Just popped on to check on you all and loopy and dagny on the other side!
GEm don't worry about the swelling etc - it's the weather. Put your feet up as much as possible and drink absolutely loads of water/squash etc - this really does the trick.
Feeling crap today - yikes - watch the space

Hi
Its quite on here is everyone busy working sorry if I'm rubbing it in that I've got 6weeks off work!!!
I've booked another appointment with the midwife on thursday as I'm feeling ok but need some reasurance as I keep thinking that its a long time til our 20 week scan I just want to hear our baby's heartbeat again and I'l be fine I have been thinking about getting a doppler dh keeps putting his head on my belly to see if he can hear teh heartbeat but its too early yet so I thought the midwife is there for a reason so I've made an appointment to see her as worrying will only make things worse,I also need to see her to ask about the infection they found and to let her know my ankles swelled up on friday I'm just listing the excuses why I need to see her when really I just want to hear the heartbeat,do you think she will mind that I'm wasting appointments?????
Hope everyone else is ok
Cant believe I'm 17 weeks tomorrow cant wait to finally feel my baby move when did you feel your girls move Tracey????
Love gemxxxxxxxx
Hi gem,
I am so happy to see you so far along, after a while the weeks seem to go faster, at least it was the case for me after about 12 weeks and after 20 it was even better! I can imagine you want to hear the baby, I also kept asking dp to try and hear the ehartbeat although we never managed! I also started feeling movement quite late, about 20 weeks, amybe I had it before but did not recognise it! but now I feel them every day it's pure joy!
hope you have a great appointment and that you get to feel the little one kick soon!
love,
juliana
Try not to worry - not sure about the doppler as I told Caz! up to you though! Me - well felt the girls around 16 wks initially but don;t worry - remember I had already been pg with Oliver not long before so a bit different - also with two bumbling around.
18-20 wks will be more the norm
Take care

hihi gem, dont worry u are not wasting appointments, if u read all the
bla they give u, they always say ring if u are unsure about anything.
I can totally understand about wanting to hear the heartbeat, its just
such a wonderful sound, like tracey im not too sure about getting a doppler,
with the baby moving around all the time it sometimes needs an
experience hand to locate the heartbeat, and u can imagine the state
u would be in if u couldnt locate it, besides it wont be long till u feel
the baby move, they do say for first timers, it can be nearly 20wks
till u feel movment, if i remember for me it was about 19wks, and
its a wonderful feeling, until they have a sleep and u dont feel them move for a little while.......then u start worrying again !!!!!
enjoy your 6wks off alison x
Thanks guys
I'm feeling alot better now I think its cos I've made the appointment I just dont want her thinking I'm wasting her time then I keep thinking sod it thats want they are paid for.

Thank you for setting up a new thread whilst Iwas away. It made it so much easier to catch up with everyone's news. Glad you are all ok.
Tracey - thanks for hanging on til I got back. You can have them now!!!!
Had a fantastic holiday. Was very hot so did nothing for 9 days but eat, sleep. read, sunbathe and ???. DP sprained his ankle on the second day so he was even slower than me! The hotel was fantastic, with a lovely spa. Have come back feeling huge from all the food.
I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet but I have bought some trousers in the next size up (it hurt). Having been in them before twice, I am in no rush to spend 6 months in them again. Although they are much trendier now than they were 6 years ago.
We told my children last night about the baby. They were really sweet and very excited. It made me cry. We are going to Switzerland on Thursday to tell DP's kids and then we have to tell our respective exes (not a conversation I am looking forward to).
Going to check out how the other side is doing now.
How lovely to see you back and thanks for bringing some lovely weather - off to the garden now.
You sound very chilled and I am thrilled as I know things were all so hard before you left. I am also delighted that your children are excited - how wonderful. Sure DP's will be the same - are they a bit older.
As for the exes - well they can lump it or like it quite frankly. Does your mother know yet?
I am off to hospital tomorrow but if the cervix still closed and all ok they will no doubt leave me - good grief!
Gem hope you found a wedding outfit!

Hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I am only just in 2nd trimester ( 13 weeks Saturday ).Have not been on for a while as we had a scare last week. Two weeks ago I started spotting which settled after a while , however last Tuesday morning, after a painful night Monday there was a lot more blood & was red & flowing ( tmi, i know). Anyway went straight to the hospital & turned out I had a haematoma outside the sac where baby is growing, which came away.
We had to wait an hour before we got a scan & it was the longest hour of my life. Anyway baby is fine waving at us & I cried so much out of sheer happiness.
They are keeping an close eye on us now but says everything is fine. This baby is so tough & strong & determined to hang in there. I still have some spotting but apart from that feel fine.
I go to see the consultant next week & another scan soon to check on this little fighter.
Hope all you other 2nd trimester ladies are well & that everything is going ok. I have bought some elasticated trousers as they are more comfortable & feeling more relaxed now that I am almost 13 weeks.

Hi mums to be
Cant believe we are all going to be mummies
Christina sorry to read about your scare but so glad its all ok,also welcome to the 2nd tri I'm 17weeks and 2 days and I cant believe how luckly I am its amazing how much you love this tiny baby and it hasnt even come yet.
Well that was a but soppy at this time in a morning
I went to the midwife yesterday and she was lovely she wasnt bothered that I'd made an appointment when I wasnt due to see her she said anytime I felt that I needed reasurance then to caome and see her,she phoned the hosp to make sure what my infection was that they had found and it was an e-coli infection which is dangerous n young children and elderly people but wasnt a problem for me I just needed some antibotics. Then I listen to my baby's heartbeat she couldnt find it at 1st which as put me off getting a doppler as if she didnt find it straight away then we would have no chance it was quite strange she couldnt find it at 1st and when she was moving the doppler around she found it on my left side where the night before I'd felt soem movements but I just thought it was nothing but now she found teh heartbeat where I'd felt the movement so maybe I did feel some thing the midwife said I should start feeling movements from now she also said the heartbeat was strong and everything was ok so I am one happy lady.
How is everyone else Bina and Caz are you two ok?
Fiona glad you have had a lovely holiday.
Love Gemxxxxx
Sorry to hear about the scare and thrilled that all ok - they are tough little blighters aren't they?
Gem - great to hear from you - sounds like a fab midwife - all mine have been great! I know what you mean about the doppler - I steered well clear as you know and advise others to do the same. You will sense quickening now - the baby flutters - very strange at first and then the movements become stronger so the doppler is a bit immaterial I feel as you can feel the baby. I leave it up to my midwife and if ever worried just ask her to put on the doppler. It is very exciting isn't it?

christina, what a worry for you last week, but looks like u are being
well looked after at the hospital. I keep saying this but us pregnant
ladies who have conceived thru ivf etc, it makes our babies extra
special to us as what we have had to go thru to get there, and sometimes
its hard to enjoy being pregnant as we are always constantly worried
about things, but look at u now pass that first hurdle of 12wks, so enjoy
showing off your increasing bump and it wont be long till your next
scan. take care alisonn
Hi everyone

Tracey how are you feeling are the girls ready to come yet?
When's everyone doing the nursery dh as got my Oct half term holiday off so thats when we are going to do teh nursery and order the cot and pram.at the moment we are looking at kitchen which is going to costs us about £6000 but we really need it doen before the baby coems and we have kept putting ot off as we didnt want to spend our savings on a kitchen while we were still having treatment so now we've got our miracle we need to start getting the house ready for our miracle.

17weeks 5 days
That is some kitchen - can't wait to see what pram etc you decide on - that shopping is fab and the decorating - oooo you have it all to come. Well they are inducing me wednesday am and the twins are lolling around with no intention it seems of popping out and I am 39 weeks this week. Just got back from walking the dog but still not prompted them to do anything.
Are the aquanatal near your work as they have to allow you time off to go. Just a thought!
Where are Bina, Caz and Fiona - all very quiet on here - honestly!
Take care

I havent gone to antenatal as they are only doing one session so I'm going swimming at 3 instead, cant believe you are still walking the dogs I'd rather eat chocolate instead
