Lauren- Just curious how the whole DE works, I see alot of women that are using DE and they know when she stims etc, I guess I just thought it was like DS and you pick out of a catalog and they are pre frozen. I used DS for this Cycle and I think that is why I am pregnant so glad my DH was ok with it

Best of luck Aug 15th will be here before you know it :)quote]
So, for the DE cycle, the way it works for us, is that we got to go in and look through a book of ladies. It shows their pictures, a profile of what they want to be, what their education level is and their family history. A lot of them attach pictures of their kids too, if they have any. So, we narrowed it down to a few that had blonde hair and blue eyes like me, then from there, I asked the nurse about their past donations. Any that hadn't donated before, we eliminated, and then of those that had donated, I weeded it down to those that had the highest number of eggs as well as the ones that their people got prego from the donation. So then, we had it down to 2 donors. From there, I found out how much med they usually take, and picked one.....well, when they called her, found out she had just gotten prego herself! So, that left the other donor. So, she goes through the same thing that we have gone through in our fresh cycles, up to the egg retrieval, then she's done. I go through like I'm doing a FET (I guess, I haven't done one of those, but I had to do 14 days of Lupron to keep me from ovulating, and then I'm doing estrogen patches right now and then the day of her egg retrieval, I will start the progesterone shots and supositories). My nurse knows that I am so crazy that I need to know what is happening every minute of every day. If I could, I would go live with the donor....hehehehehe. So, my nurse is great and I told her she didn't have to call me with all of the updates, she could just email me. She will probably do a combination of calling me and emailing me sometimes. So, after our donor's appts to see how big her follies are after she starts her stimms, my nurse will let me know how many follies are playing ball and their sizes. She will also keep me posted on when they think they will trigger, etc. So then, on the day of the egg retrieval, my husband will take his sample into the clinic and be done. They will let us know right after the retrieval how many eggs were retrieved and then the next day on how many fertilized. It is just like our regular cycles, they are just telling me about it instead of us being there to experience it.
