Just wanted to pop on and congratulate all of you on your BFPs! Time seems to creep by as you wait for each scan ... but before you know it you will be scratching your head wondering where the weeks have gone. Best of luck to all of you on your upcoming ultrasounds!

Hugs!

hi girls,
just a quickie from me as tonight is the Eurovision Song Contest and i plan to sit in front of the tv and have a good laugh all night!! i wanted to pop on and say hi to all. i posted on the due december thread so you can see my situation there but here is a quick recap so you dont have to bother scrolling through!

I found out i was pregnant 9 days ago which was fantastic! we were diagnosed with "unexplained" after 15 months 0of ttc. we did our first round of IVF in feb and got a -ve . we tarted our second round almost 3 weeks ago and I was actually downregging when i found out i had become pregnant naturally. we were stunned! I talked elsewhere about where i fit now on these or other boards as this baby is not ivf although having been through it, it almost feels like it. shall is still join you??

I will be six weeks on tuesday and will still have a scan either next week or the week after. can anyone tell me whether they have had or are having a scan as early as 6 weeks + 2 which is the date we could make? what could you see from that?

I had a lot of period type pains to begin with but they are slightly less now. i am very tired, have incredibly sensitive nipples and have felt some nausea on the last couple of days.

we are so excited and can hhardly believe this. every day we hope that things are going to plan and a little someone is still holding on in there! i am a bit older than lots of you.... i am 38 and pregnant for the first time. baby due jan 17th from what i can tell..

will be able to have more personal contact next time but off for a quick bath before my tv extravaganza!!! have a lovely weekend all and congratulations!!

Minnow - try not to worry, I had AF type pains right up to about week 8/9. I had a bit of a bleed at week 7, and had my scan then, think they can do them earlier.

Good luck

Hi Minnow,
I had my first scan at 6w2d. I'm not sure if the same is for everyone or not. But given that you conceived naturally ... the exact date might be off. So you may in fact be more than 6w2d. Who knows. For me, they were able to detect the heart beat, take measurements, ID the yolk sac. Seeing the heart beat is a thrill like no other. Unfortunately mine was a little on the low side (90-95 bpm). At this point normal is usually above 100 bpm (so I was told). They told me that the heart typically starts beating around the 5-6 week, so not to be too concerned. I had to come back the following week to make sure the heart rate jumped up to where it should be. Needless to say there was a lot of worrying, but when we went back in at 7w2d the heart rate was a nice strong 140 bpm. I'm now 24 weeks with a little girl!

Keep in mind that everyone is different. Just wanted to let you know that the heart starts officially beating around the 5-6 week time frame, so not to be too concerned if it's not detected or not strong enough. 7+ weeks seems to be the ideal time to check.

Best of luck to you on Tuesday! It's WONDERFUL to see the little heart going away inside of you.

Hugs,
Kelly

Hello,
Welcome & congratulations to everyone, its good to see so many mayflowers on here! I remember looking on the May testers list and wishing it was my turn, but we've all got here in the end.
My worse symptom at the moment is being so tired I need a 2 hour sleep during the day, and then waking up to go to the loo at 3 am and not being able to get back to sleep for ages. (never used to go loo in night, but do now) My sleeping pattern is mental and having a DD already I have to fit my sleep round her.
I sacn at 7 weeks, I wish my scan was at 6 weeks. This wait seems longer than the 2ww. I just want to see that there is something really there.
Katy, sorry to hear about your 2nd embie, but at least you still have one there. We were only gonna have one go, but decided to remortgage the house to afford it again.
Minnow, of course you're welcome, youve still been thru IVF and we're all pg now no matter how we concieved. At my clinic you have to phone for treatment on the day AF arrives and do a pg test if negative you are not allowed any sexual contact from that point and start downreg on day 21. I thought this was standard everywhere, but obviously not. If less people followed these rules then there may be many more natural pregnancies, which would be no bad thing.
Happy pregnancy everyone

thanks for all your info and support girls. it is weird how different clinics have different protocols. my one doent believe the downregging spray can have any negative effect on an embryo and i checked out whether we had to avoid sex but they suggested we carry on as normal. apparently this has happened from time to time and the research shows that the babies born are absolutely fine. hope they are right!

had my first pg dream last night and saw two on a scan...i'm obviously still alligning myself closely with all the ivf!

take care all.

Minnow - Wow you must have been so happy and surprised when you discovered you were pg right at the start! Great news!
Susie - I am having the same kind of sleep pattern, a bit all over the place basically! I have at least managed to get back to sleep for a while luckily the last couple of days, but not that easy when you wake up and just feel excited!!

Hello ladies! Welcome to all the new comers. I'm glad us Mayflowers can all have a place to chat and share our feelings.

I'm back from my weekend trip and it amazing how different I feel today versus last week. I am sooooo tired. My nausea has been almost non-existent but now I am having to use the restroom tons. I am waking up every 2-3 hours at night and I can only sleep on my back if I have just used the restroom. It's that strange? Is anyone else having that happen?

minnow:
Of course you are welcome here. Glad to hear that it worked naturally for you. We were told NO sex what so ever once we did the egg aspiration but we could do it anytime before that. Of course I'm in the states. I think overseas the protocols are much different. From what I've read anyway. My first scan will be a 6w (Friday). Not sure what we'll see but my dr said we will be able to see the sacs and maybe a heartbeat. I'm so hoping we can hear the heartbeat. I think that will make it REAL!

katy:
Sorry to hear about your one embie! :( But the good news is you still have one. :D

I had 3 embies put back and I have been wondering if one didn't attach would I know when it came out? That's probably a strange question. But I'm dying to know how many embies attached and I haven’t noticed anything unusual.

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all surviving the side effects. After what I said about enjoying them, I take it back after this morning. Woke at 4.30am feeling very nauseous and was sick for the first time. I have spent the whole morning feeling v.sick and was v.worried I was going to be at work. (After gipping most of the morning-sorry if TMI!!) I am feeling better now, will see what tommorrow brings! Shouldnt complain, as long as my scan is ok on Thursday, I will be v.happy.
Mil- Thankyou for the website on HCG levels. It cartainly made me feel better.
Katy- I am sorry you lost one of your little embies, but I bet you are so relieved and happy seeing the other with a heartbeat!

Take care everyone
Love Kim.

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time today. I have had nausea but have never visited the porcelain gods yet. I have read that if you wake up with nausea you should keep crackers beside your bed and eat a few and that will hopefully help. Glad to hear that the beta levels website helped. I found it very helpful as well. I can't wait to hear on Thursday how you are doing and how many babies.... :D

Hope everyone is feeling well too!

Hello again ladies!

Just thought I would share this awesome website I found. It has everything on it. www.babyfit.com It is completely free and it give you meal plans and you can put in your meal and it tracks it to see if you are getting enough of each food group. It also gives you a run down for each week of pregnancy. It has lots of other neat stuff. It is the most complete site I have found.

If anyone has any other great website, please share.
:P

hi girls,
how are you all feeling now? i think these early symptoms are horrid although I would NEVER complain! the nausea has kicked in over the last two days after having been very light. today has seen me spend most of it in bed as I just feel so tired and sick. no vomitting so far!! i find that by about 3pm each day i am absolutely shattered and longing for a sleep.

am now having my scan on thursday wich will be 6w2d. hopefully we will see a heartbeat and start to believe this is all real. my mother has gone completely mad on the whole bay theme and is incredibly excited about the idea of a first grandchild so we are praying all will be well.

we fly to ireland on fri for dh's 40th birthday and i just know he will have a few drinks and want to tell his (large!) family the news so i am hoping the scan will at least make us feel a little more secure. is it really true that once a heartbeat is detected the odds of a miscarriage fall to about 3%? i cant believe it's that low. anyway i remain optimistic and imagine little squidge growing everyday.

hope all of your sickness is manageable and that you are looking forward to scans etc as much as me. i shall be keen to hear all of your news. the mayflowers are blooming nicely!!

Hi all
I'm feeling fine now. I dont really feel sick much now, but have bad backache, which after phoning my clinic is probably a result of having an epidural when giving birth to my DD 4 yrs ago.
I'm so happy at the mo, but also worried in case something were to go wrong.
Anyway good luck to all scanning this week

Hello ladies! :)
I hope everyone is feeling fine today. I am feeling much better. I have not really been having any sickness the last few days. Now I am starting to think maybe there is something wrong. I just can't wait till Friday to make sure everything is okay. My DH says I worry way too much but I have waited so long for this and I just want everything to go okay.

minnow: I hope you are right about there only being a 3% chance for miscarriage after the heartbeat is formed. That would be wonderful.

Good luck to all who are getting there scans this week. Keep us updated as to the outcomes.

Hello everyone

Hardly felt sick much at all since monday and feeling the same as you mil, when you dont have the symptoms you worry!! However, came down with a bad cold yesterday.Hard to tell if my dizzyness and feeling weak is from the cold or been pregnant. Rang in sick to work today, just not worth making myself worse.Feel better now, but bored!! keep logging on to see whats going on!
Is anyone else still getting pains in their ovaries? It's over 4 weeks now since EC and although the pains arent really bad and come every now and again (sharper on the left, more dull ache on the right) Im not sure if still settling from drugs and EC or to do with pregnancy.
Hope everyones feeling ok and taking care of themselves (making the most of it and getting DH to do more work!!)
Good luck minnow with your scan tommorrow. I hope it's happy news for both of us.
Love Kim.
