Patricia-I feel a little funny about not doing the shots, but at the time of my first cycle they told me they were moving to the prometrium caps and away from the progesterone shots so if I became too sore they would have changed me. Everything worked out last time and I am hoping the minor changes will not effective me negatively. I did the progesterone for 10 weeks and as soon as I stopped it I started spotting off and on for 3 weeks. Went in 3 times for u/s and all was well. Just a little scary. So sorry you miscarried. I can only imagine how that was. That is a fear we all have that looms about. Burning up here on the lupron, but we also hit 95 with no A/C. Estrogen patches and blowing me up like a balloon. Joy, joy!

Kiwi-Glad to hear your doing better on Lupron. Interesting to hear you were in the Netherlands and the difference in cost. What took you there? I lived in Italy for 4 years in my previous marriage. My former spouse was Air Force and i taught school for the DODDS. We traveled through a few countries, but not near enough. Would love to go back some day.

Patricia- On that note when is a good time of year to visit Ireland? Always wanted to go there.

AFM- Just bloated and hot as stated above. Waiting til Thursday for next blood work. Enjoyed a great weekend with my oldest DD and put the other DD on a plane to cheer camp.

Woundercat- I'm excited like that, just taking it as it goes, gotta do what I gotta do. The other site have meds like Gonoal, Estrace, Doxy, Flagyl, and Crinone. They have all also done mock transfers too. I don't know anything about those meds and a mock transfer.

suzyq- DH gets all freaked out the same way. He works 3rds so now I just wait until he leaves and do the shot myself. Yuck thats the worst part of all this I hate the vaginal inserts. I just think it's gross afterwards ya know what I mean.

Ninde- Yeah I take meds at all times durring the day DH calles me a druggy I'm all the time popping something. I have a thyroid med everyother day before breakfast, Metformin with lunch, I was taking bcp with I got home from work and then Lupron before bed. Now on Fri I'll be adding a shot in the morning.

Kiwi11- The biggest thing that worries me is not knowing whats next or how I'm going to feel. I get a 2 week schedule at a time then an apt with the next 2 weeks schedule. They said this helps from becoming overwhelmed really fast.

I'm assuming that everyone is taking prenatal vitamins. What brand or kind are you taking? Is anyone taking the multi vitamin and the DHA/EPA one as well?

Hi there

Kiwi: do the clinics in the Netherlands have an age when they will put in more than one embryo?

Suzy: well it really depends on what you would like to do. I would say summer but to be honest our summers and yours are very different!! For example this June we had the highest rainfall since records began?! What are you interested in?

Tawny: we use a lot less different meds here but gonal is a stimming drug, flagyl is an antibiotic, crinone is a progesterone pessary (I've used it and didnt like it), estrace im presuming is something around estrogen, doxy is doxicillen - another antibiotic. A mock transfer is just where a small catheter is passed into the uterus - normally around baseline to see if there are any issues before they do the embryo transfer. Which board were you on?

Wonder at: how are you doing?

Afm: today is a holiday here so I didnt have any work but i got to the gym, bought jeans, made a low calorie chocolate cake and worked on my 'happiness ratio, workshop :-)

Patricia- Your summer sounds like Washington state. We too had record rain fall this June, second wettest in history. Not sure what I want to see yet, it will be a few years before we are able to travel again, but plan on it. We try to travel as much as possible. IVF has put a damper on that for the time being. We did take a cruise in May to get away before starting this cycle. FET is much cheaper than a fresh cycle.

Tawny- I do take a prenatal with DHE. Taking a store brand, but too will get a prescription if BFP. Don't worry about the mock transfer. Really not a big deal. Not looking forward to the inserts, but also did not like the intramuscular shots in the hip. All part of the process we must go through to get the great gift of parenthood. I was dreading taking the insert 3 x a day. I guess I should count myself very lucky after reading yours and others protocols of drugs.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Sure some of you were busy since you weren't on here. Way to go.

OMFG. Found my cat this morning lying in his own urine next to the litter boxes struggling to breathe. Spent the whole morning dealing with that, basically he's dying which I am having a hard time coming to terms with. Have had him for almost 13 years. Vet thinks it's cancer, but can't confirm without referring us to another clinic to get a digital x-ray so I still feel conflicted about making the decision to euthanize because I don't know *for sure* that it's cancer. Just got to work and realized that I didn't take my f*cking Lupron shot which I should have taken at 9:30. My sister is going to bring it to me, but that will take 30 minutes. I am freaking out. OMG what a hell of a horrible day.

OMG Wonder cat I'm so sorry for what you are having to deal with about your cat. That really has to be a day buster.

AFM- I took my Lupron last night and left the house to get subway. It's only a mile up the road but when I got there the biggest headache came on. I have no clue how I got home. But I got home ate the sub some how and went straight to bed I so didn't feel well it was awful. I don't know if it had anything to do with the shot or just coincidence but it sucked. Feeling a little blah today mostly bloated AF finally is kicking in.

Wondercat- That is terrible about your kitty. My heart goes out to you. I wish there were words to ease your pain. Don't worry about the shot. Once you take it all will be well there. I forgot one earlier this week and took it 3 hours late. RE said it would not hurt one time.

Tawny- Sounds like Lupron side effects to me. Glad you made it home safely.

Sounds like inspiring words are needed today. Know we are here for each other. I truly appreciate the words we share. Helps me know I am normal in this crazy world.

I would do it just for you
and share with you its beauty
on the days you're feeling blue
If I could build a mountain
you could call your very own
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me.
I cannot build a mountain
or catch a rainbow fair
but let me be what I know best
A friend that's always there.

wondercat: sorry to hear about your cat - I hope she is not suffering too much. With the shot I also would not worry - I also had little mishaps with my meds and it was all fine. You are lucky that you have a sister that brings it to you :-)

tawny: glad you made it home safely - I took Lupron now for 3 days only and it was terrible - I also had headaches which I usually dont have. Glad I am off.

AFM: had my US and bloodwork today. Everything is fine 8 on the right and 8 on the left and good size - just growing too fast and I am only on 150IU Gonal-F so I have to go in tomorrow again and see what happens.
This morning I got lucky when I had to drop off DS - he hates the early class but today his favority Alma was there - so no crying and screaming and kicking - hope she is there tomorrow too.
Do you also go to your appointments early? we have to go between 6:50 and 8:20 which is nice if you work.

Have a wonderful day

I love the support that I get here thank you all so much. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has certain side effects and so on.

I live like 45 min from my RE so I do have really early apt's as well we usually go in around 7:30 or so that way I'm not supper late for work. It makes for a lot of missed work but at least my boss is all ok with this.

kiwi11- Im glad they are keeping an eye on your growth can they back any meds off some to slow you down?

Thank you all for the words of support. I feel calmer now about whatever happens with my cat. Mostly I want answers before I just put him down. Some of his symptoms could also be indicative of a stroke, especially since my vet is not able to see anything on the x-ray. But I also don't want to be suffering. I know a lot of people take a different view of veterinary care, but I am not one to spend thousands of dollars just trying to prolong the life of a cat or dog by a few months. He has had a really good run with me since November 1999, in spite of peeing on a lot of my stuff through the years. :)

suzyq - Thanks for the poem and kind thoughts. I agree, it's good to know we aren't the only ones living in this crazy double-life kind of world.

Tawny - As you probably already saw, I have had a headache for pretty much the entire going on 4 weeks that I have been taking Lupron. I hate this stuff. It's totally evil, and your reaction was definitely not a coincidence. Thursday should be my last day, good lord I can't wait!!! That is so horrible how bad your headache was. I hope it doesn't keep up like that and your body gets used to it. Not sure how much mock transfers help, my first mock went great then for the transfer they ran into this kink in my cervix and it took about 5x longer than it should have...

kiwi11 - We do early scans too, I go in 7:15 Thursday. It would be better if I didn't live so far away and Boston wasn't absolute HELL to drive into at that time of day. Fortunately I managed to finagle my way into working from home that day without my boss knowing a thing since I have to do some online training anyway. And yes I have a fantastic amazing wonderful sister who sped to my house, then to my office and left it on my desk while I was in a meeting, then had to race off to pick up my niece at summer camp with probably about 5 minutes to spare. She is off buying wet kitten food for my cat right now. Basically: she rocks.

Ninde - I have to ask what the happiness ratio workshop is?? :)

In other "AFM" news that doesn't involve a dying cat, the birthday party for my Nana went great. She is 90 years old today! Funny story: Randomly at the nursing home yesterday my Nana says, "You're going to have another one." We all kind of froze. My mom asked her what she meant and she said, "Another baby. She's going to have another one." It gave me chills, just felt kind of prophetic coming from out of nowhere when she doesn't even know I'm trying right now.

My appointments are usually about 9:30 this time since I am not working and have DS to care for. Last cycle I scheduled anywhere from 7-8:30 to get to school on time.

AFM- Feel like a puffer fish today. Gas seems to be coming from everywhere. Had cross words with my DD who is visiting last night and hate that it happened. She leaves tonight for DC and then home to Provo and back to school. I know she misses her husband and I am short fused, but wish the whole mess never would have happened. I immediately apologized trying to rectify the situation. It does not matter who was right or wrong. She seems fine today and we are getting along. My DH says she will mature and understand me better some day. We have a good relationship, but sometimes she can be difficult to be around. I never want her to feel as though she cannot come to me I am all she has. My DH did adopt her when she chose at age 18, but not quite the same. Love her dearly no matter what.

Evening ladies :-)

Suzy: well if you dont expect blazing sunshine you will enjoy ireland I think!! My email is patriciaalle@gmail.com and whenever you come, even if its years from now, drop me a line :D And that's a lovely poem

Tawny: im on the zita west supplements. She is a so-called fertility guru. There are so many things in them I cant keep yp! Im also on 5000mg of folic. Are you drinking lots of water? Im not on luron but my clinic suggests three lies a day while down regging to help with the headaches.

Wonder: oh im so sorry, you must have got such a shock. Your poor cat. Its so hard to know what to do isnt it? Have you heard back from your vet? And ooh that's spooky, but great about your nan!!im going with prophecy :D The happiness ratio is a workshop im going to run in nov. Im a psychotherapist and I work alot as you would expect with pain and loss, etc. But I've also seen a lot of benefit in the positive psychology movement and basically in my workshop om taking the major research, summarising it and offering people ways of looking at their current happiness levels, how their style might be impacting on their happiness levels, what gets in the way (guilt, perfectionism and shame) and how to move towards living a more authentic wholehearted life which is mainly about really connecting with people, exploring our talents and fi ding meaning :D

Afm: baseline tomorrow - yay :D

Ninde

Kiwi: our scans are usually between 8am and 9am

Morning g ladies!!

Just out of clinic. Lining good. Ready to go tonight. Amazing though when u hear anything different. Same nurse as last time who always has problems finding my left ovary. I think I make her nervous. Well she said "I'll just measure those follicles, we don't want them over 10 when we are starting. I'm like "follicles, what follicles, I shouldn't have follicles!!" Apparently there are always follicles and its fine, mine are"playing ball"!!!
