's always a relief! I loved it when I no longer looked chunky or fat, but actually had a bump.

Margi- I saw your new thread...LOVE it!!! Thank you for doing that!

longtimerivf- Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry! Is there any way you can work part-time or from work a few days a week? Is you LO going to be in day care when you go back to work? You can vent anytime you want...we're here for you!

DragonDad- Congrats on hitting the double digits! I remember that milestone!

Alisa- Sounds like you're really enjoying motherhood! Glad little Evie is doing good! I can help out w/ the list for a few months if you'd like to message it to me.

kbillsy- That is nice that your perinatologist's office is quick & on top of things! Carbs & dairy is all I really crave, too! Hope you're enjoying your reading this weekend.

Barbara-Your LO is beautiful! Your response to the QOTW was well-said! I couldn't agree any more!

NY- Welcome & congrats!

AFM- DH just ran out to Walmart b/c I'm craving Doritos & soda...I know not very healthy; in fact, not healthy at all! But. I've been so good, I figured I could cheat a little. Dh just called asking me what kind of diapers he should get...I guess he wanted to start being independent w/ purchasing things for the LOs. I think it's so cute! I have been somewhat emotional & crying a lot. On Thursday, I had to cry my eyes out in the school psychologist's office b/c I just couldn't hold the tears in anymore. I know it's the hormones b/c then I start laughing. It's so weird! Yesterday, I got a pedi & it felt amazing! Today, we had a maternity photo shoot done by a fellow friend from these boards (if you know MicheleCT, her & her DH do photography on the side). It was a blast! I have Monday off, which I'm so glad for. DH & I are having the hardest time deciding on names. Is anyone else struggling? Hope everyone's enjoying your weekend!

QOTW- For those of you who have delivered...what advice do you have for the other ladies on the board? For you ladies and gent in waiting, what part of the birth experience is most important to you and why?

Answer- I would say that what I'm most looking forward to during the birth experience is finally having them in my arms. Thinking about it makes me so emotional! Of course, having a vaginal delivery will allow for the physical contact w/ my LOs much faster, but all I want is 2 healthy LOs & a healthy mamma at the end. So, however they get into this world, I will be the happiest mother in the world!

QOTW Answer: well I already know that my delivery will be c-section because my first one was and I am not about to attempt vbac with twins. What I am looking forward to most about my delivery is that it happens after 38 weeks! Please please please!

Hello Everyone, and congrats to all of you expecting little ones in 2012! How exciting! Had to crash for a minute your thread for a minute.

Ester- It was so awesome to have you and Tim at the studio yesterday. It is so special and emotional for us to do a maternity or newborn session for a fellow ivf'er. I have been praying for you for so long and am so happy this is finally happening for you. Thank you so much for thinking of us for these special portraits and I am really looking forward to the spring session, and hopefully the newborn ones soon after. But be warned, I am gonna cry when I see your babies! And even though it was only for a minute, I am so glad you got to meet Ella!

To everyone else, if you are ever in CT and want pictures, I would love to meet you and your little miracles! You better look me up! :D

Hi lyd

I'm not saying my doc is right, but the maternal fetal specialist I see said there is actually a higher risk of still birth with twins after 38 weeks. So if they don't come earlier he will induce at 38 weeks. Twins supposedly develop a bit faster than singletons. Anyway, something for you to ask you doc.

Bodie: my regular ob is married to a neo-natologist and told me that her husband told her the same thing. Twins have a higher chance of stillbirth after 38 weeks. However, it is not so when one has had fetal demise. (One of my twins didn't make it. It happened at 21 weeks.) Therefore, they waited until 39 weeks to deliver me (a little early due to previous c-section). Hopefully, you have two healthy babies.

Hi ladies! I hope everyone is doing well!
Had a word with my daycare lady when picking up my DS and to my great joy she agreed to take care of all three at our house! Yey! And her husband helps out too. So we would be getting more than one person for the price of one. I was very happy. Because we have such a great report with her. She is like a grandma to us! I felt very happy! Now I just need to hold my little ones in my arms! I keep thinking. I am only 7 weeks. I still have a long way to go. My next u/s is next Friday and my OB appnt has been scheduled for feb 6th. Exciting! I started going to my spin classes. Which makes me very happy. With my DS that was my main form of exercise and I did it to the day I delivered. With twins I expect my belly to be bigger I should look for a handle extender of some sort. Anyway, way too much planning ahead. I am enjoying this pregnancy with abandon! I hope it stays good. I don't want any sad surprises. I hope I still see two on time babies next Friday.

I *think* I might have felt movement for the first time today. Really low in my abdomen, almost just above my pubic bone if felt like strong popcorn popping. Probably intermittently for about 10 seconds. It was right after I had some grapefruit juice this morning. But nothing since. I really want to believe it was one of the twins moving around. I can't wait to see if I feel it again!! When did all of you start to feel movement?

Bodie that is awesome!!! I started feeling what I "think" is movement about 18 weeks. I am still unsure - sometimes I think it is gas. I think with twins it may be easier to distinguish because there is less space. How exciting :)

Bodie - with my first pregnancy, I didn't feel anything until after 20 weeks, maybe even 24 weeks. With this one, it was around 18 weeks, I think. It is a wonderful feeling and very reassuring too!

I felt Evie at 18 weeks but wasn't SURE until 20 weeks. Its so funny because it will be unmistakeable and wonderful before you know it!

LYD10- are you ready to be "official" yet?

Ester- awesome! I may have to send it to you in a word format through email if you are comfortable sharing that with me. I think if I just message it the blinks will show up but not the code behind it and that is really what you need to cut and paste. PM me if you are comfortable with that.
