Maci -

Congratulations on TWINS! I am so happy for you that it actually brought tears to my eyes. I don't know if I am being hormonal or what, but either way it is such fab news.

I am at 3 weeks tomorrow and have another blood test to check HCG levels. I hope they are progressing well.

I have been pretty tired and sometimes irritable. Other times, I feel just fine. No major food cravings yet.

Hope everyone is doing well these days.

Little P - I hope to see you and all the others on this board someday.

Maci:
WOW Twins!!!! I am so happy for you! It made me have chills. It's just such a wonderful process. We really wanted twins since we didn't get any frosties but I am so happy with 1. Now that I think about it, I'm kinda glad. Not sure what I would have done. I have some really good friends who just had twins naturally and before I knew I was checking everything out and boy do you have a hard road ahead of you. But every second will be worth it. :) They said it's hard but wonderful too.

Glad to hear I am not the only one who wants to eat everything. Hopefully the nausea stays away, because it sucks. Everyday it gets a little worse.

Congratulations again & Good luck!

hi girls,
sorry i havent posted recently. we had a great bank holiday weekend in ireland where dh couldnt resist telling all his family (big) and friends our news! they are delighted of course and telling people made it seem more real. i was so tired though.. i even nipped off to bed at around midnight on dh's 40th birthday night as i couldnt keep my eyes open!

other than that, since around 6.5 weeks i have been feeling really nauseous. over the last few days i have barely been able to move from bed and have been sick most days which is just hideous. i know these are good signs but i never expected to feel quite so rough. it just means that i dont feel like doing anyhting other than lying down. and the nausea is there on and off throughout the whole day...yuck! still, it feels so wrong to complain and we are so delighted with every day that goes on.

i tried to track down the miscarriage stats re there being less chance once a heartbeat is detected, but cant find them. dh is a doctor and his medical books seem to say that by the time a pregnancy has been confirmed then the risk is 1 in 7, this then drops post 10 weeks and of course is even less post 12 weeks. i cross my fingers every day.

we have another scan at the ivf clinic at 9.5 weeks and then we're into the wide world. we will have half of our care here in london before we move to ireland at around my 22 week mark. i have booked an obstetrician there as well. i have booked my nuchal at the London fetal medicine Centre so that if we then decide to have CVS or an amnio we will see the wonderful professor who did wonders with Caroline's triplets. it's all so exciting!

i'm so delighted to see so many newcomers on this thread.. may was truly an amazing month! i am trying to catch up with who has had scans etc and all is sounding good. and Maci's news about twins is just wonderful! have a great weekend all.

LittleP, Sher, Kim, Susie, Mil and Minnow

Thank you for your messages.

To be honest with you I have been in a stunned daze all day. Don't get me wrong - I am delighted to be blessed with 2 babies but also freaking out a bit at what lies ahead and the practicalities of life with 2 newborns.

I am a bit of a panic-merchant at the best of times but I'll simmer down in a few days. DH is just so excited and convinced we'll do just fine.

Hope you have all had a good day.

Minnow I hope your nausea eases off soon. What strategies have you been trying to ease it?

Hi everyone

Hope you are all doing ok.

Minnow-I have read different info on the internet, one which said 97% of embryos with cardiac activity have a normal outcome (This was comments on if a heartbeat was seen at a 6 week scan). Another source said over 90% of women in whom fetal heart activity is detected at 8 wks will not miscarry. This gives us some comfort when we are seeing heartbeats on scans, however for anyone who doesnt see a heartbeat on an early scan, (just so you dont worry, I know some first scans are coming up!) I have read that 50% wont show a heartbeat at an early stage. I have read that much on the internet that I cannot remember where I read most of it!
Hope your nausea doesnt cause too many problems and hopefully doesnt last too long!
Hope everyone has a nice (relaxing) weekend.
Love Kim.

Morning Girls!

Maci - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Wow twins - that is fantastic news!!!! Really pleased for you!!!!
Joy - Hope your blood test went ok? Yes those hormones really are raging aren't they!!!! I was really crying last night because DH had forgotten to put my spaghetti on!!! Oooops!!!!
Kim - Thanks for posting that information you found, I found that so helpful today!
Susie - Not long until your scan now!!
And hello to everyone else too! What dates are everyone's up and coming scans?? Sorry if I am having trouble keeping up, I really don't want to miss anyone!

Well had a bit of a scare earlier in the week as I started to get pains on one side and really panicked, so we managed to get an early scan on Wednesday which was 6 weeks to check if all ok, and luckily we saw our little Jellybean Bub there in the right place and even saw the little heart fluttering already!! Wow we just cried with such relief!!! It was amazing! My nurse totally checked me and said she was totally sure there was not another embie in the worng place and the pain was caused by a very enlarged ovary on that side - 60mm!! And there is a cheeky 36mm follie in there too!! So now wonder been a bit ouchy!! Pain has gone now though luckily, and at least I know if any twinges that's what it is, and so if anyone else worried with similiar twinges that could well be those big ovaries settling down! So next scan is 15th June and can't wait!!
But does the worry ever end??? Today I have woken up with much less sore boobs!!! And of course totally worried me now!! Still completely feeling sicky all morning and other feelings still there, but just wish I could have a day when I am not worried that something is not right!!!! I have read that symtoms can come and go, but can't help but worry can you! Has anyone else had symptoms come and go yet? Turning obsessive!!

Well love to you all and hope you all have lovely weekends!!
Love Kel xx

Hi Girls

I got a fab BFP on the 23rd May, so I can officially join you on this side now.

I had 2 terrible weeks in hospital with OHSS which developed from day 9. It's still not gone but they said it will take time.

I'm so glad it's worth it. :D

My first scan is on 13th June. DH and I can't wait. I really want to see the heartbeat(s). Then perhaps I'll really believe it. Daft aren't I

I've read back and everyone seems to be doing ok. It looks like we're all feeling pretty much the same.

hi Suz, congratulations and welcome to you! the scan is definitely the highlight of those first couple of weeks - simply amazing. thanks Kim, too, for those stats. it's really intersrting to read and provides some reassurance doesnt it? i must say i cannot wait until the 12 week mark in the hope that i can relax a bit more but as so many people on here say, will we ever relax?!!

Kel-

I know what you mean about never stop worrying. I woke up today and I felt great - my breasts were not sore. Of couse you start to worry, but I ate a good, hearty breakfast and decided to not let it get to me. It is encouraging to see others feeling the same way.

Hello Everyone,

I haven't been on here for a while. It seems like all I do with my free time these days is sleep to help deal with the naseau. No complaints though - as my mother reminded me . . . I paid $$$ to feel this way. She is right.

I hope everyone is feeling well. Does anyone know when the official first week of the 2nd trimester begins? I'm hoping that will end my symptoms. Is anyone else noticing a major growth in their waistline this early? I don't know if it's because this is my second pregnancy (1st one was 7 1/2 years ago), because of the hormones, or what??? I've already put on 5 pounds. I didn't show until my 5th month with my daughter.

Have a great week!
