Fiona you should start shopping, it is a great feeling and it sort of makes it a bit more real. We went on a super shopping spree over the weekend. £2000 gone in a huff of smoke!! We have our two cot beds, mattresses and bedding, baby car seats, boucers, travel cot and mattress, change table, breast pump and bottles, a few clothes to start with. It all adds up when you need two of everything! I am feeling a bit more relieved that I am getting organised, although I am only 23 weeks! The nursery is painted, DH still needs to put up the whinnie the pooh border and finish some shelving.
When you don't have anything to borrow you realise how much stuff you need to get set up for these babies. I thought going through the ivf was an expense!! I am sure it will all be worth it when I get to hold my wee babies.
Midwife comes tomorrow so I am hoping to hear the heartbeats again. Am very big and uncomfortable now. Cannot sit at the dining table without my legs open because my bump is huge. I am as big as a 9 month mother having one baby and I have 3 months to go!!
Anyway glad everyone else is doing well and get shopping girls!!

Hi girls,
Gem - glad to hear everything is going well Isn't it amazing we've made it this far?
Anyway, I've got a doc's appointment on Tuesday (normal antenatal check-up), but so far she's never actually felt my bump ie checking where the baby lies, etc. Should I ask her to do that? Also, my blood test isn't due until week 30, so hope this is normal? Does someone else know?
What's everyone's weight like? I've gained tons, it feels...actually about 13 kgs (1.5 stone), so according to my 'pregnancy bible' I can only gain another 3kg (0.5 stone) until I give birth, which doesn't seem much, considering the third trimester is the 'heavy' one... I haven't even gone too mad on the chocolate or other sweets, so am a bit concerned - but on the other hand I don't want to starve my little girl either.
Travey, where are you? Could do with your words of wisdom!
Overall, all is fine though - doing the nursery this weekend - new kitchen worktops/sink/tap have arrived, so now need to get someone to fit it all...also getting some cupboards fitted in the dining room, so the house is going to be a mess for ages - as long as it's all done by Xmas I don't care...!
Hope everyone's doing well.

Hi all!
Not much news from me -glad to hear you are all doing so well
Bina -welldone you on getting organised with the nursery - am useless and have done NOTHING yet- HEEELLLLPPPP!!
Going shopping this week and am determined to get it ALL done - HA HA!!
re the weight thing -dont even GO there!! I suddenlt feel really heavy and cunmbersome! Am now 10stone 3 ish - and rising quickly!!. Was just under 9 before I was pregnant. Seems like about 2 stone is the norm amongst my mates. And I have to say they all look amazing afterwards (Although it takes a while I think!). Mad aint it?!
How much kicking is everyone feeling - I was expecting MUCH more at this stage than I'm getting - I can go hours without feeling anything at all - and then get a few. But its certainly nothing very hard - haven't had the rib cage kicks that people seem to talk about. Wish I could feel more. Seems like I feel it a bit more when I lie down quietly - but even then counting to 10 kicks can take ages. Doctor seemed relaxed about it - how much is everyone else feeling though. I'm 27 week and 4 days.
Have I already asked this? What is everyone putting there little ones in to sleep for the first few weeks? Are moses baskets the norm? Did anyone go straight to cots? I think I have already asked this - MIND has GONE !!!!!
Hi guys
I'm feeling huge now I've put on 2 stone but dont really care I've been on diets for years so I'm having 9months off and will worry about it after the baby is here, its harder to eat heathly when I've got no cooker and a building site as a kitchen but teh fitter starts tomorrow so it will start to look like a kitchen,we are doing the nursery in half term we are doing it millie and boris from mamas and papas we are going to a big mamas and papas shop in half term to get the bedding etc....
I'm getting the moses basket and rocker from babies r us,Caz peanut is going to sleep in teh moses basket but havent decided if I'm going to put the moses basket in the cot or have peanut in our bedroom we live in a bungalow and peanuts room is next to ours space in our bedroom will be tight if we have the moses basket in ours and I dont know if I will sleep if peanut is next to me I will be awake all night looking at our miracle I iwll have to see how I feel when peanut is here.
Is anyone else on iron tablets? got teh side effects all ready
Hope you are all having a good weekend

Glad to see we are all doing so well. I too have put on loadsa weight, I am just over 11 stone ( normally nine ) but like the rest of you am not bothered, wearing size 16 -18 now for comfort and feeling really large & loving every minute of it. A lot of people have asked if I am having twins cos I am so large but there is only one, can't believe we have 3 months to go!
I am having a lot of problems with my left hip & back especially at night time, just aching and can't sleep, takes ages for me to turn over.
I too have opted for the moses basket as it seems a lot cosier for a little baby rather than a large cot for now. We bought ours last week & loadsa baby clothes , necessities really.
The kicks are really strong now & certain things get the baby going. He/she loves all kinds of music & a game I play on the computer has some nice sound effects and baby absolutley loves that. If I don't feel a kick for a while I put the game on & sure enough the kicking starts. I
think it is amazing.
By the way when do we start the 3rd trimester, is it 27 weeks? Hope you all had a nice weekend. Take care of yourselves and those precious bumps!

Hello only me - sorry but DH had a week off so been out and about and staying with mum and dad in the peak district and alice got a cold off my mum and then emily so sniffles all round as I got it too!
I am so excited reading all your news about nurseries and shopping - I remember it all so well and do miss all that - make the most of it as soon you will have your babies! Don't worry about the weight thing Bina - I only put on 2 stone for my entire pg for both my two and look at their weights. It was very different to when I was pg with Oliver and I put on 2 stone in the first 20 wks but then did not have Gabbie the dog! I ate whatever and whenever and so much choccie............ Babies take what they want off you when they want and leave you the rest if there is any. People stop this weighing lark now so you only get size checks by your midwife not weight as actually means sod all. I did not motor on the weight in the last trimester and thought I would. Guess they just took more off me.
As for moses baskets - well they slept in them each night until 9 wks - they are 10.4 now and during the day slept in their cots to get them used to it so never had a problem putting them over. they do look small in them but just pop them down the foot end in feet to foot and fine. they are now in sleeping bags - a fabbie idea I can tell you and does away with worry of if they will snuggle down and suffocate under sheets. The moses baskets were inour room by the way but easier for the middle of the night feed. Now they are in their cots all the time. Different people do different things but this worked for us.
As for feeling your bump Bina - just ask her to do it. Mine always did but then with twins she liked to know where they were to get a heart beat heard.
Keep on shopping and firing the questions. Off for lunch now

ttc 9 years. 38 yrs old, dh 8 hrs younger!First IVF in Aug 2002 and had ectopic.2nd IVF neg.3rd FET and negative.4th FET and positive but sadly lost our little boy at 20 weeks.5th FET and Alice Isobel and Emily Charlotte born 5th Aug 2004!
Hi bumps,
Tracey - thanks so much for your never-ending advice!
Well, if 2 stone is the norm in weight gain I've still got half a stone to go - even though it feels as if I'm going to put that on just thinking about food... I actually asked the doc about weight and she confirmed that they ignore the mothers' weight because it gets them too anxious and nervous (doctor's words precisely). So just got to learn to not worry about it, even though don't know how to make thunder thighs disappear...
Overall antenatal check-up went well. Heard our little girl's heartbeat really well (141 beats per minute); this time she was lying the right way, ie head down. Doc also measured my tum, which was spot on apparently at 29 cm for 28 weeks of pregnancy. So in the end feel quite reassured really.
Only thing is the sleeping, still keep waking up around 4am-ish (actually, am writing this at 3.30am) an can't go to sleep for hours. Then of course wake up exhausted. Doc didn't seem to know about that one and keeps putting it down to our girl kicking, which is not the case as she seems to be kicking when I'm awake and asleep when I lie down (good girl, eh?). Tried the lavender stuff, which gets me to sleep OK, but doesn't seem to work all the time. The other thing is that I've developed eczema on my neck - doc thinks it's pg related as you pick up allergies easier when pg, so got some cream for it, which doesn't seem to do an awful lot. So looks like I'll be running around with a wannabe lovebite until giving birth. But there you go, I'm sure there are worse things.
On top of that have done my neck in and can't move around easily, walking like Quasimodo - this is actually the most painful bit, so hope it'll sort itself out (went to chiropractor who helped a bit, but couldn't do her usual, because can't lie on my front properly).
Anyway, sorry to be rambling on about my ailments - sounding like an old woman already...!
Caz - I can feel kicks most during the day and on/off, not all in one big go. My doc said that a cold drink gets them going and it's true! So if you want to just check, have a cold glass of water and that will set the kicks off - I try not to do it that often, because it doesn't seem too fair on the little one...
Hope you're all well - Gem: how's the kitchen going? Must be lovely to get it all done in time!
Lots of love to you and bumps.

2nd IVF Jan06 +ve; EDD 30th October 2006 - feeling sooo lucky and praying for a healthy delivery!!!
Haven't been able to post for a while as had DP's children here all last week and now mine are on half term. Having the 4 together really wore me out this time. I felt like I was constantly skivvying. Lost it in a big way on the Sunday as so tired - has anyone else had violent mood swings?
My advice on the weighing front is DON'T. So long as you don't go completely mad with the choccie, it will all come off after the babes are born (although your shape is never quite the same after the first, but that's another story!!!!!) I couldn't tell you how much weight I put on when I was pregnant with Jake and Gabriela and it's the same with this one. There's enough to think about and all the books are very unhelpful. Every person and every pregnancy is different, so there are no hard and fast rules.
Still haven't bought anything but that's due to lack of time. I have been looking though and have promised myself it will all be done by the end of November. Ha! As I have nothing left from last time, I think I will try and borrow a moses basket or crib or buy one second-hand as they are in them for such a short time.
When I suggested to DP that we buy one in case we do this again, he looked horrified. He said he would love another baby but wasn't sure he could go through another pregnancy with me. Charming!!! I haven't been that grumpy!
We are frantically house hunting as we are in a rented house at the moment but can't find anything that suits us that we can afford. It's very depressing. Off to the midwife tomorrow for a 28 week check. This baby never seems to sleep.
