So sorry to hear that you are not well. Supposedly our immune systems are somewhat compromised during pregnancy. To me it seems as though it should be the opposite, shouldn't it?
I need a flu shot and am very afraid there will be none left by the time I reach the second trimester (since the doctor told me to wait). Oh well, not much I can do about that.
Hope you are up and around soon. And thanks for the swimsuit offer - I will definately take you up if I don't find one by December.

I also wanted to mention babycentre... it's great... fantastic to see how your baby is developing. A friend also recommended 'what to expect when you're expecting' as an essential book to have!
In answer to your question... Halloween, in England you do have quite a few kids trick or treating (not as much as in the States, though). In Germany, my doorbell has NEVER been rung (well, in the 4 Halloweens we've been here for!). In Bahrain and Dubai, we did used to get dressed up and go trick or treating too... not sure about the rest of the world, though!!!

I went to the doctor today and she reckons I have excema... which I have NEVER had before in my life.... somehow I am getting the feeling that pregnancy doesn't agree with me... but my little 'Bernie' is still busy moving around and reassuring me that 'he' is going to be my little easter bunny next year!!

I haven't worked out in 2 weeks because of this rotten cold, hopefully by the end of this week I can get back on track.

I will continue to slather myself in the stuff as well... hopefully it will help. I don't want to put it on my face though, as I will probably end up coming out in even more spots!! I haven't done ANY exercise except walking from A to B, since I found out I was pregnant (hope that makes you feel better for your 2 weeks abstinence!!)... I have been busy studying for exams, but now they're over, I really ought to start doing something. I bought a pilates for pregnancy DVD a while ago, and want to start that, also to go for some long walks and swimming. Can anyone recommend any other good sporting activities?

How is your cold? I have gotten a terrible one in Philadelphia, then had to fly back all miserable. I've stayed home today, but admit I am not any better.
We had our 11 1/2 week ultrasound today. It is amazing! The twins are growing well. They were rolling around and kicking and waving - quite a show! I just hope they are not as uncomfy as I am from this cold.
I have not exercised in a year, due to the treatments, being pregnant and just plain being fed up with it all. I used to run, lift weights, kickbox, and various other things for an hour a day. I hope to get into the prenatal yoga in November, when I have a bit more time.

Nice to hear your scan went well, mine is next Wednesday 27th which is one day off twelve weeks the best thing is it's half term here so Jessie can come with which will be wonderful.

I went out last night with my friends very strange sober experience on blackcurrant and soda I lasted til 11pm Mum was babysitting as Paul working in London so by the time I had seen her off home in cab it was midnight which is possibley the latest I have managed to stay awake in a long time old fossil!

My sister in law whose friend had a baby recently said the later scans are incredible now much more detailed than ten years ago I can't wait tho still as nervous as hell. I hope your bumps are all growing nicely! I had my amnio yesterday, and will hit the 24 hour-you're-sort-of-out-of-the-woods marker at 11:30 this morning. I guess if something is going to happen (miscarriage) it will happen 99% of the time in the first 24 hours. I actually see my regular ob today too, so that will be reassuring.
All in all though, the amnio was not painful. The POI shots were much more painful than the amnio. The positive thing was we got a great ultrasound and got to see the baby wiggling around and stretching it's legs and moving it's arms about. It was a very tenuous moment after the ultrasound and before the amnio because I wanted to run out of the room after I saw that little baby moving around. I didn't think I was actually going to go through with it. The clinic was great, and amnio's are all they do every 1.5 hours of every day. Their rates for miscarriage were more like 1 in 800. We'll know the sex and the chromsomal tendencies by the end of next week.
I think it's weird the Dr.s all wanted me to have this testing done just because I turned 35 this year, had ICSI, and am adopted (so I have no access to family DNA history). I don't know if I'd do it again just based upon the anxiety...not even the procedure. All I could think about last night was what an idiot I am after going through this hell to get pregnant and then putting it slightly at risk because I'm 35?

My neighbor had an amnio on her twinies...and has two beautiful baby boys. She also had one with her daughter!

I had my 16 week check-up this week... and as they were taking so long in the lab to return the blood results (the fact that they do it immediately here in Germany is AMAZING in itself, for those of you who know the NHS!!!)... he asked if I wanted to have a quick ultrasound (he wasn't going to do one). He said that we should be able to tell by the next ultra-sound if we're having a little prince or little princess... I'm sooooo excited!!

I visited your ultrasound pics..isn't it amazing. I have some as well, and in one the baby is sucking it's thumb already! I get the results from the amnio the end of next week. I'm really excited to find out what the sex is. Everybody keeps telling me I'm having a boy. I don't have a feeling for it yet. The first time around I told everyone I was having a girl, and I did! So I'll wait to have a dream or something. I've read that pregnant moms' dreams that indicate the sex of the baby are over 70% true. I did have one dream that I had a baby boy, but really don't have a feeling one way or the other while awake.
I'm starting to really look pregnant rather than just fat, which is nice!
I will still have a level II ultrasound around 20-22 weeks, so that will be fun to see everything again. During the amnio ultrasound the baby totally stretched out it's legs and I could feel it pushing inside, it had very LONG legs. I'm 5'9 and my husband is 6'4...so those long legs were fun to see.
I'm going every 4 weeks to the Dr. as well now, isn't that nice? It's also kind of weird going so long between appointments when we used to go every other day for blood work!

i have my 12 week scan next friday the 5th when i will be 12+4 weeks preggie my bumbs is getting much bigger loads of my clothes no longer fit i am still hiding it from the outside world (daughters school and stuff)
although after the scan i shall being showing it off with pride my daughter cant wait to tell everyone.

Paige, can I have some of your long legs please!?!? DH and I keep saying what we want our little miracle to have off each of us... it's so exciting. I also really want to know the sex. Have you been discussing names yet? I would love to actually remember my dreams, so maybe I would know whether it was a boy or girl... does it count that my mum has dreamt that we're having a little girl????
