HI Guys:
Tanya: You're winning the bump contest right now! THough I think you and I are a couple weeks ahead of Alicia. Seriously I feel like I'm wearing a shelf, so on you two petite ladies it must really look like a shelf

I love that!
The interesting thing about the whole gestational diabetes thing, is that according to the National Diabetic Institute and the American Diabetes Association....my results passed the 4 blood draw benchmarks. My hospital uses a more strict scale. You have to fail 2 out of the 4 draws...and with the associations I mentioned above, I passed all 4 blood draws. So I guess I am a very borderline case. THis week is a test to see if you can manage your levels with diet alone or you need to be put on Insulin. You prick your finger when you get up & 2 hrs after each meal. They give you a specific amt of carbs you need to eat (and not exceed) each meal. So I'm following the diet pretty well and you're supposed to stay at 120 or under for your goal.
I'm not even remotely close to 120, always way under. So I decided to do my own test. Just how much would put me over 120. So, we're at a friends house and ordered pizza for dinner, according to the plan I should have 45 carbs for dinner. Which equal about 1.5 pieces of pizza. So I eat 4 pieces of pizza, 2 handfuls of Cheetos, 1 handful of Sunchips, and a huge slice of Peanutbutter/Chocolate cream pie. It was well over 200 grams of carbs....over 4xs the amt I'm supposed to have. I test 2 hrs later and my blood sugar was 124. So it took that much garbage to put me over the limit. I'm presonally thinking....I dont' have a problem. We'll see what my Dr. Says when I see her on the 15th.
I should also have my C-Section date on the 15th.....yippee!
My Mom paints murals, so she's coming to do the nursery in early March. I think I'm going to have her do an oversized fower garden with butterlies and ladybugs, etc. I have bought a few new things, but I have kept most of everything from my 5 yr old. I was washing everything that I brought up from the basement that was stored in Rubbermaid tubs and it's all so tiny and cute. The little shoes and sandals, I was smiling the whole time.
Congratulations Tanya on being able to stay home in 2 weeks! I do real estate, so I work out of my house, and it's not really full time...especially in the Winter!
