Ellie

Just in case you look here again!!

I have been told that I will possibly have steroids and maybe viagra   :? - is this right or did I hear incorrectly. I know what viagra does for men, but what can it do for women :?:

Maybe I heard wrong :?

Little P

Good luck with your viagra  !!

I know it's hard when something is wrong but I hope you have found some reassurance that things can progress now, sometimes think it's worse not knowing why something isn't working!

Does that make sense?!?!

Absolutely Joanne

When the hospital gave us the results, although I was upset there was a big part of me that breathed a huge sigh of relief that we now had a reason for things going wrong.

First time I've ever been relieved over bad news

Now it's time to look forward and focus on finding my bundle of joy at the end of the rainbow :D

Hi LittleP - busy little thread here

I've been reading about Viagra being used to stimulate the blood supply to the womby bits - been tried for ladies doing IVF who have problems getting a good endo (what I am worried about   ). You need (apparently) an endo of at least 9mm for implantation - That's why I was so    when Jude had her 13mm super endo - wow!!! so Viagra seems to help this. Junior Asprin is used sometimes for the same thing, but the viagra fans claim it's better...any one out there tried it ?
So who knows, I'll probably end up popping Viagra too

why don't we try starting a thread????

Hey Big J

How you doing?

Is it tomorrow you go - are you excited, anxious, worried? You know where we are so keep in touch.

I thinking starting a Viagra thread would be good - we could compare side-effects  I wonder what it does to a women's ...... :? (sorry)

I can't believe your appointment is only a couple of days away, it's come round so quickly hasn't it. Have you finished all your packing?

All these treatments above relate to immunological issues.
The guy who knows everything there is to know about this is Dr Beer who has clinics in California and London - he has spent his life researching these issues.
This is the link for his site :

Have a good look and you will learn so much!
There's also a great support group at :

(you have to become a member but it's free)

To Little P, hope the IVIg goes OK tomorrow,

Although I don't know when IVIg is yet, think it will be after hysteroscopy so during May sometime.

hi Little P
Only just got back onto the site so didnt see your message before. I havent had the viagra so cant help much there other than I know it thickens the womb lining. I have had the steroids though which I think help the killer cells and the aspirin which improves blood supply. With all this medication we have to take it is a wonder anyone falls pregnant naturally don't you think?Thank goodness it is available to give us a chance. As you say my previous sucess should give us all hope that it can work
I have my hysteroscopy booked for may 20th. Do you know when yours is?
Have you had one before? I had one ages ago but cant remember much about it .

Hi Ellie

Don't think I will be needing the Viagra - well according to them today, DH is breathing huge sighs of relief as you can imagine

My Hysteroscopy is set for 7 May. At the moment it seems like a lifetime away, but I guess its only 4 weeks :!:

I had one about 2 years ago - it was done under General so can't remember a thing - apparently the ARGC do theirs under Local Sedation, fingers crossed I don't feel anything because I am slightly squeamish :? :!:

My scan went well today, post-ovulation to check everything went according to plan and apparently it did - just waiting for the blood test results to confirm :!: Looks like I should start my down-regging at the end of May :D

Have you got a schedule yet?

Hi Little P

Sorry to sound so stupid, but how have your doctors tested and seen you need these drugs? 4.5 years and other than telling me I have PCO, they have done nothing else. I am seeing doccy tomorrow with real fight in my veins..... other than telling me to relax for 6 months while on Chlomid, they just won't f*** help! How do you test for this immunology thingy? :? They have said they don't want to do a hesteroscopy because apparently my insides are already a little misshapen and will be scared (from an op I had when I was 18).

Any ammo for my war tomorrow  will be great. Thanks.

Tessa

:? Hi there. The Auto Immune Screening blood test (that's it name, grand hey!!) is when you have several vials of blood sent to Chicago for testing.

The first thing you need to be aware of it is not cheap, approx £800.00, but for me because they found out the problem it was definitely money well spent.

I have a history of excellent embryos and no worries with partner's contribution :? but when the embryos were put back either nothing, or +ve but early m/c

This test checks for several different things, amongst them something called Natural Killer Cells (NK) which, if you have too high a level, treat the embryo as a foreign body and kill it off. :x

I don't know what your history is so don't know if this is relevant to you. I had no other obvious issues :!:

Hope this helps - anything else you want to know, just ask

Thanks for that Little P.
I have often thought that might be the problem because I have diabetes which is due to an over active immune system (quite common for juvienile diabetes)???? You obviously are having your treatment privately, my treatment was private last year, but since it was the NHS that got me back on my feet after the OHS, I have stayed with the Dr who helped me. I reckon I can't ask for the test to be done...... but I suppose I can ask for it privately after he's done some other tests... don't care what it is...... just give me some answers!
Cheers for that
