Sorry to hear you have a cold. That really sucks. Being pregnant doesn't help because you are limited on what you can take. I hope you feel better soon. I was still getting pains in my ovaries but haven't felt much recently. Ever once in a while I will get a small pain. My doctor told me last week on Wed that my ovaries were still very swollen and might be for a few more weeks. I still feel a little bloated too. I gained some weight while I was doing IVF which really sucks because now I am going to gain a whole lot of weight and that means I will have to work harder after the baby. But it will all be worth it.
:D

Hello everyone hope were all OK
Mil - you made me laugh with what you said about no symptoms and DH saying not to worry, coz that could so easily be me saying that
K - My ovaries still hurt and my stomach is still really bloated. Last time I had IVF I asked at my 7 week scan when will my stomach and ovaries get back to normal? The nurse made me laugh when she said they get smaller when your about 3 months pg, but you'll be big from pg by then, so you'll never notice.
I got a cold now too, my clinic said I've been so focused on treatment that as soon as I've stopped my immune system is low coz of the stress so all germs can get in easy. Great eh?
I have little sickness now, and I keep prodding my boobs to check they still hurt as reassurance! I so want an early scan. I need proof that there is something there!
Anyway have a good evening all

Hello
Thanks Mil and Susie. This website has been great just to be able to ask questions and discuss symptoms, otherwise I feel I would be really left out in the cold. It seems such a long time between visits to the clinic and I feel I get paranoid about every twinge (or worried if I arent feeling anything!)
and its good to know others feel the same.
Susie-sorry you are also suffering from a cold. I surpose we invest so much in this treatment, it really takes it out of us and makes us more vulnerable.
Take care of yourselves everyone and speak soon
Love Kim.

Hi everyone

Just had my scan. Everything appears ok and there was a heartbeat!
I was a bit confused because she mentioned it was small and measured it approx 5w2d which is a week behind what I worked it out as. Has anyone else had this? The clinic seemed quite happy and are not worried at all. Is it because some implant later (and maybe that was why my HCG levels were lower than normal) or can they vary in size at this stage? Sorry for all the questions-it never stops does it! Anyway, very happy at the moment. Hope everyone else is ok and hope your scan is ok today Minnow.
Love Kim

hi Kim, just seen your message and am delighted that you got to see that little heartbeat. was it an incredible moment?? i cant help re the size issue as i am such a novice with all of this. i guess the clinic would have alerted you if they had any concerns so i really wouldnt worry about it. just be happy that its little heart is beating away.

my scan is this afternoon and i will be so relieved to find a heartbeat...fingers v tightly crossed! i suppose it is the first confirmation that things are progressing. last 2 days have seen the most hideous nausea from mid morning until early evening. today seems to have started a bit better so i am grateful for that!!

hope the rest of you are feeling as fine and dandy as you can be at this stage!

Good morning ladies! :)

k:
Glad to hear your scan went well. I'm sure everything is fine. I agree with minnow that if anything looked wrong the clinic would have let you know. I so happy you got to hear the little heartbeat and see it. I guess you just had 1. No twins for you? My DH and I are really hoping for twins so we don't have to do this all over again years down the road.

minnow:
Can't wait to hear about your scan. Mine is tomorrow and I can't wait!!!! I so wish it was today. 8)

Hope you are both feeling better from your colds.

Kim,
Big congrats to you!!! I'm not sure if you've seen my earlier post, but I had a scan at 5 weeks due to some intense cramping and bleeding. They just found that one of the embies didn't make it but one is doing great! I have the photos and they got a heartbeat that was around 105. At that time, the baby was about the size of a grain of rice and its heart, which had only been beating for a day or two, was the size of a poppy seed! I go back June 1 for the 8wk. scan and hopefully will see more. I have also read many articles concerning the size of the uterus and the changing of due dates b/c of that size. Don't think there is any reason for concern! Just celebrate :D :D :D

Minnow,
How did the scan go??? Cannot wait to hear from you!!

Love and kisses,
Katy

Hi everyone

Thanks for your messages.
Mil-yes there was only one. Because my HCG levels were low in the begining I always though there would be just one. I think I would have been v.shocked to see two. The nurse gave me a scan picture which im proudly showing everyone at the moment, not that theres a lot to see!

Katy-I did see your prev post and was v.sorry to see you lost one, but fantastic news on the other little fighter. It is so reasuring seeing the heartbeat isnt it? I remember reading all your earlier posts when you first got your positive result (you tested same day as me, but I couldnt log on for some reason in the begining). Its great to see things going ok.

On my scan apparently it shows my ovaries to still be very enlarged, so no surprises that I am still having some pains-in fact seeing them im surprised it isnt worse!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Minnow hope everything has gone ok on your scan, thinking of you.

Love Kim

hi all,
sounds like there is a real air of positivity around - fantastic! our scan went really well ans dh and i were thrilled to bits to see a little squide in there with its heart beating away. size v normal and my dates seem around right so i guess we're still on track for mid jan. we will have another scan at 9.5 weeks although i know it's not really necessart. i guess we could wait until the nuchal at 12 but once it was suggested it was hard to turn down the opportunity of seeing our little wonder again!

i think dh has finally started to really believe that we just might be having a baby and has become completely soppy!!
although i have still felt a bit sick today, i am currently tucking into fish and chips - not the healthy food i had in mind!

for those of you waiting for your scan, prepare for something special!!
hope colds and ovaries are not causing too much discomfort tonight.

love to all.

Hi Minnow

Great news about your scan. It really is amazing seeing it for the first time with the heartbeat. Where did you hear the info about miscarriage falling to 3% if you see a heartbeat?
I was also unhealthy and had fish & chips today! (but v.good in eating plenty of fruit!)
Hope everyones elses 1st scans go well

Hi girls

if that's OK with you loot, I'd love to officially join you  8) 8)

It's so wonderful to see you all over here, all of you so familiar to me    We finally got our HCG this morning, after waiting all day yesterday and doing a sneaky pee stick that was faintly +ve but you know   and we have 43,6 so BFP     . Haven't had time to catch up on your thread yet, but generally can see that you are all dojg well and scanning and all sorts, it's so exciting isn't it???

I am so scared, I don't believe it. Dh is mega positive and relaxed. I don't think it will sink in until we have our first scan on 7th June   I am feeling quite queasy and light headed and boobs are agony   I get off easier than you poor sweeties as we had donor eggs, but am being pumped full of oestrogen and progesterone to lots of side effects I guess.

I ahve also put on a lot of weight, bit worried about that really  I gave up smoking 3 months before ET and have had terrible munchies with the drugs but have tried to eat healthy. I guess the only thing now is more exercise as Zita is very against "dieting" now..too late   still isn't it a lovel;y problem to have

Oh - can you help me, how do I calculate my dates then?? We had ET 13th May, and Fertilisation was 11th May. Do I just add 2 weeks??

Love and kisses to all

BigJ

If you look to the bottom left of this page -under Resources -you'll see a link to a pregnancy calculator. According to your dates you should now be around 4 weeks & 2 days pregnant with an EDD of 31 January 2006.

Have a play with the calulator - its good fun!
