Kim- Yes, let's set up a group so that we can all continue together. I feel like we have already fought battles together, like nausea, stupid comments and all sorts of scares and worries. We have also all been devastated by some of our friends that have left us. Let us know what it is called and we can all transition at the same time...
Susie- I hope you feel better soon. I have had weird reactions to food and I know all pangs down there are worrisome. Please let us know how things are going.
Minnow- I had my nuchal scan, too- also 1.1 mm for both babies, so I am thrilled. I am also done with screening (most of those later blood tests won't work for twins anyway and am not doing CVS or amnio now), and ready to start believing that I might actually be having babies around Christmas time. Congrats on your excellent reading. Mil, or anyone else in Houston, I went to the Center for Medical Genetics on Fannin.
Oh, also, Minnow- try the Sea-Bands for your nausea. I was skeptical at first, but they are miraculous. They don't always completely eliminate the nausea, but did stop the vomiting for me. I am getting past all of that, but still am afraid to take them off. I wear them 24/7!
Has anyone else started having migraine-type headaches? I am miserable much of the day with these, just as morning sickness seems to be letting up.

Thank you so much for all your support over the last couple of days. You will be glad to hear that things are slowly improving though I have to take it day by day.
The gastroenterologist was very sympathetic yesterday, but to settle my flare up, I am back on the tablets. I need to get my body back on the straight and narrow before I can consider coming off them. I am on a much reduced dose than before, which is good.
Kim - Since November I have been seeing an acupunturist regarding my colitis and have been reasonably stable ever since (with a couple of flare up exceptions). The only problem is that she can't do much for me now that I am preggo. I drink nettle tea for my digestion, but am worried about taking anything else!
I also saw my GP yesterday and she was delighted for me as she knows I've been trying for a while. I'm booked in to see the midwife next week as per her instructions so I will take it from there. I will, however, be going down to London to the Fetal Medicine Centre, too, for my nuchal scan in about three weeks' time. My sister-in-law recommended I go there.
Susie and Smita, I hope you are feeling better today. And much love to everyone.

Bubs was moving loads and just wouldn't keep still, even the woman doing the scan was surprised how much he moved! I didnt think I'd get so emotional but it was great and DH looked like he was gonna cry too. The 12 week scan is so much clearer it was wonderful.
Anyway I hope your all doing OK. I must go and pack now for my holiday. My DD is only 4 but already she is saying what she will and wont wear. I can see the packing taking a long time

Hello everyone! I just returned from my vacation and I see a lot has happened since I left. I hope everyone is still doing well. I am finally starting to feel much better but the baby hated flying..... I got so sick! It was awful, especially since that was the first time I had been sick in quite a while. Now I am starting to have consistent headaches. I'm not sure what is worse nausea or headaches.
Julie:
Where can you get the Sea-Bands? I am going to be flying again in several weeks and thought I might try them and see if that helps. It's a really long flight and I hate to fly to begin with so anything that will help with the nausea will be worth a try.
Anyone starting to show yet? We just went on vacation to visit our family and everyone just kept rubbing my belly. I also got my first baby gifts. It was a lot of fun! I can't wait to starting decorating the room. When is everyone going to start buying furniture and stuff?

Mil- You can get the Sea Bands at CVS. Do not get the off-brand ones from Walgreens, as they are way too tight. They are near the Dramamine, you usually have to ask where they are.
I also am experiencing the headaches, which were threatening to turn into migraines. Here were the options I was given for help: 1) Vicodin or Tylenol with codeine (neither of which I can take, as I vomit incessantly with narcotics- plus, I don't know that I would really feel great about taking narcotics while pregnant) 2) see a neurologist (who would prescribe the same thing) 3) regular Tylenol, supplemented with caffeine from Coke or coffee. I have been doing #3 with regular Coke and it helps when they aren't too bad. I may step it up to coffee (4 oz or so) if it gets really bad. Small doses of caffeine are safe, and seem a lot better than narcotics for babies. Does anybody else have ideas?
It was just getting so that I couldn't even eat from the pain, which of course, brought on more nausea... However, today is a better day, maybe because we got a teeny bit of rain and got some of the gunk out of the air.
Acupuncture for migraines has worked for me in the past- may try that also.

Thanks Julie. I am definitely going to try the Sea-Bands. There is a CVS just down the road. For my headaches I have been taking Tylenol every once in a while. I don't drink caffeine so that won't work for me. I usually have them in the morning and I feel better in the afternoon. My sister had horrible headaches when she was pregnant with her 2nd one and her doctor prescribed maternity massages..... Sounds good to me. Not sure if they do that here or not. She lives in Florida.
Has anyone heard of the new Baby Gender Mentor Home DNA Gender Testing Kit? They can test your DNA and see what you are having as early as 5 weeks but it costs $275. I saw a special on one of the major networks in the US. Here is the link if anyone is interested. http://www.pregnancystore.com/baby_gender_mentor.htm

Mil -
I did hear about that gender test. It's funny, my husband wants to find out and I want it to be a surprise. So we will see who wins that one.
Suz -
You have not posted in quite awhile and I am hoping everything is ok with you. Please let us know how you are?
Everyone have a great weekend and those with scans on Monday (which includes yours truly) I wish you best of luck. I cannot tell you how excited I am to have this done since my last one was at 7 Weeks and I was extremely ill during it.
I looked into the nuchal scan since some of you have been mentioning this. The ultrasound specialist told me it was a standard test they do if the baby is in the right position on that morning. Fingers crossed on that one.
I've been having some dizzy spells and doc put me on an iron supplement since I have a slight case of anemia. They said this is pretty common.
We will soon be announcing our pregnancy (within the next week). I am excited and also nervous. Has anyone else made the grand announcement?
