Hi girls,

I've made it to 13 weeks! yippee. I was holding my breath to get past the 12 week point and I'm here. I have still been catching up on the gossip here though. I hope you are ok now Christina. You do have a little fighter there.

I have finally had my 12 week booking in session and scan. The scan was fab, it was good to see our little babies kicking away. One was upside down with hands over his face and the other was the right way up and he was swimming away, arms and legs kicking everywhere and two strong heartbeats. What a feeling. I call them 'he's' but we don't actually know what they are yet. Will find out at the 20 week detailed scan. Apparently I have a strep B infection in my urine so am now on penicilin. Has anyone else had this? Because of this I will need IV antibiotics during labour. Don't know what for though, my GP is next to useless when it comes to getting information.

My 20 month golden retriever chased a cat on Saturday night and broke her toe. The cat was on the front door step as I opened the door and I didn't have a strong hold on Sal so she escaped! My dh is away on business and i can't carry her upstairs so she is feeling very sore and sorry for herself and giving me bad looks because she likes to sleep on the floor at the foot of my bed. Hope that will teach her not to chase cats although I am sure it wont.

Glad to finally make it to the next trimester, trailing you guys behind but still following on strong! Have had the last week off work, lots of morning sickness and extreme fatigue. I never knew I could sleep four hours during the day and 10 hours during the night.

Hope everyone else is well and I wish those girls would get a move on tracey. I am on the end of my seat waiting. You will have to let me know how things go for the birth and how you cope when you get home. I'm really worried as I've heard you can go home from hospital the same day if it is a straight forward birth. I wanted to stay days so they could teach me how to feed/bath etc.... I haven't the faintest idea how to look after a baby, let alone 2!

Best wishes to all,
Shellie

HI - hooray !! Been having a shocker trying to get on!
Been reading you posts though!
Seems like everyone is doing okay -and that theres a good amount of choclate eating going on - thatnk goodness I'm not alone
Gem - I think you mentioned a doppler - i have one - its great now - but BE WANRED- you dont get a heart beat each time and you MUST NOT get freaked out if you dont. I of course got completely freaked when I couldn't find a heart beat - you do need to be a bit practiced at it.
Ours is pretty good - I know you have seen your midwife noe so you may ave changed your mind - but if you are still thinking of renting one -let me know -and I'll tell you where ours is from I think is fine.

No news from me - finally sorted myself out with hospital. Phew - now just waiting for 20 week scan - GULP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doctos gave us one at 16 weeks (last week) which was nice. Very simialr to 12 weeks but just a bit bigger!
Growing by the moment - wardrobe now a joke - and have tried lots of maternity websites and found it largely very depressing! Do they think that just because you're pregnant you TOTALLY change what you what to wear -I mean I havent worn leggings for nearly 20 years and I can tell you I aint starting now - It would NOT be a pretty site!!

What weight gain guidance have you guys been given - if any? My doctor doesnt even weigh me - which is quite nice actually!! But am kind of conscious that all the extra grub I'm shovelling on board maybe slightly excessive!!

Otherwise no news
Welcome to 2nd trimester new comers!

Tracey - when ARE you having those babies?! I cant WAIT for the details!!

Finally there is some action on this thread - been wondering where on earth you all are - and in my condition!

Shelly - congrats on getting past 12 weeks - fab news and they seem to be growing well. As for the dog - honestly! Mine is in season - her first and has been for 2.5 wks now and still bleeding - OMG great timing! Will let you know how all goes when i can - must say that am suprised about the letting you out the same day - never heard that with twins! They said normally 3 days - I don't want anymore than that certainly but many will let you stay in. Strep b hey? They give you antibitics during labour as can pass on to the babies - all very straight forward and means you will have no problem in future with them. I have a urine infection so am on antibiotics for that.

Caz - hello stranger - missed you. Glad all well - using the doppler again hey! Thought you could get away with it as not on here did you  Can't believe how time flying for you - clothes what a nightmare. I found George at ASDA and Next and DP and H&M the best and steered well clear of pg leggings - gross. Nikola lent me loads of clothes though and some great normal xl leggings from GAP. Mind you in pg I am sure the designers think you sprout longer legs and grow to 6'4! _ I mean honestly
Well off to be induced tomorrow am so all think of me stuck there for hours whilst these two loll around.
Love
Tracey

Hi all,

Glad you are all doing well. Shellie, nice to hear from you, not been on for a while. Things are fine with me. After our scare and spotting everything is fine. All pains gone, spotting has stopped & I have started to get some sleep , at last. More importantly baby is doing great.

On the subject of clothes I got really cool maternity jeans from additions catalogue, they got some reallly trendy maternity gear although Goerge ayt Asda is good too.
Tracey , just want to wish you all the luck in the world for Wednesday. will be thinking of you. :)

Take Care Ladies. :)

Hello everyone

Back from our long weekend in Switzerland. Very hot and 4 kids, 2 adults in a 2 bedroom flat. You need a sense of humour! Fortunately the kids get on very well. We told DP's kids, aged 6 and 4 about the baby. The little one didn't really understand but the eldest is very excited.

Also told both exes and a few mates at the cricket club last night. Feels like coming out!

Had an appointment with the midwife today. Everything OK and heard the heartbeat. Hurrah. 16 weeks tomorrow and have a scan at the hospital next Monday. Still resisting maternity clothes but the top tips on where to get them from are very useful.

Glad everyone is doing OK, despite the odd scare. Who isn't going to find out the sex? I didn't know for my first two but do with this one.

Tracey - wishing you the very best of luck for tommorrow. Will be thinking of you.

Hi everyone,
Tracey - so keeping my fingers crossed for you! We can't wait to hear from you! Hope it's all going well!
Gem - we're 18 weeks today, would you believe it! It's quite staggering!
Yorkshire was lovely! We picked a good week as the weather was better than normal!
My tum is getting bigger by the day (it seems); so might have to buy some more maternity clothes, following all the places where you guys have been shopping...still got morning sickness, so I seem to be one of those who it sticks with for quite a while...! Never mind, at least it means everything is in working order.
Has anyone experienced severe and frequent migraines? I seem to have one every other day and it stays with me for over 12 hours at a time. It's now really getting to me, because I'm too much of a wimp to take paracetamol, so there's hardly anything I can do. Went to the GP who took my blood pressure and said it was fine, so put it down as 'one of those things', but I could really do with a rememdy. I'm now doing a bit more exercise and eating more, which seems to help, so hope I don't have diabetes...!
Anyway, hope you're all doing as well as your posts sound! I think we're all lucky to be on this side and wish everyone the very best, esp. Tracey at the moment!
Love,

Hi all,

My, it is quiet on here. No news from Tracey yet, isn't it exciting, hope everything is going well for them. I am fine now that all my scares are over, actually enjoying my pregnancy, even my local butcher said that I had put weight on & was it because I had news.lol :) I am 14 weeks on Saturday but being normally skinny I have put weight on everywhere but all in a good cause. Since I got pregnant I have put 5lbs weight. Does anyone else find that they are filling out at this early stage?

Hope that you are all keeping happy & healthy, can't wait to hear Tracey's news. Take Care All & Mind those special bumps :)

Hi ladies!
Been away for a few days - glad to hear that you are all okay though
No news from me - 18 weeks today - CANNOT believe it! :-)

SOOOOO chuffed for TRacey - how amazing is that - I guess we wont hear from her for a bit though? I'll miss her!

When is everyones next scan? Getting a tad nervous about it now , as per!!

Had some maternity clothes delivered - Oh dear!!!!!!!!!!! They are HILARIOUS! Some okay though. I recommend Isabelle Oliver - not that cheap - but they look nice. Blooming marvellous I found a bit mixed- but a couple of good things - I think the sizes might come up quite generous though (unlike La redoute!), so be warned if like me you are ordering on line.

Anyway - take care all!

Hi everyone,
Have been too busy to log in, but pleased to see you're all doing well!
Gem - how was your scan? We're having ours at 21 weeks (hosp couldn't fit us in sooner), so I'm counting down like mad!!! I'm sure everything was fine with yours, so what can they see at this point?
Re: gaining weight, I've abandoned the scales and dread them when in the antenatal clinic. I put on loads in the beginning, it feels (3kgs or so) but seem to have slowed down, not that I seem to be able to expand much more; I'm usually size 8-10, so every extra pound shows up.....but it's all for the right reasons and I just stopped worrying about it. There's plenty of time afterwards to try and get rid of it all. But am of course very jealous of Tracey who just seemed to have left all her weight in hospital...!
Yes, we're going to find out the sex of the baby so we can talk about 'him' or 'her' rather than 'it'! Will let you know after the 25th August.
Also, have not actually felt a kick, but had these funny butterfly-type feelings in my tum; sort of a bubbling sensation...very exciting. I keep getting DH's hand to try and feel it, but it's too weak and too much inside me ie not an actual kick that he can't feel anything. Hopefully soon; the book says at between 20 and 24 weeks you can start feeling it, so not long to go.
Hope you're all having a good weekend!
Take care of those tums!
Lots of love,
bina

Hello ladies!
am having a nightmare getting on to the site - so sorry for being a bit rubbish

Well re clothes - ordered a load from Blooming marvellous - sending most back!!
Isabelle Oliver is pretty nice - not that cheap but for the odd thing is nice. Will defo try George and H&M after all your recommendations though

I seem to have EXPLODED over night! Tummy now HUGE! Quite pleased although - slthough it would appear I have put on 2 pounds in two days which surely can't be right! (yep I'm afraid I'm still doing the scales torture!)
Boobs just ginormous too - so not looking that slinky! O well!
Have put on 7 pounds in total -which I guess is about average, but seems a huge amount. I have friends who put on only a stone during their whole pregnancy and some who put on 4 - and they all seem to somehow get their figures back (havent figured out their secret yet - although Tracey defo seems to have it!). None of it matter really - its just my vanity

No kicks -starting to be quite keen to feel them - I think I too have felt bubbles - but could easily be mistaking for something else. 20 week scan booked for week on tuesday - majorly counting down! :? and quite scared

Anyway- not much other news - keep getting a bit stressed about amount to do - we have NOTHING! Need to decorate the house and generally sort our lives out - I think we'll start doing stuff after 5 month scan - all being well.

can't remember if I have already asked - but do any of you guys have cats - and if so - has anyone said anything about what you need to do when baby arrives? Bit worried mine will sit on its head - they have been rather the centre of attention over the last 3 years!!!!!

Anyway, hope alls well
