Hi Mandy
I feel like I'm only just starting this rollercoaster, even though we've been TTC for nearly 7 years. We were determined to let nature take it's course for the first couple of years, then when it didn't happen, the Dr found that I possibly don't ovulate regularly (progesterone level tests only at required level, indicating ovulation, when on double dose of clomid) and DH's sperm count was between 1mill and 12mill, dropping back to 6mill. We still thought that we might be able to conceive naturally, but that it might just take a bit longer. We've been coasting along trying not to think about it, until I by chance saw a copy of the letter in my file at the Dr's from the fertility specialist, saying that my only hope of conceiving was through IVF, as my DH's sperm were mainly abnormal. Nice to be told! As DH is Italian, we got a second opinion out there whilst we were on holiday in May, and they basically said why have you waited so long. We said because of money (been quoted £4-£4.5K with ICSI), and they nearly fell off their chair when we said how much it cost in the UK. They do the whole process including ICSI for 2.5 Euro (£1800). So, I bit the bullet and decided to do it there! ........ I've done my first 'down regging' injection today (felt a bit weird ever since, but had good needle control at the time

), and will start my Gonal F on day 2 of next AF. We're then flying to Italy on 2nd Sept to start with the scans and whole caboodle (trying not to think of big needles for EC

)! Trying not to get my hopes up too much, but it's flipping scary! I'm flying back from Italy on the 24th, so by then you should have a +ve result, and it'll be my turn for the 2ww! ARRGGHHHH!!!!!
xx
