I know what you mean about the 2ww - it just feels like one after another. I'm trying to make the most of each day because each day I don't bleed is a bonus as far as I'm concerned - I just wish there was something more conclusive to suggest I'm really pregnant. Are you all taking daily multi-vits? I'm taking 'Well woman' which is a general multi vit with folic acid but I'm wondering whether to change to something specifically for pregnancy - any recommendations? Also can anyone tell me if first scans are abdominal or vaginal? I'm not sure if they have to scan from inside like they did for treatment - doesn't really matter but I'd like to feel prepared. Don't want them to say get yourself ready on the bed and then they might come in horrifed to find I've got my knickers off and they only wanted to scan my belly!!
Anyway - happy pregnancy everyone,
Cherylxx

I have had two scans so far and both have been vaginal. I'm am having my third next week and again that will be vaginal. I don't know whether this is the same for everyone but just thought I would let you know how mine were done.

I know what you mean about embarressing situations so it is always best to go in prepared

Hope you are feeling ok and enjoying each day of these miracles.

Jacky I had exactly the same - like stomach was pulling and stapling bits of me from the inside - I also had a tickly cough and a really itchy throat - maybe these are sympoms of mild OHSS. Mine are pretty much gone now so I feel much more comfortable - just hope that's not a bad sign!!

Little P - thanks for advice - I'm sure you're right about scans, it's probably too early for a belly scan. Did you actually see the heart beating or do they just tell you if they can see something? God it's so fretful isn't it - still I much prefer waiting for 2 weeks each time than having to wait the full 12 weeks before I know anything.

Jamato - You being referred after week 8 sounds great - things must be goiing really well. I too keep checking for any signs when I go to the loo - it's ridiculous the things we do isn't it?

Hello everyone else - how are you - any advice from those even further down the road?

Yes - it's an amazing thing to see, you see the little heart beating frantically away. Be prepared for a few tears, it's an emotional occasion!!

Does anyone have a funny taste in their mouth - I can't quite explain it, but it seems to be there permanently. I also get this sudden pain in my tummy which disappears as quickly as it came on - maybe it's wind

Anyway, all these worries and still more ahead no doubt - I just keep focusing on next week and seeing my Little One again.

Love and hugs to you all

Hi everyone

Glad you are all doing ok. I know exactly how you are feeling waiting for each scan.
Cheryl - Just be careful taking normal multivits. Pregnancy multivits have exactly what you need in them and also dont contain vitamin A which is best avoided in pregnancy.
Jacky - I also get pain sometimes there! the only thing I would say to monitor for is a urine infection if you have bladder probs as well. You are apparently more prone to them in pregnancy because the progesterone softens smooth muscle (which includes urinary tubes!). Ive been drinking lots of cranberry juice which seems to help. Theres so many different aches and pains its hard to know when to worry and when not to sometimes!!
Take care everyone

Thanks for advice Kim - I've bought a new 'mums to be' vitamin from Boots which looks quite good and will swap to that tonight. I'm starting to think that things might be over for me because of lack of pregnancy symptoms but I'll just have to be patient and see what scan tells us next week.
Jacky - how exciting you're having your first proper craving - I wouldn't know if I had a craving because I always eat everything anyway!!
Little P - I do have funny taste in my mouth - that's about my only symptom but it's not what I would call 'metallic' (like the pregnancy books say) - I'm not sure what it is.
Oh waiting, waiting, waiting - isn't it the most unbearable thing ever?!!

Cheryl

PMA - PMA - PMA - PMA

I know it's hard - everyday is like a fresh challenge, but fight off those negative thoughts and concentrate on the positive ones. You are pregnant. It is early days and lots of women don't experience any symptoms till much later on, if they get them at all. There is nothing to say that you have to have cravings, morning sickness or anything like that.

Remember the mind can play tricks on you - just focus on the little one and don't worry about anything else. Next week will put your mind at rest.

Big hugs

Little P

Jacky - I agree about not rushing back to work - take as much time as you need. Yes I did the calculator and it predicted EDD of 27th March 2006 and said I was 5 weeks this week (6 weeks from end of week) so tat was good to know but I'm not goiing to put date on due dates thread until after scans (maybe not until after week 12) but I'll see! Glad you're feeling a little bit better - hopefully you'll be able to relax more now if you're a bit more comfortable.
Little P thanks for advice - I know that PMA is so important so I'm goiing to try really hard to keep believing. Never before have I prayed so hard for sickness!! Still as you say, I might be one of those people who don't get major symptoms.
Smita - your scans sound incredible - must be very reassuring - how come you get so many? Do you have to pay extra and request them or is it standard practice at your clinic?
Kim - how far gone are you? I couldn't tell from your signature but I thought you were one of the Mayflowers - are you nearly at 2nd trimester. You might have already told me so apologies if you have - my brain is very forgetful at present!
Hello to everyone else - happy pregnancies,

Hi Cheryl

Im 15 wks (Should show on my ticker?). Just want to say as lil p and smita have said dont worry about lack of symptoms. 5 wks is still early for nausea to start for a lot of people, and you might be lucky and not get any! Im still getting it and it's supposed to stop around 12 wks, so we dont all follow text books! (some books also dont tell you of other symptoms you get like all the AF type pains). Ive had mild nausea all along (eased by eating!) AF type pains daily and occasional times when ive been exhausted, but nothing much else. Have now got a bump (probably increased by fat layers!!!).
Hope your scan reassures you!

Take care everyone!

hi all,
Cheryl, good to see u sounding a little positive..
And abt the scans, since I have spotting, I get worried everyday if the baby is still around- so pay extra and get them done for peace of mind..its heavy on the pocket, but at least I feel reassured for 2 days and then start worrying again.. so welcome to the gang of compulsive worriers!!
Lil P, whens your next scan?? Good luck..
Kim, thanks for popping in now and then to do the reassuring!!
Hope the rest are fine..

Thanks for advice Kim and Smita - it helps loads just to hear someone say it. Yes Kim it does show on your ticker but I'm a bit slow on the uptake and hadn't clicked on that!! I had thought about having a ticker for treatment but it was just all too complicated and technical! Anyway congrats on the 15 weeks - that's fantastic and very exciting. Smita - that's amazing that you can pay for extra scans - your clinic must be really supportive - I'd love to do that but mine is very stretched as it is because they do NHS and private patients so generally you can't have anymore than the basic service even if you're willing to pay - party poopers! Perhaps it's just as well with me because I'd be there daily if I could!!
Lil P - how are you today? Thanks for advice etc - am starting to feel a bit more relaxed now and convincing myself that I can't control it so I will just see what nature does (hard though and I do have my regular slip ups)
Jacky - how are you feeling today? Hpoe you have even more relief from pains - I'm certainly tonnes more comfortable now which at least means proper relaxation and sleep - I hope you are too.
