Hi Ladies,

Thanks to all of you who posted congratulatory wishes. I was very touched.

Congrats to Alicia, Cate and Angela. Alicia - thanks for the picture of the boys. They are beautiful, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that.

We have decided to call our little boy Joe (we think, although we might change it yet. Being very indecisive at the moment.)

Am still recovering from the birth. Had a forceps delivery so a few stitches down there to heal. Worst of all though, I have the haemorrhoids from hell. I'm 10 days post natal and still haven't been able to sit down yet. DH has been absolutely brilliant, through labour and since.

Baby Joe is very good. Think he is giving us a break at the moment. I've probably had more uncontrollable crying episodes than he has. So reassuring to know that I'm not the only one who has been a bit tearful.

Still can't believe he is here. I feel so very very lucky. There are many times when I never thought I would even make it to the "Pregnant after treatment" board let alone be posting a message that our baby is here. As for the "parent after treatment" board - that didn't even exist when I found this site. Getting a bit emotional again now. He is so precious.

Tanya - how are you doing? Any news yet?

Barny

Congratulations to all of you... I can't believe that you've actually been able to get to a computer!!

Anna Maria Tomlinson was born on 28th April (13 days overdue) at 19:38 weighing a healthy 3580grams after 3 days of labour!!! In the end I begged for an epidural- but she still had to be suctioned out. She suffered from jaundice the first few days of her life, but is really making up for it now! I am also suffering from sleep deprivation and uncontrollable tearful outbursts... but she's made it all so worthwhile- www.boycieandmarlene.com/bundle

She's reached her birthweight after 8 days- and happily spends hours sucking at my (very) raw breasts!! The weight seems to be dropping off me, and I only have about 3,5kg to lose.

'I hope you're all coping well and enjoying the time with your little bundles!
Keep in touch,

Many Congratulations Tanya!
3 days of labour!!! Blimey! You poor thing.
Thanks for sharing the picture. She looks lovely.

Glad your weight is dropping off. I feel like I've wasted away since the birth. Obviously I haven't (as DH keeps reminding me) but after carrying the baby for so long I now feel really light. The scales tell a different story though.

Don't feel like I'm coping very well yet. DH is back to work tomorrow so I'll have to see how I get on on my own.

Love Barny

Tanya,

Thank you for the photo - what a beautiful baby! She really favors you, I think. I wish I could say I was losing the weight as quickly as you and Paige. I'm still 132 lbs. down from 162 lbs.

Good luck to everyone with getting to know your little bundles!

So how are all of my cycle buddies/new mommies doing? Are we surviving...barely?

Jessica has slept 8 hrs in a row the last 2 nights. I think that it is for sure a fluke and we will have sleepless nights again, I think it's better to be pessimistic and surprised than to have optimal expectations and be disappointed ( I also set my alarm clock ahead 7 mintues) :?

My 5 yr old took a terrible tumble on her bike on mother's day. Skull fracture and bleeding on the brain. We took the baby with us to the hospital and ended up staying for 3 days....thank goodness for nursing. Amanda (my 5 yr old) is going to be fine, we had a follow up yesterday, but it was very scary. That and a newborn to deal with makes these days seem much easier now that we are home and everyone is feeling better. BTW Jessica caught a cold in the hospital and ended up with a double ear infection and she has thrush. I feel like I'm due some good luck here, but if I went to go buy a lottery ticket somebody would probably hit my car.

Hello Paige gosh you have been through it what a terrible thing to happen to your poor little girl I bet you couldn't imagine you would be back in hospital so soon but hopefully all will be well now. I don't know children one is a worry two well twice the worry.....!
I've woken in the night and looked at Kirsty whose felt cold and prodded her to make sure alright then gone in and checked on Jess etc etc They are the best thing but I guess with the lack of sleep etc and my minds still bananas.
My c section scar is still open one end and weeping but continuing with the antibiotics and keeping clean but difficult because sits in a fold of skin (
yak.) Too much information!!! that and the bleeding came back been grounded by midwife it's my own fault for all the pram walking weathers been sunny and I felt great but obviously done too much.
Stay in touch Cate xxx
Did you see pictures that Michelle put up for me on General Forum? I have emailed some to Alicia as well.

Paige,

So sorry to hear about Amanda's accident - how scary that must have been, but I'm so glad she is okay. And poor Jessica, too! I'm sure you're glad to be home and with everyone on the mend.

Cate,

Yes, all of the photos are darling! I also have an opening in my incision with much the same description as yours. It has finally started to heal in the last two days, giving me hope that I will one day return to normal. But I am still enormous - I look 5 months pregnant. The doctor says the abdominal muscles have separated a lot. I believe it takes a surgery to correct this in extreme cases? Has anyone heard differently? I hope it will heal - I don't particularly want cosmetic surgery, but if I'm going to look pregnant, that is unacceptable

How are everyones babies? Jared and Emmett are doing great. I just wish we were getting out of the house more, but each day gets a little more manageable.

Alicia:

I found this on the web:

www.storknet.com/experts/fitness/exls16.htm

It's a whole series of exercises you can do to correct your abdominal separation. They actually should go back I think, but maybe because you were carrying twins it's different. My jelly belly has a long ways to go! My hips are still wider too, my friend who had a baby 16 weeks ago said that around 12 weeks her hips started to go back, because her jeans were starting to fit without losing weight.

I was 6 weeks postpardom yesterday, so hopefully I can start exercising without having any more bleeding, it's been going the whole 6 weeks (disgusting). We've gone for walks with the stroller, but that's been the extent of it.

With Jessica sleeping 8 hrs, getting up to nurse, then going back down for 3 yrs I feel like I have a whole new lease on life. I'm so much more functional during he day instead of zombie-like. She's up around 10 lbs 8 oz now, so the nursing must be working. I feel like I could feed Ethiopia, my chest is so humongous.....a full E. I want my tiny C's back as none of my clothes can contain the monsters.

I had beer and broccoli last night....today should be interesting for a nursing baby. :P
