Welcome Smita, its good to be getting some june testers in here, we seem to be overrun with Mayflowers at the moment!
I find this thread is just an extension of the 2ww thread coz we're all still just as worried as when we were in that room, but now we just have a different worry.
Feel free to ask questions and moan rant and worry to your hearts content

Hello everyone

Hope you have all had a good weekend. Its been very hot here. Not used to this weather! Cant sleep v.well when its this hot!

Welcome Smita. Im so glad you came to join us. As Susie says it is like an extension of the 2ww, you just have different worries! Worrying when you do have some symptoms, worrying when you dont! Just join in!!

Kel, Sher and Big J. So glad your scans went well. It is a relief seeing that heartbeat and knowing everythings ok isnt it?
Kel - As you know, on my first scan they said it was small and dated it a week later than me! But by the next scan it was exactly how I had dated it and measured the 'correct' size. I dont think they can accuratley tell at this stage. A work colleague of mine said they were contantly telling her that her baby was going to be small (she is small herself). When she was born she was over 8Ib, so not that small after all!
Big J - sorry you are also going through the bad nausea symptoms. You and Minnow can sympathise with each other!

Im gutted about Joys news. I so hoped that the scan was going to show everything was ok. Joy if you are reading this, you are in my thoughts and I hope it wont be too long before you are back on a first tri thread again.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and thanks for your support ladies when im being all emotional. Doing ok at the moment. Its just nice to let off steam sometimes!!

Take care
Love Kim.

Hi all:)
Im doing ok..still having aches and twinges all over my tummy area and keep getting paranoid.. the doc said that till she does the first scan she cant reassure me abt anything, except that yes I'm indeed preg..she says she wants to make sure its not an ectopic.. is there anyway we can tell if its an ectopic??
My scan is only on the 28th.. waiting..
But this is a much nicer wait- my only worry is that one day I'll find that its all been a lovely dream...

Hi Smita

Dont worry about aches and pains - its all normal! Ive had AF type pains on a daily basis (Although not constant, but at least once a day for a few minutes). Its all to do with the uterus growing and stretching. Other pains I had were my ovaries. They were still very enlarged on my first scan, although were back to normal by my second scan. As far as signs for an ectopic pregnancy, I think one of the main signs would be pain on one side. However with doing early scans they would hopefully pick it up before you got to an acute stage. However, dont read into things too much. I had quite bad pain on my right side prior to my scan and was worried I had an ectopic. However, it was my ovary which was huge! I know some of the other girls have also had this as well. You will worry about things, its normal. Just try and enjoy it as well!
Take care

Smita,

Congratulations on your BFP! Here is to a happy and healthy 1st Trimester.

It sounds like I had a similar experience to Kim, although my pain was a bit of a bear. I had very strong pains on the left abdomen. It ends up it was an enlarged ovary - ruling out an ectopic pregnancy.

My advice would be not to worry. We all have had our aches and pains mixed with a little nausea in between.

Sher

You cant compare your pain to mine - mine was nothing compared to what you had to go through!!! Hope you are feeling better these days and those twins of your arent causing too many side effects!

HI everyone!
Thanks for reassuring me about the aches n pains, I have my first scan next week- anyone with experiences on what happens in the first scan? My doc told me they'll be doing it to make sure its not an ectopic, but did anyone get to hear the heartbeat of the baby on their first??

Esther:
Welcome & congrats on the BFP. Glad to see more people are joining us.

Smita:
I am sure you can hardly wait until your scan next week. I had my first scan at 6w and was able to see a little dot and the heartbeat. But don't freak out if you can't see the heartbeat. Sometimes you can't. The heart beat develops right around 6w. My second scan was at 8w 4days and it actually looked like a baby and I got to see it move and I got to see the heartbeat again. No matter what it is very cool to see it.

I have my first appointment with my OBGYN on Friday. I'm very excited. I hope we get to do another scan. Has anyone had their first visit after being released from your IVF doctor?

Good luck everyone!

Hi Everyone

Welcome to the site, Smita and Esther.

I am so devastated for Joy, my heart goes out to her :(

Sher, don't worry about the smaller of your little beanies. Twins develop at different rates so I'm sure everything will be ok. How's your big ovary doing-still giving you jip? Mine is, but I'm still off work so I can rest. Don't rush back to work. You need to rest up too.

Big J and Minnow, hope your nausea is getting better.

My second scan is on Mon 27th - can't wait :D

Hope everyone else is doing ok.
