Hey Ladies!
How are you guys? Things are pretty good here. I did pull my shoulder out of place. I went to chiropractor this morning and feel much better. Next appt this Thursday for blood work, I guess. Picking my daughter up tonight at the air port. She will be here the next week. We are planning on sewing, canning, and shopping. It should be a lot of fun. Got to stay busy and keep my mind off the FET coming up. It will be here for all of us before we know it. Then we get to cheer each other on waiting for results. Let me know how each of you are doing. :D

One more question? Is anyone feel like they are having a harder time with the Lupron this time then they did previously? I have had headaches, body aches, cramps, and very moody. Left church early yesterday just to go home and have time to myself.

Hi ladies, right, this is my second attempt as the last time my Tablet died and I was just about to submit - now I'm on the laptop! Apologies for not being back before now - I will be a better buddy from now on I promise :D

Wondercat: You are right, the other board is very busy and moves very fast. I'm really sorry to hear about your cousin. Suicide leaves a terrible legacy and its always so hard on the family and friends left behind. My best friend killed himself four years ago and I'm still trying to deal with it - both emotionally in terms of the loss of him and he also made me his executor and it is anything but smooth sailing. As for your experience in the clinic with the doctor - thats terrible, its incredible that a profession that is supposed to care and protect would do such a violent thing

Suzyq: That is appalling what happened to your friend - to starve a pregnancy, viable or otherwise, is barbaric. The trauma she must have gone through must have been horrendous. And as for your experience with the technician - thats terrible!!!!!! And the fact they didn't reply to you is crazy. You asked about POASing - not for me I'm afraid. Well I didn't during my first - I waited til after the beta and then did one! And on the second I knew it was negative as I was bleeding but the hospital wanted me to so I did - and it was negative! So I'm not crazy about them to be honest! How did you pull your shoulder? We don't do lupron in Ireland - but if its for down regulating I use a nasal spray. This time has been the best in terms of I've been on it 10 days and have only had one headache, I'm drinking about 3 litres most days and I think thats helping but AF was due 2 days ago and still no sign which I'm not happy about!!!!!!!!!!! Is there anything else different about your cycle that might be adding to the cramps and moodiness? If not it really could just be the lupron, the ladies on the other board have complained about it very recently.

Catch you later

Hi to everyone,

thank you for letting me join your board - the other board was really confusing to me. I have no experience with FT - had none that made it to that stage.

I have my last BC today and will start stims on Friday - I am so excited even if I dont like the syringe I can't wait to start.
Its been 3 years since we did the last cycle and I have to take Gonal-F instead of Follistim this time. I also take lupron for the first time.

Good luck to everyone

suzyq - Sounds like you have some fun times ahead with your DD! Unfortunately what has been keeping my mind of the upcoming FET is how busy and stressful work has been. I put in 55 hours last week and I feel like the only tangible result is that my son has now gotten used to going to bed at almost 10pm, which is NOT COOL. I have been horrible this time around on the Lupron! Every symptom you list, plus night sweats, bloating, and I can't sleep. I have had a pounding headache all day today. DH is baffled why I don't even want to hear about sex, and his bafflement makes me even MORE irritable (if possible). :)

Ninde - Sorry to hear about your best friend. It was very difficult for my surviving cousin to deal with her brother's estate also. He was a hoarder and had various properties and rented storage units filled with rusted out cars, farm equipment, boats, etc. She is still dealing with the various tax and other legal entanglements. We didn't realize the extent of his problems, when on the surface he was a bright, educated, kind man with many friends and an excellent, high paying job. Horrifying to think he felt enough despair to buy a gun and go out in the woods... and none of us saw it or did anything to help.

kiwi11 - Yes, the other board is rather big and a lot of the women are just finishing their cycle where we are heading into a new one. Funny how we can look forward to sticking ourselves with needles when the end result is so worth it. Yuck on the Lupron, I and some other ladies on here have been noticing worse side-effects this year. Do you know if your Lupron is pre-mixed? I noticed that mine has a note with it informing me that due to a shortage it has been compounded by the pharmacy. Not sure what difference this might make?

I can't believe it's only 2 more weeks until my transfer!!!

Wondercat: my Lupron is not premixed - regular multi-dose. My RE orders through freedomfertility pharmacy and they did not mention any shortage. Just asked if they can sent my package a day later because they had so many orders that the truck was already full :x

I take Lupron for 3 days hope that limits the side effects.

Ninde: when is your transfer scheduled (est)? I am shooting for aug 18 retrieval on the 15th.

How is it with a FT? Is it the same but no retrieval or also different meds?

I wish everyone a good night

kiwi11 - I meant "pre-mixed" as in has a sort of brand name label or is a standard 14-day kit, which is what I remember getting for my previous cycles. What I have now is a little glass bottle in what looks like a prescription pill bottle that has a pharmacy label on it, and they separately boxed up some needles and alcohol swabs -- along with the typed note about the national lupron shortage. THREE DAYS??? You are so lucky! :) With FET there are a lot less shots. There are different protocols, but here is mine:

- June 25 Monday – start birth control pill
- July 14 Saturday – start Lupron shots, 10 units in the morning
- July 18 Wednesday – take last birth control pill
- July 23 Monday at 7:15am – baseline ultrasound, start baby aspirin and Vivelle patches
- August 9 Thursday at 7:15am – check lining thickness, if OK last dose of Lupron that morning
- August 14 Tuesday – call to get a specific time for the transfer
- August 15 Wednesday – estimated date of embryo transfer, take valium 2 hours before

I will also need to start PIO shots and tabs around the time of my transfer. SO not looking forward to that. I'm still getting re-acclimated to the tiny little subcutaneous needles!!

Love to see all your post ladies. This is a great support network. Warms my heart when I see all the post and the support we give each other. This is just the start for us again. I do ghost read the other boards, but like you Kiwi it is too much for me to take in.

Wondercat- Sorry to hear about work. That is not fun. As for your DS he will not remember any of this in a week or so. Good thing little ones are so resilient. Sex! What's that!......LOL....poor hubbies. I too have the bloating and weight gain(6 lbs) to go with it. I swear starting the patches doubled my symptoms.. Gaining the weight always freaks me out a bit, but once pregnant we have an excuse.

Ninde- Protocol is pretty close to the same this time. I do have added stress this time from life and my father's passing. I also think being two years older does not help. I wonder if my body remembers this from last time and has decided to fall apart. My doc suggested that. He said your body does that with pregnancies.

Kiwi- My protocol is very similar to Wondercat's except I was on BC for 5 weeks, no shots after transfer this time, just estrogen suppositories 3X a day. I have never used baby asprin, but will start it at 10 weeks ( if pregnant) for sure for blood pressure.

Got to run will check back as time allows this week. Know I am happy with my girls today.

Hi ladies

Wonder cat: ooh long hours, you must be exhausted!! And a vicious cycle on tne dh and sex issue :( That's one of the awful things about suicide isnt it - even when people have lots of friends and seemi gly reasons to live it can be too painful. My friend was the most popular person and none of us in the end were enough to help him stay alive and i hate he was in so much pain. So only 2 more weeks til transfer?!

Kiwi: retrieval hopefully will be the week of aug 20th depending g on how I respond to the stimms. My protol is also fresh so 19 days of down regging then hopefully stimms while still down regging and then 11-13ish days of stimms then retrieval. I've only ever made it to a two day transfer. How are you feeling?

Suzyq: I chuckled when i read your post about dh s and sex. Mine doesn't want sex - we are the other way around! He has MS and no, literally no sex drive. I always struggle with weight but after two protocals its even worse :( Definately I think the body remembers. Is there anything that might help around the stress of your dad passing? Any sort of ritual, etc?

Afm: af arrived, yay!! Baseline next wed. Going to learn how to use menopur tomorrow, yikes all the mixing looks scary!!!

Sorcet- Where are you and how are you doing?

Ninde- Glad I could give you a chuckle. Sorry to hear your DH has MS. That must be stressful enough without the IVF. It never stops amazing when I read about others' trials on here. I see a lot of tough women going through incredible journeys and coming out of them even stronger. I am glad we are able to share and up lift each other.

Kiwi- Forgot to say welcome earlier. So

Wondercat- I too am sorry to hear about your cousin. Suicide is a terrible thing. I lost my grandfather to it when I was 17. It will never be understood.

Ninde- Sorry for your friend as well. Too tragic. As for my shoulder I guess I slept on it wrong because when I got up that morning my whole arm was numb. Within an hour I could not turn my neck. Thank goodness for chiropractors.

AFN- More of a positive note. Loved the day with my two daughters. Made one skirt and will start the second one tomorrow. We laughed and laughed tonight. I even stuck my foot in my mouth. My DS (14 months) was blowing on some hot food and I said, " Great blow job." before I realized it and the whole family will not let me live it down. It was worth it to see them all rolling on the floor. Then my DH brought in a shaved ice machine he had ordered and we had the best snow cones. We were like a bunch of kids at a carnival. Great day.

OK, I have more time to reply now!

suzyq - That's hilarious telling your DS he is doing great BJ's!! LOL I would have been making fun of you too, but it's amazing how easy it is to say stupid stuff like that! I think you have just inspired me to make an appointment with my chiropractor. Haven't seen him since 2010 when I threw out my back, but I could use some relaxation...

Ninde - How are you doing with the mixing and shots? I am so praying this cycle works so that I don't have to do another fresh one, I am having a hard enough time getting through this one and FET's are "easy"!! My last word on suicide is to say how wonderful it is to find people who can relate to that here on this IVF board. You never know where you will find sources of support, which is why more and more I make a habit out of not hiding the darker parts of my life. They are less bad when shared!

AFM - Yesterday I called my RE because I had been having a heavy AF for an entire week with no signs of letting up. My concern was that this was due to the aspirin they were having me take because my last cycle the aspirin was giving me such bad nosebleeds they had me stop. Sure enough, RE told me to stop the aspirin and today I have no more AF. No hard done according to my nurse, because if my lining doesn't seem thick enough at my exam next week they will just have me up my estrogen. On the home front, my car was broken into last night (nothing stolen - strangely enough nobody wanted a Spiderman bike helmet, hand-knit baby blanket, stale Cheez-its, or any of the other treasures that I keep in my car) and at the vet this morning we found out that one of my cats is going blind. But the day can only get better, right? :)

Hi ladies

Suzyq: you are right, people on this journey are quite amazing. Oh I loved your blow job comment!!!!! Talk about a freudian slip!! How is your shoulder now?

Kiwi: how are you?

Wonder cat: oh tnats a brilliant thought :D wont that be brilliant :D i havnt started mixing the shots yesterday. I was at the clinic yesterday and they showed me the 6 vials of powder and 2 vials of solution!! I'll have to do two injections each night. Oh your day is so not going well. Your poor cat, im really sorry :(

Afm: as I mentioned, went to clinic to be taught how to mix menopur. They told me stimming tends to take longer on menopur, average is 14 nights. I was 11-12 on puragon and had all my work dates organised around it. What is it they say? - People plan, God laughs?!!!

Ninde - I haven't even asked for my transfer day off because I know it might change. My big plan is to call in sick. :)

Oh, and never, never, never, NEVER say, "At least this day can't get worse!" Two guys just tried to break into my house. Probably the same people who rifled cars last night cased out some houses to burgle while people are at work. Fortunately I have a tenant in a basement apartment who was there with his girlfriend and scared them off. What. A. Day. !!!!!!
