Hi everyone

Deanne - Welcome and congratulations on your BFP!! So glad your blood test put your mind at rest. Hope your scan comes round quick!!

Susie - Im just the same with the worry about everything. I get emotional and irritable with DH. I bought him a book 'The blokes guide to pregnancy'.
(He is actually reading it as well!). I have pointed out that as it says in the book I will be emotional etc. I do feel bad when im horrible for no particular reason! I also think my next scan will be approx 20 wks. I see the midwife for the first time next week, so will hopefully find out then.

Big J - As I said on the gen.forum, I am so sorry for you and DH. Im glad you feel able to try again in september. Will keep everything crossed for you that it works and you are back again. Take care of yourselves.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and you all have a good weekend.
Love kim

Hi everyone

Firstly - Big J. I was so upset to hear your news the other day. I just can't believe it and I am so sad for you. I am glad that you are strong and that you will be having another go in Sept.

All's well with me. Still having enormous problems with my sleep patterns but I am getting used to it. I can't tell you how many 5 o'clocks I have seen recently.

Looking forward to my 8wk scan on Thurs - nervous as well as excited. If all goes well, then we get discharged back to our GP and local authority.

Hope everyone else is feeling OK this w/e.

Mil- I absolutely agree that the progesterone shots are the way to go. I don't even care if they hurt anymore. However, I am already 10 weeks (also been taking them every day) and I know they were contributing to headaches and morning sickness. I was willing to keep taking them if the docs recommended it, but both the RE and the OB said that there was really no reason as long as I wasn't spotting, so it looks like those may be a thing of the past. (By the way, where are you in Texas? I am in Houston.)

However, my OB has suggested the P17 (17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate) weekly shots from week 16-36, which is a form of progesterone. They have been shown to reduce preterm labor in singletons by 34%, but still unproven in multiples. There are no side effects, though, so I think I'll give it a try.

A cerclage is basically when they sew your cervix closed. I have no indications for it, as my cervix looks fine and this is my first preg, so no obstetric history, but my mom had cervical problems and it can be genetic. Anyway, think I may hold off on that for a while. My sis-in-law is only 11w3d and already 2cm dialated and cervix is shortened to 2.5 cm, so they are really anxious to do one on her and scheduled her for 5:30 am Mon morning. She is currently carrying triplets, but has been strongly encouraged to reduce to twins.

Also agree with everyone who may do this again to save their meds, but my insurance pays for this (3 times) because of my MS- also I have 4 frozen little guys. It's really shocking to look at all of the meds together (even with over half of it gone)- do you all remember getting your shipment, complete with syringes!?

Hie Ladies

I had a bad day 2day, my left side gave me a hard time, I really was convinced something was wrong, I contacted my clinic who advised me to take paracetamol but also advised to go straight to hospital if the pain persisted and to drink a lot of water. It helped and within hours I was feeling much better. I thot I was going to loose my baby thinking its an ectopic. Its a hard time knowing you are going to loose the one thing you have waited for so long to happen.

How is everyone doing , hope you are well ladies , please look after yourselves and your babies. Iam still shaken I havent got much to say.

Hi Esther

Im sorry to hear about your worries. I know you said you had a FET so unlike most of us your pains arent due to your ovaries settling after the drugs. Things are changing though in your body, so maybe that is what it is. (Dont the ovaries also have a role to play in hormone production as well??). Its a shame your clinic cant do an early scan to put your mind at rest, but it's good that the pain has subsided. I would have thought it would persist if it was an ectopic - although im obviously no expert.
I did worry a little before my first scan because I had sharp pain on my right side occasionally - and that was due to enlarged ovaries. I was concerned enough though to be looking up symptoms of ectopics prior to the scan.
It's hard isnt it? You think once you get your +ve thats it, but it brings a whole new set of worries with it!
Take care of yourself. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much.
Love Kim

Hello girls (and DH's)

I was going to wait to move us over to this thread until Monday 4 July, but thought I would join in now.

Congratulations to all the June testers who are here already. Our thoughts and a BIG HUG to those who aren't here this time. You know it will work when the time is right.

As I have posted on the other two sites (aussies & kiwis and 2ww), Donna has an official BFP now. She has a scan booked for July 4. I think she will be around 8 weeks by then. Last week's scan showed that it was not ectopic. I guess that she will be told her due date next week. I have already checked on the preg. calc. anyway.

I will keep checking on the threads - I seem to be hooked now. I am also becoming a little hooked on ebay looking for paddington bear baby stuff. (a nana's work is never done).

Will catch up after the scan.
Hope you have all had a great weekend.

Hi Everyone

BIGJ -- IAM SO SO SORRY. I FEEL FOR YOU. :(

JULIE AND DEANNE - Welcome to this side. It feels weird doesn't it.

MIL - GLad to see you're feeling better

SHER - I'm just over 9 weeks now. Have my scan in the morning. I'm a mix of worry and excitement. I will let you know how it goes.
Glad to see your're back at work. In my job I'm on my feet for 10 hrs a day so the doc wants me to stay off, just to make sure all is well.

---------------------------------------------------------
I don't know if anyone can help me with this. It's kind of embarrasing.
I'm having a little trouble in the toilet dept  . I've tried Senacot but was doubled up with wind. I drink loads of water and juice. Does anyone have any tips?

Hi everyone. Newbie to this side. I am so glad to be here. I was wondering from those carrying multiples, did you have periods of abdominal pressure? I don't think I'm hyper stimulated, because it's intermittant, but this morning my belly felt like it was heavy, and there was stretchy pressure. Is that just my uterus growing? It's not painful, just odd.
On the day of my et, the lab called to caution us, because I had 2 10cells, and an 8, and I'm just barely 30, with a healthy uterus, so they were very concerned that I am going to have triplets, since we put an extra emby in. My first test indicated higher then usual hormones, so we are pretty sure there are at least two. Thus it makes sense that even just over four weeks I may be able to feel my uterus changing and growing. Is this the pressure? I posted another question about this under it's own topic, but there seem to be a lot of twins mommies replying to this one. Congrats all others. Despite the aches, this is the best feeling in the world!!!!

Suz,
Belinda here, no I'm not pregnant , just lurking about and saw your thread re. constipation. I had this BADLY when I was pregnant with Annie-Boo. My Obstetrician recommended glycerine suppositories and they worked a treat!!, can get them over the counter without a prescription in Australia, I'm sure would be the same in the UK. They are very gentle, basically just soap I think and no nasty tummy pain etc associated with their use. Good luck!!, can be dreadfully uncomfortable..
Good luck ladies :D

Hi Girls..

BigJ - I am so very sorry to read your post ((HUGS)).. Just lost for words xx I am thinking of you and DH and just so sorry...

Hello to all the new PG girls that have joined the thread! I must say that there are so many weird pains and twinges in the first few weeks, that it is so hard to not worry. But PG hormones do keep the ovaries swollen for a good few weeks and can be uncomfy, but they do ease I promise! Not to say the worrying goes away though!!

Esther - Hope your pains have eased? I went in for an early scan at 5/6 weeks as I was very worried about pains on one side and I have experience an Ecoptic PG, so they agreed to scan me early. So I think if you are worried you should be able to get a scan at your Early PG Unit if you tell them your concerns? There are lots of weird twinges very early on, but I found it impossible to be reasured until I saw our little Bubs right there. Hope they can just for your piece of mind.

Suz - Good luck with your scan today!

Kim - Love the sound of the book!!! Have you found your emotions to be a bit all over too?? I have been so irrational at times and DH looks a bit freaked sometimes!

Hi to everyone else too - sorry haven't caught up for a while, been up to nice things like lunch out and shopping this weekend - trying to make the time go quickly as I have had to put my job on hold until Bubs is here as it involves loads of dancing and travelling, not good for Baby!! But it has made the time go slowly as I want to be occupied, and find myself worrying so much more about everything with more time on my hands. Need a plan to keep busy as can't keep shopping and lunching of course!!!!   Scan on Friday - nervous again!

Love to all,
Love Kel xx

Hi! Welcome to all the new comers. There is getting to be so many of us, I'm having a hard time keeping up which is wonderful! :D

Julie:
I am also in Houston. This is really cool. I live in Katy and work in the Med Center. Who is/was your IVF doctor? Since you are still on some type of progesterone, I'm guessing your body didn't start producing it naturally? I was told I would only have to take it until my body could keep up which was until I was almost 4w. Then they test my levels and my body had started producing it on its own. I don't know anything about the P17 either. I just saw my OB for the 1st time on Friday and there was no mention of it. This is also our 1st. I hope your sis-in-law is okay and everything turns out fine.

Esther:
I hope you are feeling better. Can you not call your clinic and demand an early scan since you are having these symptoms? I hope and pray everything is fine. I totally know what you mean about waiting so long and the thought of losing it is just unbearable.

I have been quite emotional lately which I am not normally this emotional. My husband left yesterday to go on a business trip for 3 days and I just cried like a baby. I have not cried when he left on a business trip is years. Not sure what overcame me. Even after he left I couldn't stop crying. It was so strange. I am assuming this is because of the pregnancy. Anyone having fits of crying???

Hi all the newbies
Suz, I have the same problem as you with the toilet dept. I was advised by my midwife last time I was pg to drink Fybogel and eat weetabix. The fybogel is disgusting so I dont bother with that but I have 2 weetabix for breakfast and 2 for supper and that works brilliantly.
I'm still waiting for my midwife to get in touch. We booked a holiday this weekend , just a week in Devon on the 9 July but we need to get away after all the stress we've been thru. So I hope that I get to see a midwife before I go. I've managed to make an appointment for a nuchal scan for the day after we get back. The NHS are so slow and useless they drive me mad.
Anyway happy pregnancies to all
