About to go off for my scan and bloodtest to see how the follicles are doing. I was up all night worrying that they won't find anything - and did not sleep at all. :(

This morning I feel like O is right around the corner..my temps took a dip and my cervix fluid is like egg white. Is this normal to have O like symptoms? I have been continuing to sniff....I guess I will know in about 2 hours.

Will give up all an update.

Hi Girls - well not as plentiful as one would like...5 (Debra - we are in the same boat). 4 on the left, only 1 on the right. Looks like my dose of Purogen was too low.

Also my LH is 'under pressure' to surge...which could jeopardize this entire cycle. I know my body is telling me something because it sure feels like O is just minutes away. (I can pinpont my O...my DR is always amazed).

I will know more at 1:00 this afternoon, when the bloodtests come back and we can see the level of LH.

I am not giving up hope - but it sure is tough. (I am fighting back the tears at my desk  )

My clinic told me that 7-8 is the average so you aren't too far away, I know it's hard (this is all so hard!) but look at it like the ones you have got are the best and any others would just get in the way!!

Take care, sending you a big hug

Hey Traci

I know it is easy to say but try to stay positive until you know for sure. This whole process is wretched. You can go from an enormous high because everthing is moving along swimmingly to the lowest of lows because your body isn't complying. I hope you get great news this afternoon.....I will keep my 'thumbs pressed' for you.

Sending you lots hugs.....and if you feel like a good cry, do it! It is great stress relief.

Cheers

Traci....I know we feel the same slight disappointment with our 5 little follies but there many who can't/don't get to this stage so we must remain positive and excited about next week. My blood was taken yesterday too but they didn't offer to call, I wonder if I should call them? I guess they'd be quite to call if there was a problem.

Five is fine and there may be one or two more by EC next week - that's quite normal. How many more Puregon shots will you have? did they up your dose for the final days (I had to do this my first fresh cycle - I have a daughter to prove it can work). We've only just begun so will have to be strong together.

Let us know when you've got the LH results.

I totally agree with Heather, if you find a quiet corner to have a good cry -get it out and feel slightly refreshed. I'm not focused at all right now. After the scan yesterday I dashed off to start a new course, I drove 45km only to discover I had the wrong date. How good an impression have I set? they must think I'm daft. Never mind :)

Big hugs
Debra.

Thanks guys for all the kind words...and I am trying to be positive :D Debra you are right - I am lucky and goods things can still happen. The Dr said that upping the dose would not help now but I should continue with Purogen for next 2 days and on Sunday AM we will see what has happened.

I just called the doctor - and appears blood (LH) is ok...but I need to go back in on Sunday. I had plans to go to Vienna in a couple of hours to be with DH, but now he has to drive home to Munich. Atleast we will be together and the sun is still shining 8)

My mind is definitely not at work - and I have been telling everyone I have allergies (red eyes)...so I am going home now to walk my dogs and get fresh air.

Again - thank you guys! (I do have a lot to be grateful for)

Have a great weekend!!!!

I know you've heard it hundreds of times before - but always hold on to the fact that it only takes one :!:

Look after yourself and try to stay positive.

Good luck this afternoon - fingers crossed for the right result.

Still no new about my lone little embie, but of course it's only 10 AM. You must be so excited to get started, Sandy! I forget, how many times have you already tried IVF? This will hopefully be the last time–we’ll all send happy thoughts your way. Debra and Tracii, hang in there during these tense few days. Five mature eggs actually sounds really GOOD, so think positively! Tracii, it sounds like it’s been a horrible few days, especially with the ovulation scare, but the good news is that it didn’t happen and you’re still on. Is Sunday EC day, or just a blood check and ultrasound? Wow, things are finally happening with this group–lots of drama, but thankfully lots of support (and even more hopefully lots of success :) ).

By the way, Debra, the reason for my early appointment is that my doctor has two offices. I like to go the “second” office in downtown Chicago, which though closer is not as well staffed. They do all routine lab, ultrasound, and surgical procedures early in the morning, so all of my IVF appointments have been at this time. If I wanted to drive an hour each way I could have had more normal hours. But actually, come to think of it, when I went through an IUI in Pennsylvania last October, all the monitoring appointments were also very early--they might do this to accomodate working women. Anyways, my sleep cycle has been turned upside down since I’m naturally nocturnal and without the pressure of work (I’m on a sabbatical), I had been going to bed very late before this got started. Good prep, I guess, for a baby, which I’ve heard means lots of sleep deprivation.
Age: 40 me // 52 he
IUI in Oct '04--failed
IVF in Feb '05--failed
IVF with donor egg in July '05--SUCCESS!!!!!!!

Tracii - I can ony reitterate what everyone else has already said...Try to keep +ve for a couple more days. Things can really change, and even if they don't - you have 5 follies. Plenty !

I don't mean to be dippy, but what is the "O" that you're refering to ? Ovulation ?

Traci and Debra,
You have reminded me that when they checked me 48 hours before EC, they only counted 7 + 2 little ones. But by EC, I had 12!!! Things really can change in a small amount of time. Plus, like everyone says, 5 isn't much below normal. :D
I will be surprised if you don't have more follies by EC - both of you.
PMA!

Hi Everyone

What lovely people you all are. This is a good place for us to get much needed support and encouragement. I've read so many times that this is a rollercoaster ride and reading all the posts I can see this is true. For those of you who are experiencing a bit of a dip let's hope you're soon climbing back up to the top.

Went for first blood test and all ok, starting clomid tomorrow, back for blood test Monday.

I haven't heard of any successes from iui yet so I'm really trying to treat this as a practice for ivf. That way I don't get my hopes up too much and I won't fall from a great height if it doesn't work out. (Well that's the story I'm telling myself anyway!!)

Good luck finding your bundles of joy at the end of your rainbow.
love Lisa xxxxxxxxxxxxx
